Mc Being Human - Tumblr Posts
What if the Demons and angles in Obey me have never cracked their back, simply because they never needed to/can't? Like, what if that's like... just a human thing. Imagine one of the brothers complaining about their back hurting, and MC is just like "oh just crack you back," and the brother is like, "CRACK YOUR WHAT?! đ¨" and MC has to explain what 'cracking you back' means. Or, Imagine Solomon just stretches, and there's a loud 'pop', and everyone just automatically assumes he just broke his fucking back đ.
Physical Human things that freak Demons out
Musings
Humans have more endurance/Stamina and flexibility and general hardiness than either Angels or Demons. Sure Angels and Demons are super fast, super strong and magic, but I think the average human walking could outdistance a demon walking at the same pace. (Humans are pursuit predators after all)
As for hardiness, yeah humans are easy to kill - however, if they donât die they survive a whole hell of a lot, some of which would actually kill a demon)
IE Humans can survive losing limbs but its basically fatal to demons and angels. Humans can also get their limbs re-attached, but once a Demon or Angel looses a limb, itâs pretty much gone except in the most ideal of circumstances. (Their physiology makes it extremely complex and difficult, magic or otherwise to reattach)
This is mostly going to be about Demon reactions, because I think that Angels have either had enough exposure that theyâre chill about it, or theyâre able to keep their composure. Luke may be taken aback at first, but after you and Simeon explain that humans can just do that, he thinks itâs cool!
Headcannons for this are the Human introducing Just Dance or something and just winning by default bc no one else can do the moves, even if the MC has limited mobility or strength. Or them doing super mundane things like reaching behind them or twisting their back to look over. I also think Humans have more fluid motion than Angels or Demons bc of the flexibility and also bc we are full of fluid lol. Not necessarily graceful - just fluid. I also think we have a winder range of motion in general, like our joints
This is a continuation of the flexibility thing - Levi may stream occasionally and one time the MC was on the stream (accidentally or invited ect) and they give Levi a thumbs up and the chat and Levi absolutely lose their minds (doubly so for a hitchhikers thumb) because Demons donât have as wide a range of motion.
MC like twists in their seat to look at Barbatos one day while at the Demon Castle and Diavolo panics inside and almost instinctually casts some healing magic - but MC seems fine? Oh! Interesting, heâd like to learn more.
Satan and MC go on a walk one day and by the end of the walk Satan is astounded at how much stamina humans have. His usual walk (one that tires him out reliably) didnât have as much of an effect.
This would still happen if the MC needed mobility aids too, and might not happen with walking but would happen with other things. They might be able to work with their hands for longer or something similar.
If the MC is an athlete, I donât think they would be able to outspeed anybody at all but I do think that them being able to outdistance people is a thing. Like they run with Beel one time and though Beel is way faster, after a few loops or after the route is finished heâs unable to go any more, but the MC can still run. (I think out of the brothers, Levi and Beel have the most stamina, I also think Levi is the fastest swimmer, and Asmo is the most flexible)
One day Lucifer comes home to MC lying upside -down on the couch, their spine bent backwards, their head close to the ground, and their legs over the back - and he let out the most high pitched shriek MC had ever heard. They were just chilling, stretching a bit, really.
Belphegor loves how flexible MC is and how theyâre built. Itâs comfy and he can experience cuddles in new ways. Plus itâs fun to see the others freak out when the MC does things, though sometimes heâsâŚunnerved to say the least.
Asmo delights in watching how MC moves, and not just in a lustful way. He loves to watch you and notice little things about you.
Beel likes to move with you - walking, running, swimming, dancing, even handiwork, he likes to do it with you. Its a way for him to connect with you in a special way, doing physical activity together. (Not just sports and athletics but like, literally anything)
Satan is fascinated by new things, and wants to learn. This means, that heâs fascinated by and wants to learn about you! In any way possible. He thinks the way you move is super fascinating, doubly so because itâs you. Heâll ask you do do certain movements and tricks with your body in order to a) learn more about you (and humans in general, but mostly you) and b) see you move in fun ways. Additionally - this has some potential for the anti-Lucifer League
Levi is honestly in awe of how dexterous you are - even if the mc has limited mobility in their hands, you can still do some things with the buttons on the controller that he just cannot do. (Like, he can do normal videogaming motions, but he canât do ones humans can that involve stretching their hands out, or curling their fingers to hit some buttons) It fills him with awe, and at first heâs full of envy, but then things change. Heâll watch you playing, and sometimes might ask for help if heâs having trouble with some maneuvers
Mammon straight up uses you as a distraction, but also it backfires because it distracts him as well. RIP his schemes
Barbatos is thoroughly amused, both in the reactions of others and in the things you do to illicit those reactions,
Demons vs Human Joints
(The demons lose) Weird Physical Things Humans do that freak demons out - part two I guess? OG can be found Here
It was a brief, trivial thing, to stretch and crack multiple joints in their body. Brief and trivial to them, at least! Popping the nitrogen bubbles in the synovial fluid surrounding their joints was something that humans naturally did. To some it was a habit, to some it brought relief. Sometimes it just happened. But to Demons? That was not a sound bodies should be making.
