Ddos Attack - Tumblr Posts
We all know about the DDOS attacks on AO3 as it is still down. So it is very important we talk about the KOSA(Kids Online Safety Act) that is going to hit the floor soon. Because if that act goes through this could very much be the new reality of not only AO3 but online fandom spaces within the next year. The point of this act is to limit queer media and to eliminate online queer spaces.
Let me stress, the politicians are lying to you. Democrats and Republicans are lobbying for this. It is not pro trans rights and it is not pro lgbtq rights. This is very reminiscent of the Restrict Act! Politicians can SUE websites for having QEEER CONTENT. This act will not protect kids, it will further separate and marginalize the queer community!
If this bill goes through AO3, Wattpad, TikTok, Tumblr, and Twitter will be limited and fanfiction websites could be wiped out all together. If you are apart of fandom spaces pay attention and ACT! Call and email your senators! AND SIGN THE BELOW PETITIONS!

AO3 is a great source of comfort for many of us readers. And an amazing platform to publish our writings. DDOS attacks are generally used to prevent a platform to make money while it's down. AO3 is a free-add, non profit, open source platform so it won't affect them in that way. BUT: one of the best revenge is to fund those incredible AO3 volunteers that are keeping this website alive !! Imagine coordinating a DDOS attack, only to have AO3 users massively supporting the website ?? That would be fucking amazing if you ask me.
I've seen tons of posts including some variation of: "donate when AO3 can receive them again!" Friendly reminder that the Organization for Transformative Works is the nonprofit that runs AO3, and they're very much still available to donate to right now! So, you don't need to wait to donate.

The second day of the AO3 DDOS attack and I’m really am bored because I can’t read my fanfics. ☠️
Welcome to the Internet I guess. /(0,0)\. But at least I have patience but I’m sad that the hackers are denying this. I can’t read any dead dove do not eat nor male pregnancy fanfics. Just why did the hackers attack AO3?!
