Lady Stoneheart - Tumblr Posts

Jaime Lannister's life is a series of good intentions leading him closer to hell. He saves King's Landing from wildfire? He suffers condemnation. He innocently congratulates Robb Stark on his upcoming marriage? Now he's suddenly implicated in the Frey's betrayal. He can't win!

Lady Stoneheart Lowered Her Hood And Unwound The Grey Wool Scarf From Her Face. Her Hair Was Dry And

Lady Stoneheart lowered her hood and unwound the grey wool scarf from her face. Her hair was dry and brittle, white as bone. Her brow was mottled green and grey, spotted with the brown blooms of decay. The flesh of her face clung in ragged strips from her eyes down to her jaw. Some of the rips were crusted with dried blood, but others gaped open to reveal the skull beneath. Her face, Brienne thought. Her face was so strong and handsome, her skin so smooth and soft. “Lady Catelyn?” Tears filled her eyes. “They said… they said that you were dead.”

"The lady Stoneheart is different from Catelyn Stark and lost something about herself when she became a zombie" is interesting to me because on one hand, it is explicit in the text that the fire-zombies loses a bot of something by Beric but Beric died six times and is an outlier, on the other, it's not unreasonable to think that, if she survived the red wedding, she would have done the exact same thing anyway.

She thinks all her children but Arya (because she is looking for her) were either murdered or forced to marry the enemy. Why wouldn't she go on a warpath and continue a rebellion against the people who are responsible while looking for her daughter at the same time ?

Plus, when you actually look at her arc in the books you can actually see how more and more vengeful she gets before even the red wedding (her thinking of Theon's death and Cersei's are two clear exemples of this).

This is really, really good. Arya seems fated to meet Lady Stoneheart and (I believe) kill her/give her the gift of mercy. The reason is just not as straightforward as you thought.

arya meeting lady stoneheart is about closure. it’s about coming full circle. its about the cycle of life and death and rebirth. it’s about family. it’s about purpose. its about mercy and justice and grief and, yes, vengeance. but i don’t think its in a “ohh arya needs to learn revenge is bad” sort of way and i seriously doubt thats the effect this meeting will have, at least from the character’s perspective.

arya already knows revenge doesn’t make her feel any better. she’s under no illusions about that. she associates the ability to kill with survival and with good reason because, for better or worse, that what it means.

Arya edged farther into the room. Joffrey’s dead. She could almost see him, with his blond curls and his mean smile and his fat soft lips. Joffrey’s dead! She knew it ought to make her happy, but somehow she still felt empty inside. Joffrey was dead, but if Robb was dead too, what did it matter? (Arya, ASOS)

arya is aware that joffrey dying didn’t bring robb back nor did it make her happy. she still feels empty. in her own way this is fairly similar to the comments made by catelyn and ellaria - grown women and mothers with a lot more life experience then her.

When Morning Came, The Hound Did Not Need To Shout At Arya Or Shake Her Awake. She Had Woken Before Him

When morning came, the Hound did not need to shout at Arya or shake her awake. She had woken before him for a change, and even watered the horses. They broke their fast in silence, until Sandor said, “This thing about your mother…”  “It doesn’t matter,” Arya said in a dull voice. “I know she’s dead. I saw her in a dream.”

lol fuck arya killing lady stoneheart as if thats a satisfying or fitting end for both their relationship and cat in general. catelyn tully stark always has been characterized by her resilience and, despite her womanhood, her fighting spirit. in no world do i believe she will just roll over and let herself be killed (again)