Lucifer
âWould you care to explain that awful noise that just emanated from your body, MC?â
That reaction is absolutely a cover up for how genuinely concerned he is. Heâs only heard noises like that on a battlefield.
He had been assigned to keep you safe, and now itâs a desire he truly has. He acknowledges that he has failed to do so on several occasions and absolutely never wants that to happen again.
As soon as he heard it, his head whipped towards you, eyes roaming over to make sure you were okay.
Even though he knows it doesnât hurt you, every time you do it he instinctively checks you over.Â
Mammon
âThe Great Mammon demands for you to never make that noise ever again.â
The crack in his voice serves to undermine his command. As soon as he heard that noise, and knew the noise was coming from MC, he frantically grabbed MCâs shoulders.
Expertly checks for injuries, which to some may be surprising but only until one remembers heâs the second oldest, and has taken care of his siblings, and now heâs inspecting MC as he had inspected his brothers, countless times before.
âYouâre so weird, ya know. I donât know how to react to even half the things you do! - What even was that sound??â
He is very relieved it wasnât serious, but he got flustered when he realized his actions. âWell. Of course I knew humans could do that, I am the Great Mammon!â
Every time you do it around him, he perks up. If he had dog ears they would raise in awareness.
He doesnât quite know how else to react to it - sure, it might be fun to have MC do it to freak others out, especially his brothers. But the sound disturbs him too, just a little bit, and every time he hears it, although he knows youâre okay, worry spikes. So, he always perks up when he hears it.
Leviathan
âWHOA! Thatâs so cool!â
The first time Levi heard you crack your knuckles, he did a massive double take. See, he was in the unique position of knowing of the phenomenon but believing it was something that didnât actually happen, much like nosebleeds upon being aroused.
He wasnât as worried as some of the other demons were, since he was aware of the concept.
It seemed like he was a bit starstruck, to he honest. - âHumans can actually do that!? I thought it was something that had been made up for effect! He forgets his self consciousness and continues his musings.
Frankly, the discovery delights him and he asks MC to do it all the time. His brotherâs reactions to this deeply amuse him as well. Sometimes heâll also ask you to recreate scenes where the characters crack their joints.
Based on the joint MC cracked, the type of his eagerness/reaction is different.
Satan
âYou continue to surprise me, MC, Itâs truly fascinating to learn more about you. Can humans crack any of their joints?â
Satan was aware that human bodies could do some thoroughly weird things, (To non-humans) but as to the extent, and what exactly that entailed? That was something he had yet to find out. And, find out he would.
Similar to Levi, he requests for you to crack your joints, though he says itâs âpurely for academic interestâ
Which is total bullshit, thatâs only a part of it. He also actually likes the sound. Not in an âWhat a nice, soothing soundâ kind of way, in a âOh, that was a neat sound!â kinda way.
He, in turn, starts to share things demons can do with the MC. It becomes a mutually beneficial exchange.
He enjoys that you can easily freak some of his brothers out, Lucifer especially.
It makes him happy to learn more about humans, and specifically about you.
Asmodeus
âMC Dear.â Asmoâs tone is bright and bubbly but his expression reveals the fact that he is desperately trying to keep his composure. âWhat the fuck was that?â
He was aware that humans had more mobility and flexibility than demons, but many of the things MC did surprised him at first. And he loved watching them move, the fluidity of their movement was always fun and delightful to watch. Especially because MC was the one moving.
But he wasnât the most knowledgeable about the mechanics of human mobility, and frankly, that impossible (to him) maneuver, accompanied by those cracking sounds was highly alarming, Â
His natural instinct was to scream and rush over to them, checking for injuries. But MC seemed perfectly fine!
As long as MC was fine, there was no need for him to fret. But! This was something new they could do.
