Small fun facts about the new oc!

Their name is [Orchis Hortengea]; the first name comes from the genus in which “Orchidaceae”, a diverse and widespread family of flowering plants and known as the orchid family, comes from with the same name, while their last name comes from a mixture of “hortensia” and “hydrangea”, with the former being another term you can call the latter.

Orchis has pitch-black hair and silver(maybe white? idk, not sure which to go with yet lol) eyes, along with being as pale as a corpse. Though as time passes by and the longer they continue remaining as an undead, their hair will turn completely white and their eyes red.

Orchis resides in Ramshackle dormitory along with the MC and Grim, though it’s mostly due to their circumstances, what with being undead and all. They were revived due to a tiny accident caused by MC, Grim, Ace, and Deuce when they went to go around the Ramshackle dorm looking for the urban legend. One thing led to the other, and they somehow managed to unintentionally bring back someone from the dead~!

As is said in the previous statement, Orchis used to be an urban legend of Night Raven College; I say used to because they’re now undead, though they probably still remain as one since no one besides Crowley, MC, Grim, Ace, and Deuce (also Lilia and Malleus, and Cirnu) knows about them “reviving”.

Due to the fact that Orchis is still technically a corpse, in order to prevent rigor mortis from settling in, Crowley always has them carry a pouch of hydrangea leaves and petals to eat every so often. The petals also serve as a “scent mask” since Orchis has no scent, and thus it might raise suspicions with other students who have a particularly good sense of smell. 

Though they can also eat other certain types of poisonous flowers or flowers related to death and such if there are no hortensia flowers nearby; it’s just that the hortensias are the most effective. The plants also function as a way to subside their “hunger for the living” for a while longer.

Orchis is still fairly recently “undead” so they don’t exactly feel the urge to “eat”.... but as time passes, and the longer they go without eating even a single piece of the “living”, then they’ll one day snap and eat anything and everything around them until they’re satiated back into sanity.

Although they know they’re dead, they don’t remember HOW they died, and due to the fact they’ve been dead for a very long time, quite a lot of memories of their past have already faded away.... though, they have a scar on their body, it’s not for certain if they were murdered or got into an incident or whatever.

Seriously, screw drawing a tiger-- it look cool, but it’s not easy and mine looks like complete dogshit asdjsddkalsd-- also, yes, the tiger has a mane, but it’s made out of ink, and the tail looks like it’s on fire but it’s actually ink as well

Orchis’ lower body doesn’t exist; it’s just, ink-- also they’re ridiculously tall while whatever amount of flesh is left on them is rotting away

Also- Hokusai-sensei here is actually Hokusai-sensei from the past, before he made a contract with Crowley and b4 he became a teacher; the blotches around him are black flames-- they’re ink made into flames

Originally, Cirnu was just supposed to be a “shadow person with wings and horns” but then that would be too silly to draw so I just- went with this alternative salkdjsjdsd

Anyways, as to whether or not I’ll finish these-- hmmm, someday, maybe, when I’m feeling a bit more up to it- asdjlasdljsada *slumps onto the floor, sighing disappointedly*

LOLOLOL I’M SO LATE TO GETTING TO THIS I’M SORRY ASJDASKDJASLD (I rly gotta clean up my asks/inbox sooner or later qwq)

Quintin is feeling pretty nervous!! It’s his first day after all, though luckily enough Seisear is in Heartslabyul too so he’s not feeling too much dread. Quin just wants to get through the entire school years by without anything drastic or problem happening…. (Well, he won’t exactly get his wish due to the dumbass group lol)

Seisear on the other hand is quite thrilled to be going back to school, since it means that it will be another year that he gets to “fulfil [his] wish”.… that, and he’s just generally excited seeing the school and being able to prank on his dorm mates again~. (And it’s another year again of being a thorn on Riddle’s side yet again, *sigh*)

Lala is NOT happy. Like. AT ALL. She’s pouting as Shir is trying to remind her about their deal that they made during their death match. Lala doesn’t wanna go to “this stuck-up school full of know-it-alls”…. But she IS a king of her word, and a deal was a deal. She just sighs and immediately sets a goal of taking down whoever is her dorm leader. (She actually did challenge Leona. It ended in a draw, of sorts.)

