Adorable Human Things
You know, I actually do believe that there is more kindness in the world than there is evil. Call it naivety or foolish optimism but I do think that there is so much wholesomeness in the human race. To support this statement, I will list down things that makes humans adorable.
1. Humans look out for the good of others, sometimes putting other's need before their own.
2. Humans say "bless you" when someone sneezes.
3. No matter what the age, humans dangle their feet when they can't reach the floor.
4. Whenever visiting a foreign place, the first word that humans will learn is hello i.e bounjour, hola, ni hao, konichiwa.
5.Humans get "attacks of happiness" when it's a cold day and they get under their blanket.
6. Any human has a fandom that they belong to, and in that fandom they interact with other people who share the same interests.
7. Humans love a sweet treat! Sometimes they even save money just to buy a treat for themselves.
8. Humans listen to music that has a catchy rhythm, oftentimes not minding the lyrics.
9. When taking a wacky photograph, a human's default pose is a peace sign.
10. Humans hug each other for comfort! When they are particularly excited, they hug tighter and sometimes lift a person off the ground.
Those are just some of the things that makes humans adorable :D

as an aromantic i have some pretty romantic things i fall in love with in people. here's a list!
the sound of laughter. just pure unfiltered joy after someone lets down their guard. it tugs at my heartstrings in the way that makes my chest hurt. especially little caught off guard giggles. just-
people doing quick maths in whatever language they learned maths in. muttering under their breath in the way they think the fastest. its one of my favourite things living in a trilingual family. my oma counting game scores in german, my dad helping with maths problems by muttering through calculations in spanish
people monologuing about their interests. not giving the overview of their interest, im talking impassioned, enflamed ranting about their favourite thing. i could listen for that for hours, whether i know everything or nothing about the subject. the oral essay with the analysis of hundreds of hours of thinking about this
pauses in music to do human things. sliding down guitar strings to the next chord in a rip of twang. breathing right before long notes or passionate sections. a band getting ready to play their favourite part of their favourite song
people stopping for bubbles. not everyone will swipe, but there's always a beautiful pause as they make way for wonder, regardless of age. bubbles are just a timeless thing
both the act of falling asleep against someone and having a creature fall asleep against you. there's such tender trust and love needed to fall asleep with someone, and then on top of that to be leaning against them?? incredible time and place for a nap. also the sheer willpower to sit so long after being entrusted. having someone or something sleeping on you is so nice, and shows the patience and care that someone holds. just the "im stuck" look with a cat in ones lap or a head on ones shoulder
id love to hear other people's favourite human things. honestly i need it with the political climate (and the history of terrorism class i'm taking
Humans Are Confusing
Alright. First time posting an actual anything on Tumblr, so let's see how this goes. Ran into a post on here recently and haven't been able to get it out of my mind since, so I kinda wanna ramble.
I like to think that in the Obey Me universe, humans and demons are just Built Different when compared to each other. I also like to think that demons don't truly know a lot about humans. They think they do, or that humans are easy to predict/understand. But there are wrong and having Solomon and Mc around just proves it to them.
Again. Humans and demons are built different. I like to think about the possibility of the human body/mind being able to do things a demons body/mind could never and that absolutely snaps the brothers' minds. So I have thought of a few things I could make funny scenarios out of.
Cracking Bones:
Humans crack all sorts of bones and joints all the time. I know I sure do, mainly my back, fingers and neck. Well, so do Solomon and Mc. They both do it all the time, especially Solomon, and neither thought anything of it when they first started staying in the Devildom. Neither knew that demons can't crack their bones.
The first time Mc cracked their back when stretching, every brothers head whipped towards them. Upon seeing that that sound came from Mc, horror settled in. And even more shock occurred when Solomon, who was nearby, said "Nice. Sounded like that felt good." and Mc, who they all expected to suddenly fall to the floor or something, simply straightened themself and said "Yep. Been needing to do that for a while now." and walked out of the room completely fine. No one knew what the hell just happened.
Demons can't do that. That sounded like a bone fucking breaking so how in the Devildom is Mc okay?!?!
Still in a shock, Mc came back in and noticed the brothers' state. They asked Solomon what was up and he had no clue. So they asked. Only Lucifer was able to shake himself our of his stupor enough to ask the question.
And this left Mc and Solomon both very confused. "Can you guys not do that?" and all the brothers frantically shook there heads. With a chuckle, Solomon explained that humans could simply move their bones and joints in a way that resulted in a cracking sound. It was something that actually resulted in relief, in pressure being taken off those points.
Then he promptly stood up and swung his torso, multiple cracking sounds filling the room from his back and then he bent his fingers one by one, each motion resulting in another crack. Then he walked up to Mc and they both left the room, completely fine. Asmo almost passed out that day.
And now all the demons and angels have a short panic whenever Mc or Solomon crack something until they remember that it's apparently normal for them.
The need for socialization:
Demons can and have gone centuries alone. Whether it was self-induced or a punishment, they will be fine in the long run. Hell, even some of the brothers can go a couple months without socializing (Levi and Belphie) and have no problems. Isolation is no life threatening thing for them. But it is for humans.
The brothers never knew what could happen to a human left isolated for too long until Mc and Solomon started talking about is to each other. It was a long conversation about the effects and risks of it.
Humans can develop physical and mental disease and illness from isolation. Heart problems, depression, mental decline, hallucinations, extreme anxiety, increased blood pressure, even insanity.
Why? Could humans not just...be okay? Why would they get all these problems if they isolated for so long? That doesn't happen to demons, or even angels. So, they started asking questions, all of which made Mc and Solomon realize how these topics, which are sort of common knowledge among humans, are very much unknown to the people of the other realms
And so they explained. Explained how humans were built to be social, to depend on each other physically and mentally. While they are capable of surviving alone for a while, or even a whole lifetime, they will still develop problems. Isolation can literally alter the brain chemistry of a human. They brought up the fact that Mc doesn't like to be alone for too long, getting lonely and too far into their own head when they get ignored. The fact that Solomon, who has gone dangerously long without contact, finds the subtle ways to latch himself onto people or goes somewhere with lot of people and lets himself be with them, to feed off their energy and be human again.
Let's just say that, after this conversation, everyone made an effort to no longer ignore Mc or Solomon for too long.

Humans as a species are fundamentally coded to find companionship, form groups, to come together in packs as a way of safety.
As they evolved, however, they met one another, they clashed, and they fought. They found the worst in companionship and found the best in it too.
They shared information, communicated, and spoke. They built towers taller than the clouds and climbed the tallest mountains. They dug into the heart of their earth, filled only with curiosity and the prospect of finding new information about their home's past. They went past where any animal in their world had been, pushed past the limits of evolving featherless, and looked to the stars.
They soon found themselves racing against one another, to push past the limits of their home, a place they'd conquered and charted many years before. They entered Orbit, then set foot on their moon.
Then it was silent.
They'd assumed they had broken all possible goals, they couldn't reach farther than the moon in any visible future.
And the humans went about their lives, still thinking, of course, but forgetting what lied beyond their clouds and silly moon.
They developed their technology, made television that could easily be mistaken for live images, broke the speed of sound, dove into the farthest depths of the ocean, and they did all this, with the help of their creations.
Humans, as a species were made to find companionship.
They found that in these lifeless clumps of wires and servos. They found this.. love and empathy for something that was little more than an empty husk with no soul.
They programmed their creations' first words to be, "Hello, World."
They gave them hearts, empathy, love. They taught them what it meant to be human, to experience boundless curiosity, and to feel the desire to find the answers to their universe.
Robots as a species were made to find companionship.
The humans knew they might not last long. They made time capsules and sent them into the boundless depths of space. They sent satellites to follow after the capsules, then Rovers after the satellites, then nothing.
Their creations were able to find that companionship their species longed for, from within the stars. The robots cheered, celebrated and quickly lead these new companions back to their homeworld, to show what their creators had been able to accomplish in such a long time.
Robots were made to find companionship, yes.
But humans? Humans were meant to destroy themselves.
I'm okay with failures, but people's high expectation kills me.
They were all asking why, while the answer itself doesn't exist.
So they ended up making their own conclusions and believing it.
Human things, i guess.
