yoooo guys these wings my dad made look INSANE i can’t wait to try them tomorrow

I’m in awe of the lyricism of the masters, but its always, the simplicity that feels closer to the heart....
Maybe poets embellish everything too much. But, they are dreamers, who just wish to find beauty in ruin, in chaos, in tragedy and in death.....and Icarus was a tale of eternal tragedy through and through.
But his tale is hardly a warning, it is simply a lesson, to never be afraid of flying too high.
PLEASE I WANT ICARUS BACK YOU CAN REPUBLISH IT ANYWHERE JUST POST IT AGAIN I BEG YOU

I am pleased to be showing this collage at the Tension Fine Art group show Extempore 24 from 22 February – 2 March 2024
Maps to the Stars
Framed, 30cm x 40cm
Collage and pencil
£135
This collage incorporates a landscape by the wonderful painter Agnes Pelton and a Marshall Island stick chart, used to navigate the sea. The pencil grid is a nod to Agnes Martin (another great painter and source of inspiration), whilst doubling as a template for a cubomania.

Icarus meeting apollo
Batfam as my Favorite Greek Myths
Part 1?
Jason: Icarus
Arrogant. Cocky. Hot tempered. Icarus was too eager. Too young. Many blame the poor boy for his foolish actions, yet never consider how irresponsible it was for Daedalus to put him in this situation. A prodigal son turned a cautionary tale when he was just a boy.

Damien: Hercules
Cursed by a Mother. Transformed into a weapon as a boy. Hercules spent the rest of his life trying to gain forgiveness for his past mistakes.

Alfred: Chiron
Trainer of Heroes. When you love those who's job is to look after others, who looks out for them?

Bruce: Sisyphus
Sisyphus was cursed to relive the same burden every day due to his hubris in believing that his cleverness surpassed Zeus Himself. He ruled his kingdom with an Iron fist. Considering how Gotham's Rogues were inspired by Batman... Bruce may be pushing this rock up a hill for a long time.

(Exclaimer: None of the art is mine. I found it on Pinterest lol. I couldn't find the artists, so please tag credit in the comments if you recognize the artist. )
If you like the ideas, I could always do a one shot ;)
