Babettes note — GIRL BYE dude the whole MK game has had a chokehold on me so I’ve been obsessed with the lore & the characters so I’d figured I’d write something for one of my favorites!! Sorry if some of these things seem inaccurate I’m still learning about the lore so BARE WITH ME😭 anyways enjoy! Besitos💋!

Dating Kano is a rollercoaster no doubt, and you as a person have to be a rollercoaster if you are interested in him romantically so His unpredictable and often mischievous personality keeps you on your toes and maybe either make you happy with his decisions or absolutely pissed, but it's also what makes your relationship exciting. You've learned to adapt to his quirks, and it's taught you to be flexible and patient.

Kano's sarcastic and twisted sense of humor often leads to playful banter between you two. You share a unique connection where you can exchange snarky comments, even in the most dire situations. Your relationship is built on a foundation of teasing and laughter, a coping mechanism in the chaos of the Mortal Kombat world.

Despite his rough exterior, Kano is fiercely protective of you. Not necessarily in the way he will lock you up and keep you away from others but he definitely has the average jealous and possessive type issues, He might not admit it openly, but he'll go to great lengths to ensure your safety and make sure your only his. It's not uncommon for him to step in when you're facing danger, and his actions speak louder than his words.

Kano might be an asshole or seem heartless but he isn’t entirely cold, for him to even take you into consideration for a romantic relationship genuinely takes a-lot, so You're one of the few people if not only one who gets to see Kano's vulnerable side or see him acting like “ a pussy “ is what he calls but at the end you and him know you’ll won’t judge. It takes probably awhile but at the end He confides in you and trusts you with his secrets and things he has done that he isn’t too fond of, creating a process of making a deep connection between you two.

Your love story is far from conventional. Kano's connections to the Black Dragon and the chaos of the Mortal Kombat world make for a unique, twisted romance. The unpredictability of your life together has its own kind of allure, and you've embraced it with open arms. But Since you two have different “ jobs “ and come from different backgrounds, having the rumor going around that Kano is dating someone will be a shocker and matter of fact controversial and not safe especially knowing that you can be used against him within the whole MK war to gain information, or simply have him join the good side

You've learned to balance your relationship with Kano with your own principles and sense of right and wrong. It's a constant struggle, but your love for him keeps you going. You're often torn between your loyalty to the forces of good and your affection for a man deeply entrenched in the world of crime and chaos. If you are or were on the good side for the beginning and slowly started developing feelings you definitely had a break down on everything you believed on and what was right and wrong, it took Kano to convince you it’d be okay, but it sounded like he was trying to convince himself more than you since he was in the similar situation

When you're with Kano, even simple dates turn into adventures. Whether it's a night at the underground fight club or a spontaneous getaway to some far-off, exotic location, you're always in for a wild ride. Your relationship is anything but ordinary, but hey who said what was a bad thing!

There are times when Kano's teasing and selfishness hurt you. He has a way of pushing your buttons, and you've developed a thick skin as a result. Him being a tease and finding a joke out of everything sometimes he unintentionally treats you like a child and likes to think you need him usually because it’s an ego boost and or he likes your reaction and frustration But you can also give as good as you get, and your dynamic is one of mutual understanding and resilience.

To keep your romance hidden from prying eyes, you and Kano have developed an intricate system of secret codes and signals. It's not only a practical way to communicate discreetly but also a fun and bonding aspect of your relationship.

despite the whole dating thing it’s like flirting is his love language, even infront of others he will always refer you as “ Baby “ , “ Sweetheart “ , Sugar “ , “ Peach “ and “ babe “ and no one really pays any focus on it because that’s just how Kano naturally is, speaking of affection, he definitely is more on the sexual side like groping, ass grabbing, intense kissing, hands on waist and hips, it’s usually rare to have a soft and cuddly moment with him

You and Kano have become skilled at resolving conflicts. Your disagreements may be passionate, but they're never detrimental to your relationship. You've learned the art of compromise and finding common ground, even when your loyalties pull you in different directions.

Kano couldn't believe his eyes as he watched Erron Black, a rival he had crossed paths with many times in the past, shamelessly flirting with you.

Erron constantly looking at you up and down flashing his charming smile trying his hardest to make you feel enchanted by him,

As Kano watched from Afar His jaw clenched, and a dangerous glint flashed in his eye.

You and Kano have had some tension between you two before, recently you guys almost shared a kiss 2 weeks ago on a mission on a military base but obviously went to shit as it was ruined when Sonya and Johnny made a surprise ambush with Cassie& the others BUT THAT IS BESIDES THE POINT ( lmk if u want a singular fic on that)

As Erron Black continued his charming advances, Kano decided he'd had enough. He swaggered over, his usual bravado on full display. "Well, well, what's goin' on here?" he sneered, casting a knowing glance at you.

