They stay in the military dorms I believe but they're, as you said, typically on the road; I think I remember seeing it when they were in East City, Al and Ed were in the dorms with a cat either the episode of or episode before Flame v Fullmetal.

And they're kids, what they wanted was to make sure they couldn't go back. They got essentials, maybe an important book or two, some of Ed's clothing, oil/wax for both Al's armor and Ed's automail, Ed's research/notes journal, probably hair ties, and probably some other things; They probably burned all if not most of Hoenhiem's research and journals and books, their toys, things that belonged to their mother, everything. Probably because they didn't want to keep anything that would be overtly sentimental to them and used as smth against them. (This probably pertains to Ed more so because he's trying to act more like an adult for Al and his own reputation; So things like toys he got rid of so he can't flounder over them. If that makes sense.)

Though, I guess they'd probably not need those journals and all; Or Ed at least wouldn't for the most part because he has memories from the Gate and therefore knows all sorts of shit. But at the same time, I do think there are moments where they realize that they should've kept some things but didn't.

ok but for real. where do Ed and Al live??? they seem to spend most of their time of the road so presumably they stay at a lot of hotels/motels and the like, when in Resembool they're at the Rockbells', but assuredly they've gotta spend a decent amount of time in East/Central city since that's where Ed's boss works. are there barracks of some kind? do they still have to rent a hotel room, and does the military pay for that bc it's a business expense?? does Ed's cheap ass spend the duration couch-surfing????

and on that note where tf do they keep their belongings? do all the Elric brothers' worldly possession fit in that single briefcase?? does Pinako have a closet full of old alchemy books and Ed's spare clothes?? the Elric bros put zero thought into the logistics of burning down their house

Mmmmm I was thinking of ship stuff and honestly? I used to ship edrose (rosed? Ed x Rosé) back when I first watched FMA '03. I don't really anymore, I see them as more friends or familial I guess. I also shipped Ed and Russell but I also only watched *up to* The Other Elric Brothers and then I moved to Brotherhood for a reason that's unknown to me rn.

Now I just don't ship 03 Ed with anyone, I don't see him getting with anyone especially with the later events of the series and furthermore COS. I really think 03 Ed would stay single for numerous reasons (out of 03 and brotherhood, I think 03 Ed is aroace to an extremity and FMAB Ed is just asexual or on a different area of the spectrum when it comes to aromancy.) including and not limited to: He's way too fucked up for a relationship, he can barely take care of himself let alone a relationship or partner, he's 03/COS Ed, he's probably easily manipulated in that sort of sense (by those he cares about, he will listen to) and he probably knows that and keeps his walls up so to speak. He's 03/COS Ed.

This being said, FMAB Ed I ship heavily with Ling. They're stupid and I love them, they probably chase each other around like cartoon characters. They're insane.

I'm using kismet in a different way than intended ig? Because I'm using it as to represent their paths that they canonically go through, Ed traversing and Ling becoming Emperor of Xing.

I also added a lil bonus doodle of Ed fir no reason.

thinking about how wrath's arc in 03 ends with him begging for a way to do human transmutation so he can bring his mother (sloth, trisha) back and then losing his arm and leg to the gate; and ed—who had insisted that homonculi weren't people, who originally wanted wrath to give him back his limbs and insisted that wrath didn't have a mother, who got hit with wrath screaming at him "she was your mother too!"—ed's last act before he sacrifices himself to get al back, is to ask rose to take care of wrath and bring him to resenbool where ed knows wrath will be cared for. ed's eldest half brother is gone, he is about to sacrifice his existence to give his younger brother a chance to live, and i think that by sending wrath to resenbool he is in effect acknowledging wrath as a brother as well. he can no longer call wrath (or envy for that matter) an interloper or fake, and i think that by extension he is accepting that when he killed sloth, he killed a person; he killed his mother again. wrath himself called her their mother—after accepting that he doesnt want to be human, ironically, he also recognizes ed as a person now, instead of a body to steal! and he does so because of the agony ed has chosen to inflict on both of them! recognition of the other through the ability to inflict and share pain.

full circle for both! they are both their mother's child, they are both cognizant of the other's personhood and struggle, they share the same pain and love and agony. all is one, one is all.

Since I'm posting some art, let me post the rest.

My most recent doodles I finisheddd yesterday. Two au ideas are present - fma 03 sonic au (Wrath as a mobian!!!!! He's not a bunny or a fox. He's a lynx, Ed's limbs are fox limbs.) And the second is an au with a different outcome of ep 51, where Ed and Wrath share Wrath's body Greedling style. Will I elaborate? ... Not for the time being.

Major spoilers for CoS below the cut.

I was high af when I was making this; But, Wrath survives au! Yes I know he's a homunculus so i shouldn't have to gague his injuries in order to see how more messed up his body would be, but he also doesn't have access to a lot of red stones - which Lust states is what enduces the regenerative processes, as if they are torn out of your stomach or they're thrown up you're weakened and won't be able to regenerate. It also is shown that it takes a decent amount of time for Wrath to regenerate, after Lust stabs him in the head and then runs off with Ed. I think that has something to do with how his original human body (bones, hair, skin, and all) were used in the human transmutation to bring him back, which canonically does make him weaker. I say it makes him hav3 scars left over from his fights and stuff, but that's also bc I like it when scars show up and STAY.

But yeah anyway uhh, Wrath's kinda fucked. Especially if he truly does have to eat (which homunculi dont have to but, again, Wrath is different from them - even if we dont know just how different, it is clear he does need to sleep and had eaten like a starving boy when Izumi and Sig fed him.) and therefore use his digestive system.

He did eat stones, he ate uhh. Around 9 red stones, give or take, before fighting with Gluttony. So that *could* give him the opportunity to heal the major damage - the airways, maybe the organs, and some of the broken bones or broken parts of his nervous system. But I doubt he'd of been able to heal everything, and I doubt his body would've healed correctly when it comes to his bones. They most likely healed in the wrong places, giving him a crooked spine or something of the sort. (Fucked up my boy :( )

As I wrote in big letters, I don't know enough about homunculi to decipher what would harm him that badly, let alone homunculi like Wrath, who is clearly a bit different than the others. Which is why I'm stating that he'd have some more humanic injuries for my piece of mind.

And I know what you're probably wondering, "But Giovi!!!!!!! Wrath was used, along with Gluttony, to open the Gate on the Armestrian side with Alphonse!!! How the hell are you making him survive with that still in mind!?", and to that I say, my friend, I know. I have that scene memorized in my head, but that's not the point.

I was thinking that when Wrath goes to the Gate, sees Izumi, supposed to be heartbreaking reunion, BUT BAM! Wrath gets a bit fearful, or something of the sort as it is Wrath, due to it being Izumi, he's scared of how she'll perceive him due to how many times he's turned her away, how they spent literal years leading up to her death dancing around each other and the trauma of it all - so he goes through the Gate like Envy did, avoiding death because he can't accept Izumi just yet. He rather embrace the Gate, something he is completely terrified of, than embrace Izumi just yet. Despite longing got it so bad to the point of wanting death, he couldn't do it. So he ends up innn "our world", probably comes through the Gate on the "our world" side and they're like 'oh shit a dead body, anyway' after Ed leaves.

Again, I'm still thinking this au, as well as the other two aus I've brought up, over because they're work in progresses. I'm insane, yes I know.

What if.

Listen, I see Ed and Al as trans in anyway (though my preferred hcs as of current are transfem Al and Transmale Ed).
