Reminder to DM me to get an invite for the "A Corner of Rivendell" Discord Server!!!
"Gilded Choices: The Reaping of Stars" is finally out!!!

The "Hunger Games" x "The Rings of Power" fic is out today!!!
" The bells of the district tolled across Eregion, their deep, haunting chime reverberating off the mountains like the final echoes of a forgotten song. Galadriel stood at the edge of the stone balcony, gazing down upon the swelling crowd in the square of Ost-in-Edhil. The crisp mountain air bit at her exposed skin, wrapping her in its cold embrace, but the wind did little to cool the fire that flickered in her chest, the ever-growing storm of dread. Her silver-blonde hair danced with the wind, strands whipping against her face, but she did not brush them away. Her sharp, blue-grey eyes were fixed on the scene unfolding below. It was Reaping Day, the day when names would be called, and lives would be irrevocably changed. For centuries, she had watched from this very spot as the Games claimed tribute after tribute, taking away loved ones, warriors, and artisans alike. This day had never passed without a sense of foreboding, but now, the feeling gnawed at her insides in a way it never had before. Today, her own name lay in the pool, awaiting its turn to be drawn. Eregion, District Four, was known across the land for its unrivaled craftsmanship. Artisans, blacksmiths, architects— the people of Eregion shaped the world in ways only the finest hands could. The fires of their forges burned day and night, and the creations that emerged were nothing short of wonders. The graceful arches and intricate designs of their buildings were the envy of the other districts, reminders of a past when Eregion had stood at the pinnacle of elven beauty and strength. A past without the Games. But here, and now, no legacy could withstand the cruel force of the Games. Eregion's beauty had been reduced to a tool, its people churning out weapons and armor for the Capitol’s endless wars. Their craftsmanship, once a thing of art and pride, was now a commodity. And their finest young were chosen not for their skill but for their strength in battle. A different kind of forge, now, with no room for failure."
Hey, lovelies!💕 So, confession time: I'm a huge fan of both The Hunger Games and Lord of the Rings (like, who isn't?!) and somehow my brain thought, “Hey, what if we combined the two and created something angsty and dramatic and full of feels?” So here we are!😂 Instead of working on my exams (which I really should be doing, let's be honest 🙈) or actually finishing my OG book draft ( to get published end of November/Early December), I went all in on this AU.
This fic is going to be long and multi-chapter, so buckle up because there’s a lot to unpack in this alternate world of districts, tributes, and a whole lot of emotional tension. If you're here for the angst and the drama, you've come to the right place!😏 *wink wink*
Now, just a fair warning to all my fellow Galadriel x Celeborn shippers... You might want to sit this one out if you're hoping for a rosy, happily-ever-after between them. I’ve turned Celeborn a bit darker and he’s definitely not a flawless angel in this story. (But hey, that just adds more depth to the tension, right? 👀) The dynamics between him, Galadriel, and Elrond are going to get complicated, and yes—there's lots of spice and conflict along the way.
If you're interested in joining a small server ( "A Corner of Rivendell") to talk about shipping, about those two (Elrondriel), feel free to dm me and I'll send you an invite!💕💕💕

I really dislike the short-haired elves in the Rings of power. They just don't feel very elvish or tolkien. They remind me of pictures from behind the scenes of the Hobbit where the elves are trying on their costumes or are practicing for a scene. They feel unfinised. Like they all forgot to put on their wigs.

I really loved the opening scene in LOTR-fotr, when "Galadriel" was the commander of Gil-Galad's army and fought against Sauron. Epic battle.
Also the scene when we first met "Elrond" in Lothlòrien. Unforgettable. When everyone were amazed by his ethereal aura, his (short) flowing blond hair and his beautiful white clothing.......Oh wait.

Isildur and the Rings of power: the golden trio of Numenor.

The awkward lanky side-kick, the chosen one, the bookworm.
bonus:

Her father will hear about this.

Finrod blep. :p
(not my pictures)
The elves leaving Valinor:
Me and my sister was talking about Rings of power ep1, and I said something about how the elves left Valinor like a bunch of hattifatners in all their tiny boats. She loved it and said I had to make a comparison, so here it is. Please enjoy.