Ophiou is extremely anxious to the point he doesn’t wanna go to school at all, but he does anyways since he promised his mom he would do his best. Like Quin, he doesn’t want to get involved any trouble during this year, and/or the next, either… so his solution to that is to simply try his absolute best to blend into the crowd and draw as little attention as possible. (Again, with the dumbass group around, impossible :P)

Cirnu isn’t sure if she feel excited or something, but assumes that it’s like that. She can’t wait to see the same old faces, but even more so simply cannot wait to see the new junior students. Sure, they may test her patience every now and then, but she always forgives them in the end since that’s how children are~. (Once again, she ends up trying to remind everyone again about inviting Malleus to any occasion/party while Lilia is finding this amusing all over again)

Berebis is totally 100% neutral, well, to be specific… HE COULD NOT GIVE A SINGLE SHIT. Bel doesn’t expect this year to be exciting or thrilling or whatever in the slightest; it wasn’t last year, so why should he expect the same of this year? … well, the only thing he’s looking forward to is the Potions class and snoozing off in the library again, so that’s that. (His attitude quickly irritates Sebek despite being the latter’s senpai, to which Bel clearly doesn’t give a fuck about)

Fuyume… has no idea how to feel. I mean, sure it’s her first day at NRC, but she doesn’t feel anything at all… well, not entirely. There’s a tiny part of her that’s feeling… what she thinks is nervousness, though even then she’s largely detached from it. Fuyu just patiently deals with everything, unemotive as usual. (Though even she is quite surprised at how…. Many “unique” people there are; and by unique she means, loud, noisy, all over the place, etc.)

Viviane is super excited to be going back to school~! The amount of new faces she’ll see and meet, the old faces she’ll reunite with, the new and potentially exciting school activities… she simply cannot wait! Viv just wants to make friends with and get to know all the new students while also rekindling old friendships~. (MC interests her the most due to their unique circumstance)

Leviotan is being Leviotan as usual; he doesn’t care. Well, not entirely— Lev minds about whether or not the newbies/juniors will be either even slightly fun or a complete waste of time, and keeps a close eye on Viviane to ensure nothing bad happens to her. (He’s watching over MC and Grim like a hawk whenever they interact with Viv; he’s not the type of person to judge based on word of mouth, but he can’t help it when his sister’s involved somehow)

Orchis is… well… unknown. Though they can’t help BUT feel thrilled at being “back at school”. They do remember that they once attended NRC in the past, but Orchis can’t remember what their school life was like; was it exciting? was it depressing? Who knows. But at any rate, for Orchis, this is a second chance in of its own– a second chance to relive the time lost to them~! (They’re MC and Grim’s only other dorm mate, if only due to their circumstances)

Hokusai is, funnily enough, DREADING another year. Sure he’s already long gotten used to being a teacher at this point, but it still doesn’t mean that he can’t help but internally face palm whenever the students do something stupid. Hoku still thinks they’re all cute though, even the most headache-inducing ones, and will continue to genuinely watch over them… unlike in the past. (He takes GREAT INTEREST in the MC and Grim, since they’re unknown factors that Crowley let stay)

Shir is already graduated so he doesn’t have to go to school anymore, though he does remember his very first day and longingly looks back on it with a chuckle as he’s telling Lala about NRC and what she can expect from there. He occasionally visits the school whenever he’s not busy to check up on Lala and perhaps catch up with the Savanaclaw dormitory. (Leona jokes that Shir should attend again since he seems so attached to the school; he declines, saying it would be too embarrassing and he already has his responsibilities)

16. If they were arrested with no explanation, what would their friends and family think they had done?

Quintin Blanpine & Seisear Marchare: Their grandfather would definitely be quite miffed about his beloved grandsons being arrested with no explanation, plus he knows all about Quintin since he raised the boy by himself after the kid’s parents died when he was young, and he’s been in Seisear’s life ever since his childhood (until he also ended up practically raising him alongside Quintin after a certain incident). He believes that neither of the two did anything bad but is cordial and polite when inquiring about just why did his grandsons get arrested.

Ophiou Chos Gorgos: His mother would DEFINITELY be upset. She’s protective over her son, especially so after she nearly lost him in the past, and now he gets put in jail for no reason whatsoever? Despite her fury though, she retracts her teeth and anger, even though she has long since lost her eye ability, as she tries to peacefully settle this and get her son out of wrongful imprisonment. This situation isn’t helping his mother is trying to affirm (to herself and to her son) that people aren’t prejudiced and whatnot. She 100% believes that her son wouldn’t do anything to harm others and their small family and community don’t like getting involved or making trouble.

Berebis R. L'Ephegor: Much like Ophiou’s mom, Bel’s mom would DEFINITELY be upset and distraught, erratic even since she fully believes that her son can do no wrong and that the arrest was based on either a mistake or antagonism against their family. His dad is also shocked and calls this kind of situation as unfair, but he also expresses disappointment in Bel for being put in this situation— nonetheless, the family will use their reputation and everything at their disposal to get Bel out as soon as possible. His parents fully believe that Bel wouldn’t do anything to cause trouble or harm unto others, with his mother being the one more insistent on these accusations against her son to be false.

Shir-Kani Tigris: Despite their rather harsh and cutthroat beliefs, the entire Tigris clan calls Shir’s arrest to be one massive bullshit. Even Lala is pissed, as, despite their rather prickly relationship, she acknowledges the fact that her older brother isn’t the type of person to do anything wrong and he’s a reasonable guy. His mother has to be physically restrained lest she attacks the guys who are trying to arrest her son, while his father says to let this be since he knows that if his son is truly innocent, which he fully believes Shir is, then he’ll be released in no time. 

Leviotan Genov: Levi’s grandmother just shakes her head before doing everything in her power to get him out of prison; after all, family sticks together. His mother is also angry about this situation, though something like this isn’t too uncommon with their lifestyle and whatnot, his other siblings have mixed reactions ranging from concern to making jokes about Levi’s situation, with Vivi being in the former category— she believes that while her brother could be quite rough, he wouldn’t do anything that would go out of the line unless completely necessary. His family thinks that Levi could have (accidentally) hurt someone a bit too much, or threatened them.

Raneus Salpho: His entire family is shocked at this happening since they all know that Ran isn’t someone who would do anything that would get himself into trouble at all, even if he can be somewhat impish. Though with that being said, almost all of them are distant towards each other so they don’t really get involved much with each other’s affairs... however, it doesn’t mean that they don’t care about each other, and Ran isn’t an exception to this. His mother, in particular, comes to his aid and tries her damnest to get her son out of his imprisonment.

EXTRA:

Hokusai Nasu: He hasn’t seen any of his family in forever, and is 100% sure that they don’t even know if he’s still alive or not. Plus, he’s already centuries old, along with going under a different name now. Most importantly, he’s under careful watch and he’s kind of bound to the school and its perimeters, so he can’t really commit a crime outside, along with the fact that he won’t harm any of the students and he generally isn’t allowed to harm any person lest he is taken again.

Orchis Hortengea(?): Since they’re a fairly recent undead and Crowley, MC, Grim, and everyone else has done their best to keep their true nature a secret, it’s nearly impossible that Orchis would ever be arrested for anything honestly. Besides, they’ve been dead for decades, and their family have most likely moved and passed on... that and, either way, Orchis doesn’t remember much about their past as a living person.

Anyways--

Considering I’m still catching up on the Pomefiore chapter (already nearly finished reading the translations), I’ll try my best to answer this ask as best as I can with my goldfish brain 🤡

Nearly everyone enjoyed the VDC, though some of the others... not so much, ahaha. Anyways, here’s some of their thoughts as the event progressed!

Orchis greatly enjoyed the festivity and overall vibe of the VDC-- so many people~!! So much liveliness!! They ate so much food to the point they nearly ended up eating everything from a lot of the food stalls. It was the most fun they’ve had ever since they woke back up from being dead~. 

Despite having to be watched over by Hokusai for nearly the entire event, their overall experience was pretty fun~.  

Raneus also enjoyed the entire event... somewhat. He did end up making a TON of money from the amount of people who sent him commissions (and that includes even people from other schools!), asking him to sew their outfits and even giving him the highest price they could offer in return for his finest pieces. Adding to that is the amount of sponsors he got from the exposure of his outfits, so needless to say, his network became wider again. 

Viviane so BADLY wanted to join the VDC and was even excited to try for the auditions... but sadly, she accidentally over-exerted herself and ended up straining her ankles and achilles heel from doing dancing practices and stretching. She pouted for a while but decided to do the next best thing; support and cheer on her new friends and senpais (ie. Ace, Deuce, Epel, Kalim, Jamil, Rook, and Vil) in their spotlight~!

On the contrary, Berebis absolutely disliked the loud noises that was coming from the performances that the contestants for the VDC were making. So he sought to stay as far away as possible from the stadium and even willingly stayed behind in Diasomnia just because he wanted to desperately avoid the noise coming from the speakers of the event. 

Of course, Cirnu along with Fuyume (and some coercion from Lilia) ended up convincing him to get out and try to enjoy the festivities.

