Hi, I saw the art tag and now I'm curious : If you could choose only one, who would be your favorite superhero, and why?

I wrote like 500 words on why but I’m too lazy to figure out how to use a read more so I’ll shorten it:

I’m a sucker for characters who are desperate for fame and accolades and will do questionable shit for it but are still, at their core, good. It’s my favorite character archetype.

You can tell stories with Booster you really can’t with anyone else. He’s a Superhero Brand who acknowledges he’s a part of pop culture without breaking the 4th wall, and that’s so interesting at a time when Superhero Brands are such a massive part of pop culture.

There’s also this long winded thing I can’t figure out how to best simplify about escapism and power fantasies and how booster allows the catharsis of acknowledging that people are drawn to power for selfish gain but he does this without breaking the basic Superhero Escapism Fantasy about a group of all-powerful, all-good people who will protect us.

Also I’m gay, so the whole ‘intense homosocial relationship + general disinterest in romance w/ women + struggles w/ gender conformity’ thing doesn’t hurt
