Ok so if Encanto does get a series, I hope we get to see more of Dolores and Mariano’s relationship in the background. Maybe be the focus of some episodes. And like their wedding can be a special episode like part of the B plot in a season finale or something. And we can see Felix getting emotional that his daughter’s getting married. Camilo and Antonio too.

And of course Pepa is freaking out too, because once again, it’s her baby’s special day. And maybe she’s worried about ruining this one too with another hurricane. But then we see Bruno come up to her and this time he’s actually able to calm her down. Like “hey, it’s alright. Don’t sweat it, let it go…knock on wood”.

And we see the whole family celebrating together it’s all just really sweet and fun.

THIS!!! the ending was the only part of the movie that did not sit right with me!!

Not that the ending of Encanto is untouchable in terms of criticism, but the specific criticism that them getting their magic back at the end of the movie takes away from the main point of the movie kind of irks me. It’s like… what do YOU think the main point of the movie is? Because this in no way took a water from the main point.

I think a lot of you took “magic bad” instead of “the generational trauma is bad.” The magic showed how their generational trauma created certain pressures around them, and the magic also represented their family. Once their were cracks in the family, there were cracks in the magic. When they rebuilt the house, and reinstated the magic, it represented the bond of the family being fixed.

Also, it literally makes no sense to take away from the magic when some of these characters journeys are about discovering themselves with their magic- a huge example of this being Isabela.

Like I get that some of you just don’t want fantasies to stay fantasies, but to say that the ending missed the point shows me that you don’t actually know what the point is.

you both love teasing each other relentlessly

your gift ceremony was on the same day each of you getting a door right next to each other

your door had you in the middle with multiple other yous surrounding the background

you look really similar to each other and everyone confused you too (especially if Camilo shifts into you)

he’s a drama king, so are you. it’s inevitable

making duplicates of yourself to distract everyone so you can get seconds at breakfast

Camilo shifted into you once to try and get you in trouble at breakfast once so you made duplicates of yourself and when they disappeared back to you, you hit Camilo on top of the head

your duplicates are a part of you so once they return you know what they know

your struggles are feeling like you have to be everywhere at once and having to be there to help everyone

and it’s draining to make so many duplicates of yourself as well

you have many jobs of just helping the townspeople with whatever they need and extra set of hands for

you mostly watch after children like Camilo, you play hopscotch, jump rope, double dutch, etc.

when you were five you and Camilo snuck down to the kitchen to get some arepas and found Bruno who (in your five year old minds) looked like he was 7 feet tall with rats along his back
