MK1 Rain Theory/Idea
I have a theory/idea that Rain was a god but was cast down by his parents and became a mortal. Because I hoped for demigod Rain to be explored in this timeline, I don’t like the idea of Rain being a sorcerer. It’s not the worst decision since Rain can still be a well-written character, though I was still disappointed.
This idea came to me randomly so it’ll most likely be disjointed which I apologize for. I was inspired by Greek mythology. There is a story of Zeus stripping his children, specifically Apollo, of their powers and making them mortals so they learn a lesson.
Here is my theory/idea:
Born the youngest son of the gods Argus and Delia, Rain was a powerful god of water. He had a happy life with his parents and brothers- Taven and Daegon, but grew to be arrogant and believing mortals were lesser than him. This attitude led to his downfall. Alongside his brothers, Rain threatened to harm a country due to them not worshiping his family to his satisfaction. Disgusted by their children’s behavior, Argus and Delia stopped their children and planned to punish their children accordingly. With the help of Liu Kang, Argus and Delia decided to strip their sons’ godhood and have them reborn in the mortal realm- Outworld- so they learn to appreciate and care for mortals. Rain- regressed to a baby- would be raised as Zeffeero by a woman called Amara. He would grow to be kinder and ambitious, leading him to learn sorcery and become the kingdom’s high mage; I headcanon that Rain used his water magic to heal people as well. He’d live his life on the right path until Shang Tsung manipulated him and unleashed his darker impulses. His actions in the game would still be the same, including his sort of redemption in his tower ending.
In a future game, the Taven/Daegon plot could return though, instead of their quest is to prevent Armageddon, Rain, Taven, and Daegon would race to their family’s original temple (through memories and clues left by their parents) for the chance to regain their godhood as long as they are deemed worthy. Other characters can be involved by the villains learning this and trying to achieve godhood while the heroes try to stop them. This gives NRS the opportunity to bring back Taven, Daegon, Argus, Delia, and Blaze into the New Era. Rain’s story could end either with him being a god again but with a better understanding and care for mortals or he decides to stay mortal.
I don’t think this will happen in the game since I think the canon reason why Rain is not a god/demigod is because Liu Kang didn’t want to risk him becoming the arrogant, power-hungry person he was in previous timelines. Also, the Armageddon tower was already referenced in MK1 so it'll most likely not come back.
The Reincarnations
Name: Porphyra ‘Emery’ De’b la Rosa God of the Moon and Night Caretaker: Father Moon Gender: Gender Apathetic Nicknames: Lil Rose, Mery, Phyra, Fae Boy, Night owl, Stone Face. Age: 15 Status: Safe
Personality: Emery is a quiet individual, pretty eerie and often sneaks up on people by accident. They stay up at night since it’s the most calm for them. Spends their time learning magic and of the past incarnations of them and their brethren. They are the youngest of the three Princely Gods but have the biggest horns out of the three. (They are supposed to be more purple but the Picrew barely had purple :,)) As you can see, they are more fae like looking out of the others. They have very good sense of hearing and can hear things that are pretty far away. They sometimes use an intangibility spell as to walk past people who take too damn long. Will snap at someone if they dare joke about their missing brother. Very close with Father Moon.
Current worries: Fears for their older brother’s safety after he went missing.
Name: Josiah of the Riverside God of the Sun and Day Caretaker: Father Sun Gender: Male Nicknames: Snowball, softie, simp, angel. Age: 16 Status: Safe Personality: Josiah is the middle child of the Princely Gods, more extroverted than his two siblings but is still quite the shy one. Loves looking his best and making sure his siblings look good as well. Loves jewelry and wears a ton of it, got his siblings into as well. Has a bit of a friendly rivalry with Emery (cause sun and moon, day and night and all-). Is seen mostly during the day helping out around the kingdom, playing with the kids, talking to those who are lonely, basically being the kingdom’s resident bestie. He became closed off when his older sibling disappeared without a trace. Is a hopeless romantic and is always eager to hear the love stories of the elderly of the kingdom. A bit jealous of how his elder sibling often gets letters from potential suitors and admirers. Loves anything that is lemon related. Can someone balls of light and manipulate fire, plus is fire resistant. Will deflate when his older brother’s good name is being tarnished before getting enraged at the person. Very close with Father Sun. Current worries: Fears for his older sibling’s safety after he went missing.
Name: Daniel or Daisy Liu Pereira God of the Cosmos and the Unknown Caretaker: Father Eclipse Gender: Gender-fluid Nicknames: Golden child, Pretty boy, The elder one, the Sage. Age: 18 Status: Missing Personality: Sweet and shy, Daniel is the eldest of the Princely Gods. Is the most calm of the bunch and keeps his siblings in check whenever they go overboard with stuff. Smart, agile and gifted, he learned to use his abilities rather quickly. Loves mango flavored anything. Is almost as fashionable as Josiah and is also a hopeless romantic. Doesn’t really like being bombarded with love letters though. His third eye is able to see into different places of the Earth if he concentrates hard enough. A bit too trusting for his own good. Adores his younger siblings. Loves going out into the forest to find trinkets, cool rocks and flowers, usually keeps them in a magic vase so the flowers don’t wilt. He likes to sew and has made a few outfits for himself and his siblings. Finds mythical animals amazing, even those who don’t seem that interesting. Sometimes falls asleep when doing his studies and has to be brought back to his room as to have a good night’s rest, mostly getting there by Emery. Is close to Father Eclipse. Current worries: ???
