First post here! Have some of my old Gothic lit art >:)
Working on some redesigns for them. Jekyll is older, Hyde is well a shadow being- I really want to explore the idea of Jekyll’s disillusionment of Hyde. So what he sees as a transformation is different than how others see it.. I really don’t know how to explain this well so maybe I’ll draw something to explain my thoughts better-

Me when my friend casually said "They'll never separate Jekyll from Hyde, he was right. When you talk about them, you always say "Jekyll and Hyde", it's never only Jekyll or only Hyde. No one knows who they are if you don't say them together, they're nobody without each other" and I. Why would you say that to me.
Jekyll is doomed to always be known as/for the thing he regrettably created. He won't be known for his great science, but for his tragic tale. And Hyde is doomed to never be his own person, but an extension of Jekyll. As Jekyll's regrettable creation. Jekyll will never know peace in his afterlife, never be redeemed for his sins. Hyde will forever haunt him. He tried so desperately to disconnect himself from Hyde's identity, enough to kill himself, and yet years of literature + many adaptations later, he cannot escape Hyde. Cannot escape himself. And Hyde cannot break his bond with Jekyll, he's always going to have to return to that docile state. He says that he's free as Hyde, but what kind of freedom is that. They're stuck together. Forever.
Guys what if I started sobbing at Jekyll and his evilsona gone wrong. What would happen. "They're nobody without each other" you have to be kidding me. They're. hhrhrhg. Doomed by the narrative. I'm so sorry babygirls. Babygirl.

I FINALLY finished the other version! I am very very very proud of the notes I received on my first post, EVEN THE OFFICIAL REPOSTED IT AND IM SO HAPPY MY ART IS FINALLY GETTING NOTICED!!! I am also working on something with the glass scientist once again but with a friend of mine!! We are doing our own versions so it’s gonna be pretty skibidi..

Desmond / Descole as Jekyll and Hyde
Happy Halloween! I’ve worked a lot as of late on this so I hope this looks alright.
This idea has been stewing in my mind for about a year or two with the hope that someday I can make an animatic for it to the musicals music. But I’m happy to have even made just a poster-esc type drawing.
Posting this here for the off chance it might be seen more to get a better idea of which to do.
Short synopsis of the songs with song links on keyword:
Transformation, focuses on Doctor Jekyll when he makes the elixir with a optimistic mindset only to transform to Hyde at the end. Most of the animation will consist on drawing Desmond till the last few seconds with Descole and him getting ready in his usual fit.
Confrontation, is when Doctor Jekyll has his final confrontation against Mr. Hyde. It shows a lot of emotion and range through its voices. It would allow a more back and forth approach between Desmond and Descole as an animatic.