Even the pictures of the elves traveling back to Valinor fits the descripton.
We were all deceived! :)
Elrond is the real Sauron. He is in Eregion charming and helping Celebrimbor make the rings, and earning the trust of the dwarves using politics, bringing them together to secretly take them all down. This is why he has the ability to teleport between places and he is so skilled in breaking rocks (secret blacksmith). Halbrand is just a distraction who dont know if he is suppose to be from the south or early rohan.
You never know in this show. It could be true :) Elrond does seem to get every other characters story except for his own so far so....
edit: I just figured out this is why the painting in Numenor looks so weird. Sauron went there and photoshopped himself over Elrond. That is why "Elrond" looks so different then the rest of the painting.
Lore question
I don't know much of the lore from the Silmarillion and the second age, but I think the second age is supposed to be really long and Sauron is visiting a lot of places. So where is he actually suppose to be in this show? I dont understand the timeline , also they just keep jumping around from one place to another and have important stuff happening off-screen.
Since from what I have gathered ; He is in the Southlands building an army, in Eregion with Celebrimbor convincing him to make the rings, manipulation both the dwarves and Gil-galad, playing hide'n seek with Galadriel all over Middle-earth, maybe traveling with the harfoots and is also infiltrating Numenor. All at the same time. So yeah.....the question is where is he suppose to be?
Halbrand - bad plan
If Halbrand is Sauron, what do you think his plan was?
do some bad stuff -> get on boat -> get shipwrecked -> don't get eaten by giant sea monster -> Be only survivor on shipwreck -> randomly meet very important angry elf in the middle of the ocean -> become "friends" with angry elf -> Get saved by new important nice guy who also is in the middle of the ocean -> Join them to random place -> Great, it was Numenor -> just stay here and be blacksmith -> annoy angry elf some more -> make a lot of trouble -> get trown into prison -> NOT become king of the soutlands!! -> STAY -> infiltrate and watch them destroy themselves (on hold) -> gets bossed around by angry elf -> leave with angry elf and tiny army to destroy hisown army...... wait a minute.
he's basically just there randomly, no real motivation, just at the right place at the right time, or at the wrong place at the wrong time. depends on how you look at it. He just wants to be left alone and Galadriel keeps pushing him around and guilt-tripping him to do stuff. They are not really friends, they just happened to survive together for awhile and Galadriel won't let him go.
If this is Sauron, i'm either really disapointed by his planning abilities or really impressed.

So, does anyone know why Sauron marked Finrod?? Does Sauron normally go around branding people?
I mean, if it was an eye; then ok. It is Saurons mark, it's been his mark the entire time. It's his signature. That is why it's in his castle/forge and on the sword he probably made. He marked Finrod to say it was he who killed him. This makes sense.
But now it's a map. A map of Mordor. But Mordor does not exist yet. If it was left as a clue in the castle so that poeple who came there later would know where too meet up, like a secret messege only some would understand, then that's also ok. Then the mark on the sword would just mean "made in Mordor" or something similar. But then it doesn't make sense why Finrod was marked. IF this mark is directions, then wouldn't it be a bad idea to send it to your enemies? like "hey, we moved, this is the adress for the new secret evil headquarter, see you there.."
Did Sauron just settle in the Southlands just bacause it matched up with his mark? Was it the plan all along?? I don't understand the writers of this show.
I don't know when Finrod died, but if it was before the plan to settle in the Southlands was made, then the mark is older than the plan. So the idea of it being directions dont make sense either.
Great battle of tiny village
why does the rings of power feel like they have just been building up to this "battle" and nothing happened. Why did Galadriel even recruit the numenorians? I mean, they didn't even make a difference. Apparently the few villagers managed to hold back the orcs and fight them off totally fine. Why where the numenorians even there? they knew where they where going since the calculated how long it would take them to arrive but no one is suppose to know what's going on in the Southlands. All the elves who were there died and Arondir didn't send a messege or anything. Galadriel only have a hunch that Sauron maybe is there. Not any conformation, just a really old piece of paper with instruction she don't even know if Sauron is following. And she doesn't know of any army, just suspecting he is bulding up his forces. And since Galadriel didn't know of these orcs attacking people, what was the numenorian army even suppose to fight? Galadriel didn't even know Adar existed. she could have seen it in the palatir but they only used it to show the flood vision, nothing more. Also shouldn't someone sent a message to the elves who where managing the area and have them meet up with Galadriel and the numenorian army and then have her lead their forces insted of the numenorians? Why does it feel like Galadriel rekruited the numenorians just to free a small village she didn't even know existed or needed help. Why is this such a great victory? they just saved a few people and an already destroyed village. most of the orcs were also already dead or gone.
And I guess the biggest question I currently have is, why is there so few poeple in this world? the village; maybe 30 peolpe total and half left, and they all seem to randomly appear or disappear. Numenorians; lookls like maybe 100 horses, but the army seems to disappear later and maybe 30 people going around the village and that is generous. it's like only the main characters exist and others just show up to deliver some lines and then disappear again. And don't get me started on the orcs; the Great army of what? 50 orcs or something. What great battle they all fought. It was good that the numenorians all trained to fight on foot since it's not like they where all fighting on horseback or something. I mean, It sure was worth going trough all the trouble to get the numenorian army there, right?
I wanted to go to bed and they had to drop this!!!! How am I supposed to sleep again

thank god Robert's dad isn't on here because i have thoughts 🤧👀
