i went to a jousting tournament today and the two main guys we most certainly gay lovers

they had this knight banter and it was brilliant even tho me and my mum suffered in the heat we were the blue side of the area??? idfk what its called and the other side was red but anyway the blue guy was called sam of hever bc the tournament was at hever castle - former childhood home of anne boleyn it was also gifted to anne of cleves as a divorce gift from henry viii anyway anyway... the red guy was called ashley of hampshire the crowd absolutely wanted to eat sam's ass everyone was cheering for him he and ashley had this banter because apparently both knights were kinda dumb asf but it was rlly enjoyable THERE WAS ALSO THIS GUY CALLED MUNGO AND HE WAS BEAUTIFUL i like my men ✨skinny and scrawny✨ alots of lances broke and it was cool one guy (think his name was Timothy???) fucked up by saying that he was the most attractive member of the staff and proceeded to get jumped by like six women with grass THEN THE BEST PART IS THAT THIS DUDE HAD TO SIT ON THE BARRIER THAT SPLITS THE KNIGHTS WHEN THEY JOUST AND GOT FUCKING RUN UP BY SAM WITH A LANCE ON A HORSE GOING FAST AS FUCK BOII ahem dude got pummelled and it was hilarious but yeah anyway sam and ashley r gay and i wont take criticism gay hever castle sorry for the amount of tags 💀✋

ooc. thinking some thoughts on this boy as I gradually try to dip back into this blog like I promised and refine my headcanons on him a little

anyway I like to portray him as Peranakan; a lot of how I develop him follows along the trajectory of narratives of the Chinese Singaporeans and that does make a a bigger impact on his character, but Singapore is very much a multicultural and multiethnic entity and with the personification himself I want to acknowledge that mixed heritage-- his Malay roots mean just as much to him, especially in the present day as he tries to figure and define himself a little more

(and of course the influences from other ethnic groups and identities matter greatly as well!! especially from Indian Singaporeans who also make an important part of Singapore’s history, as well as others like the indigenous Orang Laut; but there are reasons I portray him as and have him identify as Peranakan, which I’ll expand upon another time as I do more reading, but basically gfdgf here’s today’s brain dump)

ooc I don't think it's possible to represent a personification as every identity because I think it generalizes them too much but I also want to portray and reference Singapore's identity as a multiethnic and multicultural personification so trying to get to some middle ground where I have him as an identity that has that multiethnic history while also trying to figure out how this informs his relationships with other parts of himself I guess I could just have him ambiguous as well but gfdgdf it doesn't sit right with me either gotta specify just enough but not too much if that makes sense ofc this is just my take on it because I just gfdgdfg have a lot of thoughts and this is at the end of the day informed by my own conclusions and dhfjgkfd anyway anyway... gonna gradually reply to stuff here I'm sorry to the three people waiting since october * A CREATURE SO EAGER TO REINVENT ITSELF || headcanon
