Personally I think that everyone is different so it will be impossible to know why some people choose to be the way they are. My system formed from DID and I cannot comprehend a plural life that isn’t linked with trauma. I just can’t. But I don’t have to understand in order to show respect and kindness to others, even those who did choose to create their system. Sometimes people’s life experiences won’t make sense to me, and that’s okay.