He would not request them to do it, but he pays attention for it! Hearing the cracking sound and seeing the accompanying movement sends shivers up his spine.
Beelzebub
âMC, you made that noise? Are you okay?â
The severity of his reaction really depends on the context. For example, of the MC cracks their knuckles before getting down to work on something, heâll just pause, look over them and ask if theyâre okay, either non-verbally or verbally. Once he gets confirmation, heâll nod and continue on his way. This happens every time the MC cracks their knuckles and other âlow severityâ joints.Â
However, if he hugs the MC and cracks their back, he will immediately loosen his hold (but not let go as he does not want to drop them and potentially injure them more) and goes into crisis mode, making sure that MC is not injured and preparing to cast magic or take them to get treated.
Beelâs nature as a protector is extremely evident when this happens. Internally, he is extremely concerned and only the worst case scenario and horrible memories are running through his head.
Externally though, itâs a different story. Heâs been through awful situations and does know how to keep his head in them. It doesnât mean heâs not affected. However, those effects manifest in different ways.
Belphegor
âAh, I see how it is. Specifically trying to unnerve me are you? Too bad - IÂ like it. â
Belphie knows humans can crack their joints. Before, it was something he found genuinely interesting about them, since itâs something both Angels and Demons cannot do.
Now, after everything thatâs happened, he still finds it fascinating, but he canât help but flinch. He knows the difference between a good crack and a bad one, so to say but he canât help it. Especially if the MC cracks their neck.
Heâll also briefly check on the MC, but not in the same way the others do. Usually heâll just peer at MC and when he confirms that nothing is wrong heâll shift his focus, preferring not to dwell on it.Â
He also likes to listen in when Satan and Levi talk to the MC about it, when he can. It doesnât happen a lot, because heâs often asleep and they usually ask the MC in private but when it does he pays rapt attention.
Barbatos
âAh, yet another new piece of information for me to file away.â
Barbatos is honestly the most chill about it, after the first time. He has seen a lot throughout his life, and just accepts that it is a thing that happens.
The first time though, was different, He genuinely did not know it was a thing. It slipped through the cracks, so to say as he had a lot of other stuff to focus on.
The MC cracks their joints and Barbatos, in a very businesslike manner, proceeds to examine them for injuries, and, finding none, prepares to cast some emergency magic as clearly the injury is internal. Genuinely he is very worried, but pushes it aside to handle things.
After the MC explains things, he calms down. Though his composure was never lost in the first place, relief is visible in his eyes.
He finds great amusement in watching other demons react to the sound and the discovery. He will play little pranks on the others with the MC as long as theyâre up for it.
Diavolo
âI never would have guessed! It seems there are more differences between Humans and Demons than initially thought. How wonderful!â
Diavolo did keep his composure when MC cracked their joints in front of him the first time, but he was much more openly concerned than Barbatos was.
âMC, what happened? Are you injured?â Magic sparkling at his fingertips in order to heal or teleport, whatever MC needed.
Once that is cleared up, he will also ask you to crack your joints again. Itâs interesting to him, and the more he understands about humans, the closer he gets to his goal. Not to mention, there may be a bit of a personal interest as well. ^J^
Heâll also ask Solomon about it! Sometimes though, heâll also try to crack his joints, but he never injures himself or overdoes it. Itâs more of a way for him to try to be closer to the MC. He just thinks itâs neat, and that it would be neat if he could do it too!
Also, he adds that little tidbit of information to the compiled knowledge on humans he maintains. Asks if there are any more things like that that Humans can do, and the MC can tell him about a multitude of things, such as being double jointed.
Solomon who gives off raw humanity after you actually get to know him. He's just a lovesick, scarily powerful, fool. He'll sit there for hours and ramble about magic and TSL and pacts and his work to you if you let him. Ask him about his star obsession, urge him to tell you stories about his travels and findings and adventures. But please, please remember that he's more than just some immortal sorcerer capable of great things, hold him from time to time, sit and just exist with him, please.
Let Solomon be human with you. He's so used to carrying the weight of humanity on his shoulders, sometimes he forgets he's only human, too. He might be fun and he might be strong and he might be wise, but it's been too long since he's had someone hold his hand and glide their thumb over his knuckles.
Please let him ramble about the rain or the way trees creak or the way stars twinkle like they're laughing. Please let him take you to different places and get excited with you over things he's purposefully never sought the answer to in order to keep a part of himself curious. Please sit with him in the silence of each other and just let him let his guard down.