Erron raised an eyebrow, not one to back down from a challenge. "Just havin' a friendly chat with your lovely friend here, Kano," he replied, his eyes locked with yours.

Of course Kano's response was a mixture of his characteristic sarcasm and intimidation. "Friendly, eh? Y'know, darling, this one here might be a good shot with his guns, but I'm the real danger."

Erron chuckled, his voice smooth as whiskey. "Well, now, Kano, I've heard about your dangerous streak, but I reckon we're all just tryin' to have a good time, aren’t we hun “ he says the last 3 words looking at you

You felt like a pawn in a bizarre showdown between these two strong personalities. Kano's actions were driven by his jealousy and possessive nature, but there was an underlying concern for your feelings.

Kano leaned in closer to you, his voice dropping to a dangerous whisper. "You see, sweetheart, he might be good with a gun, but I've got a silver tongue to match."

Erron Black, undeterred, leaned in from the other side. "Now, sugar, you don't have to choose just yet. We can all have a little fun."

As the bickering went on and on it was extremely obvious Kano isn’t down for a good time and doesn’t like sharing what is his, as it continued, you couldn't help but find the absurdity of the situation amusing.

Kano's antics, while often misguided, were a testament to the depth of his affection for you and the way he tried to assert his presence, even in the face of competition from someone as charismatic as Erron Black.

Kano's grin widened as he locked eyes with Erron. "A competition, then? Winner gets a kiss from the lovely Y/n."

Erron smirked, accepting the challenge. "You're on, Kano. May the best man win."

In the end, Erron Black may have started the flirtatious banter, but Kano's presence was a bold reminder that you were a coveted individual, and he was willing to go to great lengths to make sure you knew it. The flirting contest, despite its chaotic and comical moments, was a testament to the unconventional dynamics at play.

This is a little backstory of one of my other Fanfic Series of “ May The Best Man Win “ so if you’d like you can read them to get a little background on which this was based on!! As both of you were called to seek any material assistance from special forces, you out of all people had to be paired with Kano to look privately further into the military base making you think why couldn’t you get paired with Erron or skarlet

but of course Kano didn’t mind, and you wouldn’t either If he wasn’t such a horn dog, you are lucky enough if you could even get him to shut up for 5 minutes, but that is always ruined by another flirt comment towards you, flattering but annoying.

Slight time goes by, the occasional ducking and hiding and whispering, the occasional compliments from Kano, the occasional telling him to shut up and he rarely does, what you didn’t expect was to actually share a moment he earlier suggested during the mission like a hundred times

The air was thick with tension as you and Kano embarked on a clandestine mission, venturing into the dark corners of a military base in the midst of the Kronika Chaos. The night was your ally as you moved silently, shadows concealing your every step.

Kano, always one to seize an opportunity to flirt with you, guided you to a secluded area, away from the prying eyes of your allies who were on the mission with you. His grin was a mixture of mischief and anticipation. "Well, luv, looks like we've found ourselves a little hideaway. Time to make the most of it."

You chuckle at one of his attempts to do something risky at a place of work and say while keeping a look out for anyone coming “ yeahhh, over my dead body Kano. “

As the two of you found cover in the shadows, the tension between you heightened. The gravity of the mission was momentarily eclipsed by the magnetic pull drawing you closer to Kano.

His voice was a low murmur, his breath brushing against your ear. " aww don’t be a sore luv, What do you say we make this mission a bit uhh more memorable?"

The moment hung in the air, the world fading away as Kano's lips accidentally brushed against yours as you turn your head to face him, Time seemed to stand still, and the pressure of making sure you complete this mission without issues ceased to exist in that stolen moment.

As the time both of you realized how serious and intense the air became so quickly, you completely forgot about your surroundings that you guys are in a vulnerable stop to be attacked, so as you guys decide to fulfill in what seemed right

Looks like the universe had other plans. The sudden arrival of Sonya, Johnny, and their allies like Cassie and Jacqui, shattered the clandestine scene. The promise of the kiss remained suspended, a promise interrupted by the abrupt intrusion.

Johnny Cage, ever the obnoxious showman, raised an eyebrow. "Well, well, what's going on here? Our lovebirds trying to spice up the mission?"

That snarky comment earned a embarrassed eye roll from you but a proud smirk from Kano

Sonya's stern gaze cut through the tension since she wasn’t wanting to deal with any bullshit right now. "Save it, Cage. We're on a mission, not a romantic escapade."

