East Berlin, 1986 — a German punk and Stasi officer sit side by side on the subway. This is an experimental synth based track inspired by 1980’s horror film soundtracks set in East Berlin during that time. A special effort has been made to give this a straight-to-Betamax feel. That was once punk and in the end everything ends up in the capitalist sausage machine and all that's left is a can, if it doesn't get any worse, a limited edition.
Which is actually completely meaningless in a mass society, but there are only two cans!
Punk has thus ended up where it never wanted to go, every subculture is ultimately eaten by capitalism... that's the cruel evolution of things.

Artists want attention and that means money 💰 was and is cruel to those who cling to ideals.
In the end, punk is just a can.
The ‘fuck nazi punk’ is nice, but Nazi punks are a contradiction in terms! Then just a caffeinated soft drink with taurine.

I absolutely love this scene, it’s easily one of the best in the entire series. The dreamlike quality of this entire scene is so amazing.
There’s also a part of me that kind of had wished that Dr. Brenner would have been working against the lab, breaking it down from the inside working alongside the gang instead of just being a vision that Kali had conjured from El’s mind.
There’s something about the concept of Dr. Brenner secretly being a rebel punk in a suit that I just love.
