the fanfictions which hit different are always the incomplete ones and have not been updated since your birth year .
Me after clicking on a fic on ao3 and the author says that English isn't their native language: This fic is gonna be so good
I respect fanfic writers sm they put out thousands of words upon words for free . The writing style , the plot , the plot twists , the characterization , the way they describe emotions often have me take a lap around the house sometimes ngl
God bless those people who are INCREDIBLE writers but decide to use those skills to write gay fanfiction
We all know it’s coming. Someone told me the domain’s been paid for until 2028 or 2029, so, we have a little less than a decade of all of us watching this limp along. On fire.
I remember being flabbergasted when I was hunting through FFnet’s fandom list and seeing Ann Rice and Pern. Came very close to back flipping out of there.
I am An Unknowable Chaos Gremlin, but I hung around fandom Eldritch Beings. I have second hand trauma.
So I’m on AO3 and I see a lot of people who put “I do not own [insert fandom here]” before their story.
Like, I came on this site to read FAN fiction. This is a FAN fiction site. I’m fully aware that you don’t own the fandom or the characters. That’s why it’s called FAN FICTION.
Do you ever just think that it’s ok to leave your fanfic open on your couch while going to grab a snack but then in that exact moment your mom decides to come visit so as you hear her key turning you basically tackle the couch to hid the fic and you end up greeting your mum with your face in the pillows and your body straight (the only time I can be straight… I’m sorry I had to) like a stick to cover the phone
Ao3 is down, my life is empty, my tears have not yet dried and I have somehow not yet died 😔

After laughing at everyone's who's ao3 shuts down (cuz yeah mine doesn't as often as yours), I finally experienced your suffering.
I apologise for making fun of your misery and found myself contemplating my life choices yesterday after loosing my husband....
How the heck do you all survive that kind of thing?? Even ww3 seems easier...

When ao3 doesn't work...
God, I never realized how much time I spend on ao3! Now that I'm dying of boredom, I appreciate the ao3 volunteers even more. Pray to our god of fanfics to support them in this war guys!
Something to do
Ao3 still doesn't work, so I'm wasting my time looking at screenshots of "Web server is returning an unknown error" to see what city people live in. Quite interesting, especially since I don't know ¾ of these places.
