MIROH: A Stray Kids MazeRunner! AU
Reader-insert: Female (1st person) Pairing: Changbin x Reader (ot9 x reader friendships) Genre: Dystopian, MazeRunner!au, Romance Warning: mentions of death / death | anxiety / mentions of anxiety | Read at your own risk (may add more tags) Word Count: Projected (planned) three-part story / Each part 15k - 20k+ words (because I don’t have any self-control when it comes to details)
Progress: I have 16.4k written so far of the first part, so I feel like I have good enough of a head start to begin posting. Intro/short first chapter to gauge interest should be coming soon.
A/N and Disclaimer: This is all completely fiction, obviously, and all credit goes to James Dashner for the Maze Runner series. Many themes and general scenarios I use will be taken from those books, so I highly recommend them! They’re great reads and personal favorites of mine. That aside, other scenarios I write will be ones that I have come up with myself, so there will be a blend. Another thing, I have written Changbin (at the beginning at least) in his “dark/tough boy” persona. I understand that it is a persona and that his personality in real life is not dark like his concept is. However, as the story progresses, you’ll (hopefully, if I write it right lol) see the reasoning behind this. I just wanted to put that out there so that people didn’t get offended. Gotta cover all my bases! :)

[10:05] ~ Late ~
you were holding your phone up to your face, the ringing sound echoing in your empty hallway. you've been trying to call your boyfriend Chan for an hour now, but he hasn't been responding to any of the calls.
you gave up and slid down the wall, soon hitting the floor and hugging your knees. you hated times like these. times where you needed Chan the most, but he just didn't show up. times where your own mind started to nag at you, where voices started to fill your head due to all the stuff going on in your life. you thought dating Chan will help since he understands these problems, but with him always being late... nothing could help.
soon after you started to quietly cry to yourself you heard the door open and quick steps approach you. Chan's strong arms wrapped around you as he knelt next to your shivering figure and he leaned his forehead against your head.
"shhhhh baby... i'm here now... i'm so sorry i didn't pick up your calls, but i knew what was wrong so i had to rush home..." he softly whispered into your ear, his warm breath wandering across your skin.
his hands rubbed your arms comfortingly and soon you felt yourself melt into his touches, your tears drying and your mind slowly calming down, blocking all the bad away.
he picked you up and carried you to your shared bedroom, gently placing you on your bed before crawling under the sheets with you. his arms snaked around your waist and sweet nothings kept leaving his lips, making their way into your mind. his fingers drew little figures on the skin of your waist and his lips pecked the skin beneath your ear.
"i'm sorry for being late love" he mumbled against your skin, clearly upset by his own actions. "i promise to better myself... i promise to fight against those voices together with you" was the last thing you heard before exhaustion hit you and you drifted off into a deep sleep.
no matter how late Chan was, you couldn't stop yourself from loving the boy and you knew you never would stop this love.