Kano, undeterred, grinned at the interruption. "Oi, it's not my fault the universe is conspiring against a bit of fun."

Let’s just say that embarrassing moment that Johnny will never stop bringing up Everytime you see him, certainly made that mission memorable like Kano wanted

As the mission continued, the tension lingered, adding a layer of complexity to your interactions. The promise of the almost-kiss remained unfulfilled, and Kano's sly remarks fueled the unresolved desires.

Occasionally Kano would try to recreate that moment but instead actually get a kiss from you, but after the surprise ambush you realized you couldn’t let your guard down during work again

➨ The blazing sun shone brightly upon the city of Megapolis, rings of clouds surrounded the city, and everyone was peacefully working or casually enjoying their time with friends or family. You and MK played games in an arcade among the restaurants and entertainment centres.  

➨ The both of you were trying to beat a boss on the final level, and after some intense focus, you finally defeated the game. "Oh yeah!" You shouted in unison, giving each other a high five. Mk reached in for a hug. "Alright, MK and Y/N! The ULTIMATE power couple!"  

➨ MK then gave you a peck on the cheek before lifting you up and twirling in joy. While you wait for all the tickets to come out of the machine, you hear Mei running into the arcade in the distance and waving her phone to catch your attention. 

➨ "You guys! Check this out!" Mei seemed concerned, and once you and MK looked into her phone, it showed a LIVE video of the silver and gold demons terrorising the city again. MK's face immediately changed into a heroic look, and Mei summoned her motorcycle gear, with a prepared expression.

➨ When Mei gestured to come along, MK leaned his hand towards you and let you come along with the duo. "C'mon Y/N! We've gotta go stop them." He says to you. You have been recently training with MK all the things he learnt from the Monkey King, and you were ready to join your first battle. 

➨ MK pulled out his staff, and you held onto him tightly. It began to instantly extend to the sky, and you saw Yin and Jin manage to steal a bunch of celestial artefacts and use them to cause problems on one side of the city.  

➨ Once you spotted a safe place to land, you noticed Mei's signature neon green trail on the road. You and MK landed in the middle of the road while Mei parked her motorcycle and pulled out her dragon sword. 

➨ While Yin and Jin were menacingly cackling, you took out a sword that MK got from searching through Monkey King's storage up at Flower Fruit Mountain. Mei and MK fought Jin and Yin, and the silver and gold demons threw celestial artefacts at the duo. You managed to dodge and use your sword to hit any approaching items coming in front of you.

➨ Suddenly, Mei turned her motorcycle into an aircraft with the help of MK, and once you were going to help your friends, some rubble from a nearby building managed to crumble and fall onto you.

➨ Other than the fact that you were stuck, you were alright. Suddenly, you heard Mei's scream, and MK tried to go and help her, but the silver and gold demons managed to knock him off his staff, and he couldn't reach for it. Despite some injuries, you desperately got out of the rubble, but once you tried to get your sword, it broke.

➨ "Mei! MK! NO!" Now panicking, you helplessly watch Mei and MK fall from the sky, and with a sudden rush of adrenaline coursing through your veins, something sparked within you - literally.

➨ In the blink of an eye, you ran at lightning speed and climbed up to the skyscraper where Yin and Jin watched your friends fall. Then, you leap, grab both of them and land on a rooftop.

➨ Mei and MK opened their eyes and noticed you were showing off the moves you'd learnt from MK, but with every punch and kick, an electric shock was sent onto Yin and Jin. They were so impressed by the new powers that you'd gotten and decided to help you once MK found his staff, and Mei got her sword back.

➨ Finally, you, MK and Mei managed to defeat Yin and Jin, and they disappeared with the help of smoke bombs. But Mei and MK were more focused on you getting new electric powers.

➨ "OMG Y/N! You got some sick electric powers! How come you've never told us?" Mei patted your back as a gesture of congratulations, but you were still recovering from such an experience. "I don't even know I had electric powers. . ." You spoke in a shocked tone, and MK noticed your uneasiness.

➨ "Can you control them?" MK questioned you, and nothing happened as you tried to summon your powers willingly. You gave MK and Mei a look that told them you couldn't do it, but that's when MK approached you slowly. "Well, whatever you got going on, I'll ensure you learn how to control your powers."

➨ He gave you a comforting smile, and you felt less uneasy with your new powers before Mei exclaimed. "Now that you think about it, you guys give 'power couple' a WHOLE new meaning."

➨ Later that day, you and MK went back to his place, stayed in his room, and played more video games. Just to get your mind off all the events happening today, and just when you were just having fun, you realised it was getting late, and you needed to return to your place.  