Facts about Princely Gods:
They all have very enchanting voices that can LITERALLY enchant people if the three all sing together.
Their blood is gold.
Even though they are gods, they can still die, they will just be reincarnated. They have to be close to each other when they die though.
Almost all incarnations look similar: Sun incarnations light hair and eyes, Moon incarnations have dark hair and eyes and Cosmo incarnations are the exception, they can look like anything lol.
They do not have memories of their past incarnations so Sun, Moon and Eclipse are to teach them about so.
The Goddesses are always watching
And if you wish to know more… “What…?” (Speak with Father Moon) ”Oh, hello. Is there something you need?” (Speak with Father Sun) “Speak.” (Speak with Father Eclipse) You can ask the Celestial Fathers anything you want! You can add your own characters if you so wish, I can try incorporating them into the main story!

The Terrors
In the Celestial Fathers AU there have been these threats who look to kill the princes who have been titled 'The Terrors'. There are three of them and they reincarnate just like the princes do, and they always have one goal: to kill the princes. However, they always fail due to the Fathers' protection. In some incarnations they may turn into sirens, harpies, demons, anything to try and find a weakness in the Fathers and get to kill the princes. Their creator is unknown but they are around, such a sadistic bastard they must be...
But in this reincarnation, one of the Terrors is missing, there is only two. Just where might she be now...?
The door creaked open, golden light spilling from within.
It looked like heaven—as if a slice of something glorious had been tucked away.
Mythria reached a hand for it, but Ella got there first, swinging the door open with a grin.
“After you, m’lady.”
The room was warm when she stepped into it, Ella’s boots echoing after hers, and the pedestal in the center beckoned.
She gasped.
“It’s real.”
Beside her, Ella looked close to tears.
“It’s beautiful.”
And it was—the leather bound book was bracketed by a delicate over cover, twisting leaves and furling branches stretching across its length.
They stopped in front of it, climbing the pedestal.
Mythria wanted so badly to hold it, but couldn’t bear to touch it.
Hello, it seemed to say. I’ve been waiting.
Ella sniffled, and wiped a tear.
“You should do the honors.”
Mythria blinked at her as Ella wiped tears from her cheeks.
“Are you sure?”
Ella nodded, and Mythria turned back to the book.
It was so pretty. She hadn’t known anything could be this pretty—and after all of these years of searching, all the pain, she realized it was worth it.
Her fingers closed upon the book, and she cracked it open.
As soon as her eyes read the first line, her body seized, crumpling to the floor.
She shook, pain lancing through her, iron twisting along her bones.
Above her, Ella simply watched curiously.
She took a handkerchief out of her pocket, wrapping it around her hand in order to pick up the book.
Mythria let out a keen, panting, before she was able to push herself up.
“You knew that would happen.”
Ella raised a brow.
“Of course. I’ve done my research.”
“So then why—“
“I’m honestly surprised you’re still alive,” she continued, as if Mythria hadn’t said anything. “I thought it would kill you.”
Mythria snarled, legs too shaky to stand.
“Traitor.”
Ella hummed.
“I did tell you I was from the Golden Ones. You just assumed I had renounced them.”
“What? So you’re stealing priceless artifacts for some unknown gods? Ella, please—“
“We are the gods,” she corrected, and with the light shining down and the book clutched against her side, she looked like one.
Mythria pulled her knees to her chest as something warm stirred within her.
Ella made for the door.
“One day,” Mythria called, “I will come for you. And you will rethink your own godhood.”
Ella stopped at the threshold.
She grinned.
“I look forward to it.”
Inside her, the power of the book thrummed.
You are the god now.
Mythria smiled, and after a long moment, stood.
She hated traitors.
“If I am a god,” she said to herself, “then it is time for a reckoning.”
The vault trembled, as if it could sense the power growing in her, and delighted in the empty book being stolen away, now simply a book and not a power container.
Mythria was the power container now.
And she was going to show them exactly what a god looked like.
the insanity of never knowing without absolute certainty that there is a divinity and yet longing it to be true so wholeheartedly. the cursing and the begging to not be forgotten. the suffering and the righteous hatred. the wanting that it was not all for nothing. the terror of being right. the aching loneliness of being yourself because there is no one quite like you and so that means there will be no one who quite understands.
the endless cycle of the snake eating its own tail.
I’ve been thinking about godhood and girlhood a lot lately.
I don’t know how to be a girl and i don’t know how to believe in a god that might not even be there. There’s always a correlation between godhood and girlhood, begging to be seen and witnessed and believed in while simultaneously not being about to do anything to prove yourself. Being worshipped and praised while being objectified and torn down.
While god might now be a real singular thing or being I do believe that you can find god within other things
The sky, the trees, the animals, even the dirt
But I think most of the time people find god among girls.
Or maybe girls are more like martyrs, sacrificial lambs molded by their parents for a world that’s fucked
