I found some drawings in a sketchpad that made me flip my lid because I completely forgot that I’d drawn a slight redesign for him and actually given him a name so I had to do this. His neck is long extra floofy, he can swivel it around like an owl and fold it downwards to give the appearance of a shorter, rounder stature. If he moves with his neck out it’s kind of a goofy raptor-bob motion. Colors are mostly the same, though I also reduced his body colors down to two slightly darker greys instead of three to keep it simple and more cohesive. I adjusted his proportions a bit since they looked weird on the old ref, and his posture is more hunched. The other details are pretty much the same, though.

Had a dream that there was a furry subculture revolving entirely around popular cryptids where nobody knew exactly what anybody else's fursona actually looked like because they exclusively drew themselves blurry and out of focus and/or really far away.

Hunter’s Journal entry 2: Flatwood Monsters. These ethereal cryptids can often be found floating near flatwood trees. For whatever reason there is only ever one per tree, and since flatwood trees grow far away from eachother, this means they are solitary creatures. No one has ever been able to kill one of these things but based on their metallic exterior it wouldn’t be to rash to say they are potentially man-made, although it is hard to say without actually being able to dissect one. They are extremely protective of their tree and will ward off anyone who gets too close. The flat wood trees on their own are quite interesting. Their glowing red flowers that seem to always be in bloom no matter the season suggests they are potentially magical. They are beautiful and yet their red light makes for an incredibly ominous atmosphere. I once decided to watch one of these trees and it’s flat wood monster. I would often watch as some verity of cryptid, mostly sentient type cryptids, would walk up to the tree. The flat wood monster would pick one of the glowing flowers from the tree and gift it to the cryptid, and then the cryptid would simply walk into the tree as if it were liquid. Where on earth could these trees lead? These creatures are certainly one of the more mysterious phenomenon within the valley. Best stear clear of them.

Hey hey! I'm not any-phobic, if you're using that term that way!
However, if we're using it literally as 'afraid of cryptids', then yes, I would typically consider myself scared of unknown monstrosities that intend on killing me.
Again, do YOU know a friendly cryptid? Cause if so, I'd be happy to meet 'em!

the reason why it says real wendigo is because able and tyson (my characters) are neo wendigos (created from deer parts by a vengeful witch)