➨ However, as you began to get ready to leave, MK volunteered to walk you home, and you felt so happy that you weren't heading back alone. During your walking, you both ended up having some small talk about how everything has been going.

➨ You noticed how he's become more secretive ever since MK took his job as Monkie Kid seriously. "Hey MK, are you okay there?" You sounded sincere as you took his hands, and MK looked like he was holding back his words but seemed to laugh it off.

➨ You stop dead in your tracks and pull MK closer. "Listen here, I don't know what's going on, but you know you can talk to me about anything. When you're ready, I'm all ears." You gave him a tight hug before he smiled in appreciation. "Thank you Y/N"

I would kill for Mortal kombat x Autistic Reader fics like I'd love to see how the ruthless and stone cold characters would react to someone with a disability having a romantic interest in them like most of them don't know what a mental disability is til they see the autistic reader act that way and learn about those things through the reader and even know what things are offensive to them and how the reader functions especially with how they don't get things but can rant about the things that they're passionate about where it's like they're showing off that skill and knowledge

Especially with them being old that they wouldn't know those terms and how some research was formed by nazis that made an unhealthy spectrum that's a number line where high functioning means more people would prefer to deal with you more and low functioning where everyone hates you, where now its a little pie chart where it shows areas to improve on whilst others are fine

Even imagine an autistic reader that's hyperfixated on Johnny Cage's movies where the reader can be the president of the fan club, like they never shut up about those movies they know more well than the Bible or basic mathmetic problems

It would also be more cute that the non-earthrealmers have no idea about this and they think that the reader is acting weird and strange til reader is like "oh sorry if im behaving weird, I behave like that cause I'm autistic" and they have a long pause of silence before they ask about it, learning that it's something that's not really treated well in Earthrealm which 60/40 chance they'd get pissed once learning the bad effects for being autistic such as companies like Autism Speaks treating it like a disease and not a disability, not being able to move/migrate to certain parts of Earthrealm cause of that disability, Autistic moms immediately being at fault for a minor problem with their kids, and many other things where it only makes them more judgemental of Earthrealm's etiquettes and treatments towards that sort of thing where it makes the other realms seem more merciful towards that sort of topic

‘You comfortable there sweetheart?’ You asked Syzoth, who was wearing a thick sweater, tucked tightly under a blanket, cuddled up against you to the point where every part of his body was practically cloaking you from sight; His eyes were closed in content as he throughly enjoyed basking in your warmth with a satisfied and sluggish hum.

He looked so cosy all half asleep and all that you couldn’t help but melt at how at peace he was looked resting on top of you. It took a while for either of you to get where you were now, but with a little bit of time and patience it was made all the obstacles you’ve overcome all the more worthwhile, especially if it meant getting the golden opportunity to experience the softer, more quieter moments of your relationship. A soft smile would grace your lips every time his grip on your body tightened as though he was making sure you were still with him, or how with even the smallest amount of movement from you and him grunting in distain, burying his face deeper into your neck whilst applying more of his body weight onto you to keep you in place.

‘When I am ever not comfortable with you my love,’ Syzoth murmurs sleepily into your skin, pressing one, two, three kisses there and up to the underside of your jaw before going back to his previous position within the crook of your neck. ‘Are you falling asleep on me Syzoth?’ You asked rhetorically, finding yourself smiling once more as you felt his breathing even out and his muscles relax beneath your hands that were splashed across his back from underneath his sweater; indicating to you that he was on the verge of falling into a light sleep. ‘Perhaps.’ Syzoth replied with sleep heavy on his mind. ‘But that is only because I find your presence soothing.’ He adds on, making you scoff.

‘That’s an oddly fancy way of saying you love my bodily warmth.’ You joked when in reality you loved being Syzoth’s personal heater for when the days grow colder, happy to let him leech on your warmth if it meant engaging in cuddles sessions throughout the day. Syzoth wasn’t one to complain either as he genuinely had meant it when he said that your presence helped soothed his mind. Sure your bodily warmth was a bonus but it was the idea that you’d be the first person he’d get to see when he wakes up, and the last thing he got to see before drifting to sleep that brought his worries to a temporary stop. And yet it was practically mandatory for him to keep a firm grip on you throughout the night as a constant reminder that you weren’t going anywhere anytime soon. Not without him sensing the shift of your body at least.

Syzoth smiles. ‘I’m not hearing you complain in being able to have me like this. If anything I think you look forward to this every time with how reluctant you are in letting me go sometimes.’ He chuckles when he hears you huff, knowing he was in the right.

‘Alright, alright, you’re right now quit being such a smart arse and fall asleep.’ You said playfully, moving your head in order to press a kiss to his hair.

‘Only if you fall asleep with me.’ Syzoth said, already feeling himself enter the land of dreams where he’d await at the gates for you to come and join him.

‘I couldn’t think of anything on doing anything else…considering how I’m being very much pinned beneath you but we’re both well aware that I’d never complain about being under you.’ You provocatively said whisky fighting back the urge to fall asleep when you felt Syzoth softly pinch your side, ‘watch your tongue or this could very well end with us tiering out in another way that involves us getting close.’ He warns you, making you chuckle.

‘Sweet dreams Syzoth.’ You said, finally closing your eyes and the last thing you heard before sleep encased you was Syzoth saying; ‘I shall see you in your dreams my love. Wait for me.’

“Sooo…..are we sure this is safe?”

“Not at all!”

“Well that’s reassuring…” Y/n spoke nervously, messing with the sled in her hands.

“Thank you!” MK smiled happily, looking forward. He was so oblivious that it was adorable.

MK and Y/n were standing at the top of a large and extremely steep hill. Looking down made Y/n’s stomach drop but when she glanced at MK, she guessed he didn’t share her anxiety being he was grinning from ear to ear.

MK turned to her, his smile glowing with excitement. “You ready?”

“Not really…”

“Oh well! Hand me the sled please?” MK shrugged and held his hands out for the sled.

Y/n handed him the sled, gulping nervously. There were so many bumps and rocks down the slope, she was going to have bruises everywhere tomorrow, huh?

Mk crouched down to set the sled on the ground. Patting it, he directed Y/n to sit down.

“Ok you sit in front, I will sit behind you.”

“Wait, why do I have to sit in front? Isn’t that more dangerous?” Y/n raised an eyebrow.

MK had to think of an excuse for a minute, he can’t just say he wanted to have his arms wrapped around you so he can feel like he is protecting you. Stuttering, he came up with the lamest excuse to exist.

“Well- Uhm- Oh! The youngest person has to sit in front!” MK quickly filled in.

“What?! I’m only a day younger than you!”

“Ok and? A day is a day.” MK explained with a sassy tone.

Y/n sighed and rolled her eyes playfully. She sat in front and picked her feet up so they were hanging in front. MK took his place behind and wrapped his arms around, secretly smiling again.

“Ready? Let’s go!” He didn’t give her time to answer before pushing the sled off the hill.

“NoooOoOOOooOooOOOOOOO!!” Y/n screamed, wind whipping around her.

They were flying down the hill at intense speeds. Fear filled Y/n’s body, and yet there was a sliver of joy that sparked every so often of the ride. MK was having the time of his life, laughing at Y/n’s screams and cheering from the ride.

“I DON’T WANT TO BE ON THIS RIDE ANYMORE!” Y/n shouted, but it fell upon the whirling wind and MK’s laughter, muting her shouts to the world.

Y/n shut her eyes tight, too scared to open them up. But her curiosity got the best of her, and at the worst time too. She opened her eyes slightly to see MK and herself speeding towards a massive bump in the hill.

“EM KAYYY!!! BUMP!!” Y/n shouted at the top of her lungs. But it was futile.

Y/n felt the two of them being flung into the air, feeling weightless. Like there was no care in the world at that moment.

And a second later, all those feelings of tranquility were gone. MK was still laughing and Y/n screaming in terror. The two were smashed back onto the sled which only seemed to be speeding up.

“AAAAAAAAHHHHHH”

“HAAHAAAHHAHAHAHHAAAAH”

Another bump, a bigger one, was closing in on them swiftly. Not even a minute later, they were back up in the air, but much higher now. But this time instead of having the sled beneath Y/n as she flew, it was far behind her.

Soon enough, Y/n was head first into the fluffy snow. Her entire upper body was stuffed into the powder. Slowly but surely she crawled out of her little grave and rolled over, laying on her back with snow covering every inch of her.

Y/n moved her frozen hands to rest over her face, covering her eyes from the blinding sun.

“Y/N? Y/N!!” She heard MK shouting.

“Never sledding with him again.” Y/n muttered, muffled by her hands.

Loud and rushing footsteps sounded beside her, along with that all so familiar voice.

“There you are! I thought you died or something.”

“I can only hope so I don’t have to go sledding with you again.” Y/n told him, taking her hands off her face.

“As if, you love going sledding with me, MK, the Monkey King's student and heir.” MK posed.

Y/n just stared at him with a dumbfounded face before the two of them burst into laughter at the stupid situation.
