Hi, I was playing Sims 2 recently and noticed how I can't stand how ugly is stack of books that child sims put on their chair before playing chess. I know yo make beautiful replacements of random thing in the game that I couldn't even thought are possible to replace but can you consider replacing the texture of those books? No pressure, tho, I just love your works and think you're really talented :)

I did try and re-make Maxis' texture from scratch but it didn't look that good haha.. so I went and did something completely different (which I don't usually do since I want to keep Maxis' "feeling" but this texture was not possible to save lol) so this is how my default looks right now:

I managed to import my man to blender!!!
Thoughts:
- I want to learn blender solely for the purpose of rendering my tragic man. Is it possible to open up ts1 “meshes” in blender?? If I remember correctly, ts1 meshes are not… 3D? So like how... would it even work
- I want to give my theme a makeover. BUT I HAVE NO FREETIME ANYMORE
- packrat is drowning in asks. I’m sorry, I’ll try to answer at least one ask a day starting next week
- I’m going to study photography again! For a year, then after that I guess it’s back to square one

EA's flour and mine 🤡
I used the flour mesh from here but fixed some mapping issues and gave it a new texture. Now off I go and give the sugar a new texture.

My ssd drive is completely full. Not too surprised since I scanned a lot of negatives I got back from the lab recently, and I am in need of a new drive (I have so much stuff omfg) so I got a bigger ssd which my dad made a clean install of Windows on. Yay!
BUT just when I thought I had everything under control, my trash-backup-ish disk "died" (I'm shocked it held on for this long tbh hahaha). Everything I had on there is stuff I have on my C:\ drive so it's not pure panic, but I downloaded Diskdrill to see if I could get it all back (instead of trying to figure out what I had on it, my memory is pure shit) and somehow it even found files I had deleted???? I found a BUNCH (if not all) of the files I downloaded off of carrigon's site some years ago before her 4shared files died. Fingers crossed they aren't corrupt when I restore them, and I can upload them to packrat!


@gaypleasantview is the best!! they kindly extracted the tragic clown for me (and explained how to use simpose, I'm forever grateful) so be prepared for a shitload of images of my tragic man 🤡
hello - I just wanted to ask how your food default project is going on. It is one thing that I am looking forward to so badly! :) Do you plan on making text only in simlish? Do you plan on switching every food into vegan or are you going to stick to the original food by the game? I personally stick to playing the game in simlish only (it helps me avoid downloading too much CC :D) Also, I think sticking to the original food could give more variety in the game as every sim can't be vegan.
Hello anon! :-D my project is going alright, but very slow 🤡 and I'm very happy to hear you're looking forward to it!! I'm planning on making every text simlish (if you're thinking about the text on the milk carton where it says "vegan" in English, I am planning on editing that one. I think I said that I might use English on there, but I take that back haha. I just have to find a nice simlish text-combo that fits).
As for the food, I am making everything vegan hehe. For me, animals (and their by-products) are not food. While I do understand not everyone can be vegan (everyone can do something though!) but sims aren't alive, so they don't have that problem of not being able to "not be vegan". It's a lot more fun for me personally making the food vegan, and, well, I started this project for me.. so, yeah. I will share it (like I usually do) since it might be useful/fun for people out there as well :-D sorry if this isn't the answer you wanted 🥺👉🏽👈🏽
Also, there are about 20,000 edible plants on earth, yet people only eat the same 5-6 types of animals. I personally think there is more variety to a plant-based diet than a carnivore one ;-)

At first glance, it might not seem like it's any different but my texture is much less blurry, I also re-mapped it quite a bit (EA was so sloppy on the mapping here) and I also edited the mustard(?) bottle slightly. I personally think the bread is too white (I want to add some sort of yellow/orange tint to it, but I haven't managed to get it looking god yet)

Jacky93′s smoothies cabinet edited
Next item on the list is an edit of @jacky93sims smoothies cabinet. I swapped the fruit basket for @vegan-kaktus‘ fruit bowl default. Additionally I turned writings on coffee (or tea?) bags and can to simlish. I also made a tiny change to smoothies - I removed unnecessary glass textures, because all galsses used the same.
The polycount of the cabinet dropped to 6831 polys.
I changed filenames so you could tell which one is the original version and which one is an edit.

Standing Eva’s cauldron
I really like Sunni’s functional version of Eva’s cauldron, but it didn’t fit my vagabond Sims as they have no spot to hang the cauldron. I copied the cauldron and edited mesh by adding metal legs from Sunni’s Skyrim pit conversion. Polycount: 2070
There are two versions of cauldron: repositoried to Sunni’s functional Eva’s cauldron and standalone. You have to choose one. I slightly edited the texture in standalone version to add metal legs part. If you want my edited texture on repositoried cauldron, put in your downloads my edit of Sunni’s Eva’s cauldron (included in the zip file). If you choose not to replace the original cauldron, metal legs aren’t going to look that bad either - they’ll have the same texture as the cauldron. You can see the difference between Skyrim- and cauldron-textured legs in the preview: on the left there’s version using Skyrim pot texture, on the right there’s version using cauldron texture.

