haven’t seen lots of awareness brought to this in enhablr yet but i really wish all engenes could also post about & talk about the mistreatment they’re getting from belift. the way they haven’t had not even five days of rest the past two years is so concerning. the way the members’ healths are getting worse is so terrifying. they’re all so horrendously overworked and exhausted. we all saw jay’s injury and how they STILL made him perform despite the fact that his knee was injured. and now he’s on a hiatus that probably won’t even last that long considering how greedy their company is.

jake had to sit out from two different stages in their most recent concert and couldn’t even open his eyes when he was present for the other stages. heeseung can’t even properly perform with how overworked and exhausted he is. riki even spoke out about fainting in his weverse (whether it was a mistranslation or joke or not) this is all so terrifying. it’s so concerning because every engene knows how much enha love music & how much they love performing and having concerts for their fans.

their schedules for the past two years have literally been inhumane. comeback after comeback. tour after tour. event after event. concert after concert. belift is treating the members like they’re literal robots and the only people that can actually stop this is engenes themselves the longer you demand for a rest for the boys for no more comebacks and even boycott the higher of a chance enha will have a BREAK.

Great was his surprise when he felt his heart flutter for the first time (or at least he thinks so) when he collided with you on the skatepark on one of his nightly walks while carrying a whole bag of snacks. Maybe it was your beautiful eyes full of the brightest stars a person can have, your worried face after the little accident, or how you acted fast to help him before he fell completely to the ground, his chest touching yours due to the force you applied and holding the prettiest rose in one hand. He could feel a slight heat crawling to his cheeks the moment you looked directly into his eyes.

"I'm truly sorry. I'm in a hurry right now, and I couldn't see you." The tone in your voice could be described as a warm embrace to his heart, the small hint of concern making its presence known in that sentence while you still checked his whole body for any injured parts.

He did not remember to move on his own and was left in a trance for a brief moment. He felt nervous; his heart was racing, and he thought his voice had gone since not a single word came from his mouth.

"Are you okay?" He moved his head up and down as an affirmation, you gave a bow, and then you left while still saying several apologies and one beautiful smile. The state he was in must be described as starstruck and he growled on the low when he realized how stupid he looked to you, with his lips parted and his eyes looking at you in a daze. His sight traveled to the sky bathed in stars of all sizes, the moon positioned at the top, and peace reigned for a second in his body for such a beautiful midnight that was happening.

He placed the palm of his hand right where his vital organ was still beating at a great speed, making him clap his hand with his chest slowly. Due to his job, he got to see multiple girls, all of whom were beautiful to his innocent and lovely eyes every time he interacted with them on stage, at fan events, or even outside taking pictures with the HYBE building with their merchandise, but the reaction he had right now was different. Very different.

He could swear that the moment lived a few minutes ago began to bring him certain hallucinations when he saw you again, this time without the smile you wore before when you said goodbye to him in sorrow and the beautiful flower that was embraced by your fingers, now without any petals left. The moonlight was dazzling, and she saw nothing wrong with overshadowing her little companions. The blossom gave directly to your trail as if it were a reflector, a path of tears forming on the cheeks of others.

You, on the other hand, were so excited to see your partner again after several weeks. His constant classes for that test that all Korean students must take, not to mention all the extracurriculars, had taken time away from your relationship. After the incident with the tall guy with cute moles and the most attractive eyes you could ever see, you ran to the meeting place you and Jinsik had agreed to be at.

You understood him, you really did, but you couldn't get it through your head that he had cheated on you to go with someone else when you saw them kissing. You had to face him for your own peace and hit him with the rose you cared for and made grow with so much love in your grandmother's garden.

The tears finally rolled down from your eyes once you were away from the sly smile and empty words of the boy who wasn't worth it, ending up in the same park as before. The rest of the flower ended in the nearest trash can, and you let yourself out for a few minutes in the empty park.

Ni- Ki didn't know exactly what to do. Does he need to go next to you? That was probably mostly weird. Or should he just go back to the dorms?

The bag next to him started to look alarming, and he took out the big marshmallow covered in chocolate that was for Heeseung once he got back. One lie won't be so bad. The same thing happened. Heart pounding to the point it was banging on his chest, with his very slight sweaty palms and random thoughts coming to his head, he went for it.

