So i went on a trip with my family (mainly why I've disappeared for a while) and today my 5 year old cousin wanted me to play with her. She is genuinely the sweetest and smartest little ray of sunshine I've met, and since my brain is the way it is, it reminded me that the smallest littluns in lord of the flies were her age. And I can't even begin to describe the heartbroken I felt at the thought that such innocent beings like her, who are rightfully oblivious to the cruelty of the world, had to go through what the novel describes in that Island.

The circle became a horseshoe. A thing was crawling out of the forest. It came darkly, uncertainly. The shrill screaming that rose before the beast was like a pain. The beast stumbled into the horseshoe.

The blue-white scar was constant, the noise unendurable. Simon was crying out something about a dead man on a hill.