Sell cures from inventory
No, I haven’t finished yet.
This little mod allows your Sims to buy cures from TSM herbal station set from Sims with ‘physician’ trait by @sunmoon-starfactory . It works similarly to my ‘sell poisons from inventory’ mod. (It is based on @midgethetree‘s ‘witches can sell potions from inventory’)
Sims can buy from physicians cures for morning sickness, food poisoning, cold, pneumonia, flu and mysterious disease, provided that you have these cures in your downloads folder. If your Sim doesn’t have enough money, the cure seller doesn’t have the cure in their inventory or your Sim is an enemy of the seller, the potion seller will refuse to sell the cure. However, sims with ‘born salesperson’ trait will sell cures to their enemies, but they will deduce additional $25 per item from them.
The price the seller will ask your Sim to pay is higher by $25 than the catalog price. Considering that creating cures with the herbal crafting station costs $25 less than the catalog price, it gives your cure seller extra $50 per item. You can change the added value in the BCON ‘Tuning - Cure Added Price‘.
‘Physician’ trait is not included in the download, so get it here.

Grow plantbaby together
Last but not least, something I’ve been working on for quite some time. First, let me ask you a question: aren’t you tired of plantbabies looking all so similarly?
With this mod two plantsims of opposite genders can grow plantbaby together. Sim A will approach Sim B and suggest having a plantbaby. If Sim A suggest the other Sim growing plantbaby together and the other Sim has ‘dislikes children’ trait, they will decline. However, if Sim B is married to Sim A or has family aspiration, they have 10% chance of agreeing and if they are both married to Sim A and have family aspiration, they have 20% chance of agreeing.
If Sim B agrees, they’ll headbang together producing spores (apparently headbanging is now a plantsim equivalent of WooHoo? Don’t ask me. 🤷♀️) Then plantbaby will appear and you will be asked to choose its name. Both parents will have a memory of producing a plantbaby
Cyjon’s Smarter EP Check is required for this mod to work!
“Fairy” versions require @paradoxcase’s Fairy Changelings and @midgethetree “Fairy Life State”.
Plantbaby of two plantsims will inherit genes from both of them. It’ll have personality and skill points varying between personality and skill points of its parents - e.g. if Sim A has 1 cooking point and Sim B has 4 cooking points, their plantbaby will have 1, 2, 3 or 4 cooking points. The baby will inherit each badge randomly from one of its parents - e.g. flowermaking badge from Sim A and fishing badge from Sim B. It might also not inherit a badge if one of parents has it but the other doesn’t. Genes are a lottery, you don’t always have luck.
These functionalities differ in versions that are compatible with other mods to make my mod fit other mods - e.g. ‘changes’ versions diminish plantbaby’s skill points by half like Cyjon’s PlantbabyChanges does.
This mod contains new social interaction and overrides of BHAVs controlling growing a plantbaby. Because of that it conflicts with some other mods.
Therefore there are 6 versions of the base file:

Meduza_GrowPlantbabyTogether_ChooseLastName is an optional file that allows you to choose plantbaby’s last name if it has two playable parents. It should load after the base file.
I don’t intend to add dialog to choose with which parent the plantbaby should leave if parents live in different households. Initiating growing plantbaby together is not tied to only one gender like giving birth in most cases is, so the plantbaby will live with the initiator.
They way plantbaies are produced by only one plantsim remains unchanged - if you choose vanilla version, you’ll have vanilla behaviour in this regard. If you choose one of compatible with other mods versions, you’ll have behaviour introduced by those mods.

I know right?! Thankfully midge re-made Bonehilda for ts2 here, and there's actually a clown nose in the program files (credit to memento for finding it) but our dear tragic clown is nowhere to be found :-(


Yet another default no one really needs 🥴 my urge to poke at absolutely everything in this game is absurd but since I've already made it, I might as well share it.
This is a default replacement (mesh + texture) for the bubble bottle and wand from OFB. My texture is 128x128 for the bottle (EA's was 64x64) but the wand's texture is the same (32x32), I did edit the UV-mapping on the wand a tiny bit and rotated the bottle mesh slightly so more of the texture is shown. File has been compressed to reduce file size as usual!

I have a list of custom foods I'm planning on editing and make compatible with my food overhaul, what you see here is a pizza box I'm planning on using for Morague's microwaveable pizza. I found the pizza texture in a trash-texture but it was very low-res so I plopped it into a photo enhancer and I think it looks alright now? Here is said trash-texture:

It has been fixed!!! (thank you so much @episims and @tvickiesims!! would never have managed this without your help<3)
This is what solved it:
extract the "o2a-counter-cereal-pourMilk-foodPrepCereal-milkAnim" (finder - namemap search. I have a tutorial on how to use namemap search here)
make a new file and import the resource you just extracted.
click on the resource, go to plugin view and click here:

4. choose "root_trans" in the list and then click on the + to expand:

5. click on X, edit the value in parameter to 0 and uncheck the "parent shrink" box. Do the same for Y.

6. click commit, save the package and you're done! no more moving cutting board (for the cereal, at least).
Edit: eh what the heck, I uploaded my fix here. Might or might not be compatible with any cereal defaults out there, it depends on how the creator created and edited the replacement. It will be included in my default though :-) and feel free to include it in any of your defaults.

It's only like this when doing a group serving (edit: ha-ha nope, it's the same with single serving). Here is a gif of what I mean:
