THIS is SO important in media.
I watched turning red recently and it was a beautiful film, especially Embrace the Panda; the films biography/behind the scenes movie.
Sure, I’m not a 13 year old Asian girl living in Canada, but I was able to find some things within the film that I could relate to. And even if u cant, tat shouldn’t mean u should hate on the film.
If u cant find something to relate to in any media, that completely fine, but don’t hate on it just because u cant find something to relate to.
I’ll say it:
If you can only enjoy media that is made for you, caters to you, or represents your specific experiences, then you’re a bad consumer of media.

Like stfu and just say you don’t have the capability to look outside of your tiny worldview and enjoy shit that isn’t the cookie cutter picture of everything you’ve been spoon fed from birth.
So I’ve come to a conclusion….
i love that my favourite recent pieces of media that make me incredibly emotional and also hyperfixations at one point or another (euphoria and turning red) are incredibly different from each other

tbh the only 4*town ship i can see working out is taeyoung / robaire idk why. tae is the youngest of all the members so i would probably put him in the 16-17 range and since we know robaire isn’t the oldest but is the leader, i would put him in the 18-17 range. i just think with what little characterization all the members have, tae and robaire would actually be pretty cute together :)
People shipping 4town members puts me on edge bc like
1.) they’re just a boy band man nothing special abt them really although I love the way it brings mei & her friends together bc I can relate but there is not much to them other than being pretty boys I don’t get it rlly
2.) idk the ages & like if Jesse is at least 21 bc he can buy beer & the others can’t like *fear*
i have reason to think robaire and taeyoung are gay and dating. my reason is i think they would be cute together

Seriously I love it so much, never in my whole life have I saw such a good representation of 13yo girls and even 13yo in general. Maybe I think this because I was more or less or more like them, but my point is still valid 👀 They are not completely idiots, nor insanely smart they are real goddammit 🥺 anyways I just say things that probably was already said, so I'mma just enjoy Maggie being a babysitter (even if she's actually their lyricist and manager when her and Robaire's dad is too busy) to these five adults 😮💨

This one is Corey, @chillwildwave 's oc that I found interesting and I liked how he added more sympathetic facts about him !
They are writing songs times to times for the 4town, they kinda have the same vibe, which is different from the band but since Maggie is their 2d manager in some way, she knows how to adapt the tune to the band. And I read that Corey likes to write songs too so it's a good combo, like this he helps her find better rhymes when they don't match with the tune they want 👌🏾