Fuyu in a sailor fuku was always something that had been in mind for a long time no purely for the fact I thought it would look cute on her aksdhjasdsd (chose the Fall/Winter version because it suits her more imo)

A glimpse of Ran’s “true” (spidery) form; he actually has 8 eyes but because they’d look too freaky he only lets loose a little around a very few select of people he trusts, with Ophiou being one of them (oh and he can’t be assed to take a bath on his own and will neglect doing so, thus he’s often nagged by Ophi to actually take one)

Raetel’s actually a studious and hard-working boy (yes, I hereby confirm the adopted honey badger as Hoku’s SON) despite his appearance and mannerisms kind of like a delinquent; he takes his studies seriously and HATES slackers (which is why he was LIVID when Grim, Ace, and Deuce all took up Azul’s contract to boost their studies)

Genderbent Quin and Sei. That’s all. asdsadhasd I literally have no other reason besides “cute girls go BRRRRR” uwu;;;;

Sudden TWST OC lore in the morning

Cirmu at a young age was actually nearly this close to suffering very deep existential crisis and shattering of her morality. She knows about her past lives and how some of them lived and ended, as well as the true nature of her existence and how it makes her different from others, but as a result it made her felt severely alienated from other people even including her own parents (of this lifetime). She is [Cirnu] but can she really even be considered as her own self due to only being given "life" because of the whims of an ancient god that decided to "dream"? What does it matter if she even lives or dies early, or even if she commits any heinous actions in this current life when it will not in any way affect the next generation of her "life"? Mentally speaking, she was not a child in any sense of the word, but technically speaking, at least in this lifetime, she is still a child, so it would do no wonders to her young and developing mind to think about the meaning of existence, life, death, and morality in regards to reincarnation and cycles. It was only thanks to Sybil, one of her previous lives, and her current parents that she fortunately didn't fall into a "Villain's" mindset.

Lala actually has a sense of inferiority complex in regards to using magic despite having overwhelming pride in her physical capabilities. The reason lies in her unique and rare condition, which is also the cause of her appearance-- most of her magic reserves is practically almost 24/7 being used and spent on making sure that she DOESN'T die from her affliction nor to let her body suffer by constantly pulling and fixing together her insides. As I think I have stated in the past, her early childhood was spent in near-constant excruciating pain and agony, more often than not accompanied by bouts of severe dry coughing (often accompanied by blood) and being too weak to even move a single foot, thus having to be carried by either her mother or Shir. As a result of being almost considered (if not outright) a cripple and liability at a young age along with still being affected by her condition albeit in a tiny bit more subtle way, to say that she has an issue in anyone making a comment on her being rather crap at using magic is a HUGE understatement.

Raetel actually has a rather volatile temper and some anger issues despite his seemingly collected and well-kept-together attitude, along with not really being trusting of others that aren't already in his social circle or people he already knows, is because of the fact that he spent a good portion of his childhood as a kid in the streets all alone. He never knew any parental not mentor-like figure before Hokusai, and it just so happened that where he used to "live" was rather... dangerous, shady, and a bit corrupt to say the least; if you showed any sign of weakness or couldn't adapt to doing practically anything to survive, then you'd die like a stray animal. Even from a young age, he was already a loner-type kid mostly because he was disgusted at the idea of sucking it up to anyone in order to survive like a parasite along with the fact that he KNOWS that practically no one can be really trusted-- it was use or be used back at "home". Raetel still has some of, if not all of the scars that he gained throughout his time there that he refuses to get magically healed, because to him it serves as a reminder of all what he did in order to survive and to never forget his pride for himself now that he has better access in actually and legitimately making his life better; which is another reason why he firmly HATES people who seemingly slack off for no good reason or any at all especially if they come from a well-to-do family.

Despite their quite innocent and downright friendly personality, Orchis actually often thinks about what they used to be like and would it be possible to go back to how they were like, or at the very least remember their past to some extent. They usually act like their current situation doesn't bother them in the slightest, but everytime whenever someone mentions either their family, friends, any loved ones, or even just an event from their past, Orchis sometimes ends up wondering about if they've ever experienced anything like that or if they cared/thought about someone like that. They genuinely would like to get closer to the other students, but Crowley has specifically advised the Prefect(Yuu) and Grim to make sure that Orchis doesn't do anything to maybe potentially harm the other students due to their nature as an [Undead]. It is also near impossible for them to develop/keep any long-term memories, with the longest they can keep their memories before it fades into nothingness is around an entire day; emotions on the other hand, are rather tricky. Orchis IS able to "remember" the emotions associated with something or someone, but will not be able to recall anything complex or deep in regards to that thing or person.
