Hey guys, I know I’ve been gone for a bit. I’m real sorry, but I don’t think that I’ll be able to return fully within the next few weeks. Work has been super stressful (retail, amirite?) and won’t get better until after the holidays, and I’ve just found out that two grandparents are in the hospital (different sides of the family- one will be fine she just needs fluids and the other one is... an abuser to me) so my family life has been crazy, and I got Disney+ and it’s been so crazy. But I won’t be leaving anytime soon, just sort of... being a wallflower. I love all of you and I cannot wait until I can fully rejoin you and our beloved community. Thank you for your patience and the incredible community you’ve let me be apart of.

It’s been inspiring to read about how your family is preparing you to take over the business. My mentor tells me every family business faces the same challenges and milestones, no matter where in the world they're located.
My experience as a second-generation member has been similar to yours. I’ve been involved in the business for more than 10 years. During this time, I’ve had the chance to experiment and focus on the bigger picture as well as details.
While I’ve been able to make decisions and contribute meaningfully, I haven’t yet reached the point where I have autonomy on the same level as my father. While I can't wait to be fully in control one day, I trust the transition will happen naturally when the time is right.
Can you tell us how your family business is preparing you for taking over?
Allowing me to experiment as much as possible. They don’t want me to get caught up in the day to day operations, they want me to focus on the bigger picture.
connecting me with different people and resources.
Sending me to conferences abroad and within the country.
Reviewing my work on a weekly basis to guide me.
Setting targets to help me understand what needs to be done.
Recommending books and videos to watch.
letting me make my own decisions, regardless of whether they’re wrong or right
