Palettes of the sea!
These are my octopus and sting ray plushies I got from the ABQ Aquarium and Biopark. I got them on the same day for my birthday. Their names are Squib and Otto (Squib is the ray, he's a finger puppet. Otto is the octopus and he has suction cups and a beak printed on his bottom) and they are he/they boyfriends. They are in love
aquariums would get sooo much more money if they stopped making all the plushies just sharks and seals and turtles. you can do better. show me the sturgeon. the coelacanth. the trout

Giant manta rays are the largest rays in the world with wingspans up to 29 feet (8.8 m) wide and weights up to 5,300 pounds (2,404 kg).
Giant manta rays have the biggest brains of any fish studied so far. They use that brain power to learn, exercise their memory, distinguish between objects and even recognize themselves in the mirror.

Ay! (Blanket idol is best idol!) (Though don't tell him I chose Frye's team in this weekend's Splatfest...)
This is pretty last minute but I tried making another mermaid. Kaede Sakamoto as a Manta Ray(which I only releziase recently are different from Stingrays) and one as a Jellfish(google tells me its called a Tide Chaser? feel free to correct me if thats not it).
The mermaid arts are meh over all, but i wanted to get some use outta MerMay2024 tag. So there. Any other questions feel free to ask.
It’s not May any more but I’m still drawing these last three mermaids! No. 29 is a raymaid (not a specific ray, some sort of weird mashup of every ray I know how to draw). I have a terrible late-night version of this one from the 31st as well, since messing it up was what forced me to admit I wasn’t going to get them done in May. I plan to print these in a little book, so I’ll put the first attempt as an inset on the page with this one. Only two more to catch up on!