The presence beside you was very obvious; you raised your head and your breath stuck in your throat. The tall guy you talked to before saw you with all your make-up running down your face, which you tried to hide with your hair, which was completely useless.

A snack was placed in the middle of you both, and the face of the unknown boy gave you the go-ahead that he was sharing the candy. The sweet stopped at your hands, and you gave a short bow. You looked pretty pathetic; you were not going to deny it or even look at yourself because you just knew it. It was your first breakup, and you didn't think it was going to end this way.

"Bad noon?"

"Oh hell, it is... I just got my heart broken" of course it was. The only area in which he has no clue and would not help at all is if he used all he learned about love and breakups from coming-of-age movies.

"I'm probably the worst person to tell you something, but don't hold the sadness for too long. It will only make it worse to forget him or her, especially if he hurt you. Heal yourself from this and wait for the right person again because love will always come at any time, sooner or later."

You made eye contact again and decided to capture his features, or at least the ones that the face mask didn't cover. His messy brown hair and blonde highlighter were messy, and the beanie he was wearing didn't help, but he pulled it off completely. His feline eyes and gorgeous brows made your heart skip a beat. Your mouth gaped to respond to him, being interrupted by the vibration of the boy's cell phone; his eyebrows furrowed, and he put it away again after answering. He took the black shopping bag in one hand and bowed.

Ni-Ki didn't want to leave; he felt the strange necessity of staying by your side to comfort you, something he wasn't allowed to do due to his rookie contract.

"Just think about it..."

And he left, hiding the feeling of punching himself when he realized he didn't ask your name or at least saying his to you. He really wanted to at least find her again and would pray to all the gods above because a small part of his brain and heart told him to trust destiny, because if destiny put them together for a small moment, they would join them back since love must come and go.

Now, Nishimura Riki was a boy of many things. But he was definitely not organized in any shape or form—which is probably why he messed up his lines and had to sort out the papers from start to finish.

What’s worse is that his manager was a bit cranky today, which meant Riki was going to have to stay at the recording studio until he finished everything. God, why did this happen to him?

Meanwhile, you wait patiently at the Korean BBQ place, sending text messages to Riki asking where he was. It was cold out, so cold that if you breathe, you could see your breath up close.

Shivering, you type out another message to Riki, wondering if the boy was ditching you as a cruel joke.

“You’re freezing,” a voice pipes up, which makes you flinch back in shock, “sorry, didn’t mean to scare you there.”

You can’t help but appreciate how pretty he was. Pretty enough to be an idol like Riki, that’s for sure.

“I forgot to bring a coat,” you frown, “I thought I could handle the weather but my shivering says otherwise.”

The stranger only laughs, the sound of his laugh filled your ears like music. He was cute, really really cute.

“What are you doing here?” Sunoo asks, “A pretty girl all by herself?”

Pretty girl. Sunoo sure knew how to swoon a girl over, that’s for sure.

“Well, I was meeting up with your best friend,” you chuckle awkwardly, “but I guess he ditched me. Hasn’t answered my calls or messages at all.”

“I’m sure Riki wouldn’t do that,” Sunoo frowns, “he talks about you a lot you know, Sunghoon always tells him to shut up; but I think he’s just jealous he’s got nobody to boast about. There’s no way Riki would ditch you, maybe something came up,” Sunoo pauses, taking off his sweater, “anywho, wear this. It’s cold out, wouldn’t want you to get a cold.”

“Thanks Sunoo, but I really shouldn’t..” you say, “you’ll be cold if I take it.”

“What kind of gentleman am I if I don’t let you borrow my sweater?” Sunoo raises his eyebrows, “I’m serious lovely, take it.”

He helps place it over your shoulders, clapping happily as he sees you wear it. “So pretty~” he mumbles, which makes you blush a bright shade of red.

“Tell you what,” Sunoo says, “I’ll give you my number and ask Riki why he didn’t come when I get home and text you the reply. Don’t be sad over it, I’m sure he just had a lot on his plate… you know our manager’s been kinda cranky lately.”

You nod understandingly.

“Let’s go enjoy some KBBQ, eh? I’ll pay,” Sunoo waves his credit card teasingly, making you let out a soft giggle, “cmon now! It’s cold, let’s go!”

Even though you were kind of bummed about not being able to see Riki, Kim Sunoo made your night way better than you’d thought it would be.

Maybe you might start stanning enhypen after all.
