Was doodling Lloyd and thought he should look cooler and my hand agreed, so now here we are, very proud of these drawings tbh
Species Swap-ish AU
Basically in this AU, Garmadon got those recessive genes or smth. Kinda like canon Lloyd, who hasn't showcased any oni-dragon traits until crystalized, Garmadon doesn't have any major traits from those species. The great devourer still bites Garmadon but because he doesn't have the correct genes/dna(idk)like in canon, the 'evil' only manages to make him a little more violent when he's angry and turn his eyes red.
(Maybe the venom ends up helping him shift between his human AND oni form...but Garm doesn't know that yet. Hah, the Overlords plan backfires.)
Nothing more, and he can control the anger pretty well, so yay happy ending instead of being banished by Wu to the underworld for so and so years. As for Lloyd when he's born, THATS ANOTHER LEVEL. All those oni-dragon traits meant for Garmadon is instead passed down to Lloyd via heredity-hence the technically species swap of this AU between them.
His baby teeth are growing sharp, he has oni horns and a oni-dragon tail mix. His eyes also turn red like Garmadon's when he's angry. Lloyd will also be able to poof four arms and wings when he's older but for now HE'S A FERAL CHILD.
Poor normal-ish Garm has to wrangle a chaotic Lloyd around, stop him from accidentally destroying everything with his destruction powers and from fucking BITING people. Garmadon's one of the only people that can make his son calm because Lloyd loves his dad to pieces(and vice versa, lloyd means the world to garm)
Aka adventures of garmadad raising a chaotic dragon oni hybrid lloyd while simultaneously being the best father ever.
Lloyd: Setting stuff on fire with purple flames.
Garmadon, sleep deprived: Oh father, not again.

Current thoughts:
Among other things that could’ve made the Oni Lloyd scene SO MUCH BETTER, It would’ve been SO FUNNY if he’d’ve paralleled Zane’s dialogue upon finding out he’s a nindroid.
Like.
Lloyd: (looks in Crystal and sees his Oni form)
Lloyd: No! It… CAN’T BE! NOOO (changes back)-OOO!!!

To whoever’s going around Ninjago youtube calling Lloyd’s eyes flashing purple in an Oni way Lloyd being a grape, I wish you many good things in life
So uhhh half-baked AU time because I was listening to Devil in Me by Halsey :)
Headcanon involved that Wu got most if not all of the dragon while Garm got most if not all of the Oni from FSM
Also pretty much everyone is OOC in this sorry (staring at Wu)
Basically instead of Misako leaving Lloyd at Darkley’s she leaves him and a note explaining everything with Wu. Wu raises the lil guy and naturally because let’s be real destiny itself is his favorite child Lloyd knows he’s the green ninja from a very young age but other than that everything is fine and dandy for him until his Oni side starts to show.
Wu basically becomes a worse version of the Wu shown in fics by Citrono on ao3 towards this lil baby seven-year-old. Really pounding on the whole “Oni are monsters” thing while poor Lloyd is trying his best to suppress it and make his uncle happy because his uncle was so nice until the Oni stuff started showing up, so naturally his Oni side is the problem, right?
At some point he runs away and releases the serpentine, his thought process being “if everyone’s gonna see me as an evil monster, might as well act the part because nobody’s gonna believe me if I don’t.”
Wu finds him, is very upset with this, and proceeds to start finding ways to actively suppress his Oni side because “clearly you aren’t trying hard enough to do it yourself.”
Eventually the other ninja come along and basically this small kid is holed up in his room all the time afraid to hurt them because… ya know. ✨Trauma.✨
Of course Kai and Nya adopt the kid immediately despite his (and Wu’s) protests that he’s “not safe”
As time goes by without Lloyd doing anything nearly as dangerous as Wu was telling the ninja he was capable of, the team is suspicious and eventually confronts Wu after they find Lloyd crying because one of Wu’s suppression methods is causing him severe pain
Wu stands firm in his decisions and the ninja take the child and run because he’s very adoptable.
Eventually Crystalized comes around somehow and Lloyd’s Oni form is being really pushed (probably by Wu too now that it’s convenient) but by golly he’s got too much trauma for this
TLDR; give Lloyd more Oni angst lol
I am aware this is chock full of plot holes that’s why I said “half baked”
Dark/Oni Lloyd hours
Once again maybe half of em are if you squint and/or are hyperfixating
Uhhh AU where the only ppl who knew Lloyd was working towards Oni form were Lloyd and Garmadon and basically someone sees him in Oni form and tells the ninja so now everyone thinks there’s a random Oni on the loose but it’s just. Lloyd.
And because I’m here for the chaos why don’t we also give him control issues so there’s more than one Oni Lloyd sighting
Some aphobe picking on Lloyd: But romance and sex are what make us human
Lloyd, part Oni and part dragon: (stares into camera like he’s on The Office)
Someone random: curious, what kind of creature are you?
Lloyd: I DON’T KNOWWWW
Being aroace AND an Oni Lloyd enjoyer is WILD because I’ll see a combination of green and purple and my brain will go nuts in two different directions

Movieverse Lloyd was definitely given this piano part at some point
I’ve done some thinking and realized that the reason I love Movieverse dragon and/or oni Lloyd so much is because at least in the showverse he’s able to figure things out and take a break but in the Movieverse it’s like.
“Are you kidding me right now I can’t be growing horns I HAVE SCHOOL TOMORROW”
Or like he’ll be in the middle of gym class and collapse with pain because wINGS ARE SPROUTING FROM HIS BACK and he’s still forced to keep running laps by a gym teacher who’s not even looking up from their phone
And that’s not even MENTIONING the other kids’ reactions.
You can’t say this wasn’t coming at some point
Spread this like wildfire! Or like Wyldfire. Or like Everblaze. Idk I’m just an idiot who wants a sample size and had to make the joke.
And for June because I’m a sucker for Aroace Lloyd, AU where the public finds out about Lloyd being Not Entirely Human TM because some kid raised by two aphobes somehow managed to find the topic of him being aroace in conversation with him.
Since they’ve heard something about how “romantic/s3xual attraction is what makes us human,” the kid’s first reaction is to be like, “so are you not human?”
And Lloyd proceeds to internally panic SO MUCH that he doesn’t even notice as multiple different Dragoni traits, many of which he didn’t even know he HAD, pop out one by one.
Cue chaos.

If you didn't know, Blue Ocean has a variety of non-canon Ninjago comic magazines. I'm working on translating a few of my favourites from German to English for you all to enjoy (see Issue 85, the first one I translated, for more details). This story is post-Crystalized.