Solomon who wants to be human with you. Solomon who is human with you.
*Someone is trying to break into Cocytus hall*
MC:*Looking at Solomon and frowning* Did you lock the front door?
Solomon:*Nodding* Yes, I locked the door.
MC: I don't think it was lockedâŚ
Solomon: I know I locked the!-
*Sound of glass breaking in the distance*
MC:âŚ.
Solomon: Ha! Hear that? They had to break a window! Now are you going to take care of them or shall I?
MC:*Gesturing for Solomon to go ahead* Have fun.
Solomon:*Pulling his magic wand out of thin air and ďżźtwirling it* Oh, I will~
Humans Are Confusing
Alright. First time posting an actual anything on Tumblr, so let's see how this goes. Ran into a post on here recently and haven't been able to get it out of my mind since, so I kinda wanna ramble.
I like to think that in the Obey Me universe, humans and demons are just Built Different when compared to each other. I also like to think that demons don't truly know a lot about humans. They think they do, or that humans are easy to predict/understand. But there are wrong and having Solomon and Mc around just proves it to them.
Again. Humans and demons are built different. I like to think about the possibility of the human body/mind being able to do things a demons body/mind could never and that absolutely snaps the brothers' minds. So I have thought of a few things I could make funny scenarios out of.
Cracking Bones:
Humans crack all sorts of bones and joints all the time. I know I sure do, mainly my back, fingers and neck. Well, so do Solomon and Mc. They both do it all the time, especially Solomon, and neither thought anything of it when they first started staying in the Devildom. Neither knew that demons can't crack their bones.
The first time Mc cracked their back when stretching, every brothers head whipped towards them. Upon seeing that that sound came from Mc, horror settled in. And even more shock occurred when Solomon, who was nearby, said "Nice. Sounded like that felt good." and Mc, who they all expected to suddenly fall to the floor or something, simply straightened themself and said "Yep. Been needing to do that for a while now." and walked out of the room completely fine. No one knew what the hell just happened.
Demons can't do that. That sounded like a bone fucking breaking so how in the Devildom is Mc okay?!?!
Still in a shock, Mc came back in and noticed the brothers' state. They asked Solomon what was up and he had no clue. So they asked. Only Lucifer was able to shake himself our of his stupor enough to ask the question.
And this left Mc and Solomon both very confused. "Can you guys not do that?" and all the brothers frantically shook there heads. With a chuckle, Solomon explained that humans could simply move their bones and joints in a way that resulted in a cracking sound. It was something that actually resulted in relief, in pressure being taken off those points.
Then he promptly stood up and swung his torso, multiple cracking sounds filling the room from his back and then he bent his fingers one by one, each motion resulting in another crack. Then he walked up to Mc and they both left the room, completely fine. Asmo almost passed out that day.
And now all the demons and angels have a short panic whenever Mc or Solomon crack something until they remember that it's apparently normal for them.
The need for socialization:
Demons can and have gone centuries alone. Whether it was self-induced or a punishment, they will be fine in the long run. Hell, even some of the brothers can go a couple months without socializing (Levi and Belphie) and have no problems. Isolation is no life threatening thing for them. But it is for humans.
The brothers never knew what could happen to a human left isolated for too long until Mc and Solomon started talking about is to each other. It was a long conversation about the effects and risks of it.
Humans can develop physical and mental disease and illness from isolation. Heart problems, depression, mental decline, hallucinations, extreme anxiety, increased blood pressure, even insanity.
Why? Could humans not just...be okay? Why would they get all these problems if they isolated for so long? That doesn't happen to demons, or even angels. So, they started asking questions, all of which made Mc and Solomon realize how these topics, which are sort of common knowledge among humans, are very much unknown to the people of the other realms
And so they explained. Explained how humans were built to be social, to depend on each other physically and mentally. While they are capable of surviving alone for a while, or even a whole lifetime, they will still develop problems. Isolation can literally alter the brain chemistry of a human. They brought up the fact that Mc doesn't like to be alone for too long, getting lonely and too far into their own head when they get ignored. The fact that Solomon, who has gone dangerously long without contact, finds the subtle ways to latch himself onto people or goes somewhere with lot of people and lets himself be with them, to feed off their energy and be human again.
Let's just say that, after this conversation, everyone made an effort to no longer ignore Mc or Solomon for too long.
(I may find more of these ideas so stay tuned?)
