Harry Potter AU: Beyond Two Souls
(Anyone that knows this game you already have an idea, anyone that hasn't seen Harry Potter or know about it SPOILERS)
Everyone knows that in order to create a Horcrux you need to kill someone and split your soul; sealing it into an object or person. So what if on the night Harry's parents were killed the killing curse rebounded and/or attached differently? Harry still became a Horcrux but Voldemort's soul wasn't dormant or hidden in the scar, instead, his soul became a ball of life essence and magic. Still able to interact with the living with magic but lives through Harry, attached by the scar with a thread. Voldemort can still move away from Harry but his scar will hurt after a distance, Harry calls Voldemort his Guardian, and Harry is in Slytherin. Surprise.
My headcannons:
Harry is in Slytherin.
Harry has a violent, borderline sadistic, switch when people he cares about are threatened.
Voldemort hated Harry when he was a bab but slowly learned to care for the child.
Voldemort constantly terrifies the Dursleys but Dudly is Harry's friend and loves Voldemort tricks.
Harry didn't want to call Voldemort the name of his parent's murderer so Voldemort gave him his real name, Tom.
Dumbledore is not happy about the arrangement or friendship of Harry Potter but does admit it's not necessarily a bad thing.
The diary wanted to leave the prison of the book and join Harry, making the book an enchanted book that saves everything the user writes in it, can only be requested in parseltongue.
