A/N: This is inspired by Melanie Martinez’s "Dollhouse". Also, I am not super familiar with the justice system and if the charges and everything are correct. I tried my best.

Y/N Y/L/N is a kook. Her father is a very well off man, a Neurosurgeon with many published, successful studies. Her mother is a popular cosmetologist in the Outer Banks with her own studio and her client base consists of other kooks and even a few celebrities. Y/N is a junior in high school with perfect grades and the "perfect life" as her friends would say. No one ever sees what goes down behind closed doors though.

Kristin has a drinking problem. She will start first thing in the morning and won't stop until she gets in bed. Her drink of choice is Tequila, until she starts to build up a resistance, then she switches to Whiskey.
Sometimes she passes out from how drunk she is. Her kids will find her on the floor and they make sure to turn her on her side, just in case she gets sick while unconscious.
Michael never would've thought about cheating on Kristin, until she started sleeping around with other men. They never acted like they were even married anymore unless they were out in public, to keep up with the image.
He has a new girl at least three times a week, so every day when he isn't at the hospital. He never brings them to the house, but he does rack up charges on his private credit card.
Reese is constantly high. It started out with weed, but then it escalated to hard drugs, prescription narcotics, opioids, benzo's anything he could get his hands on really. He even went as far as taking Y/N's anxiety medication, so she had to suffer for a month until she could fill her next prescription.
Everybody says the Y/L/N's are perfect but they never see what goes down behind closed doors.

Y/N had caught Rafe and his buddies beating the shit out of JJ Maybank. A pogue from the Cut. He had been walking around in a servers uniform so Y/N had just assumed that he picked up the job for some money.
JJ is a nice boy. He always was kind to Y/N when she showed up to parties where people from both the Cut, and Figure 8 attended. He always got her something to drink, even if it was just a bottle of water. He would hang out with her too when Rafe inevitability left her to go do god knows what with whoever he decided to that night.
They had cornered him in the locker room and Y/N was actually looking for her brother when she found them.
She gets nervous when Reese disappears after taking something. She's absolutely terrified he's going to overdose and she won't be there to save him.
"Come on pogue! How do you like that?!" Rafe yelled as he kicked JJ in the abdomen.
"Rafe stop! You're hurting him!" She yells. Everyone's eyes shoot to her and she swallows harshly.
She could tell that they were a mix of drunk, high and cross faded, she didn't know what would happen.
Rafe walks up to her and grabs her by the bicep while pushing her up against the wall, trapping her.
"Get the fuck out of here Y/N. Mind your goddamn business!" He starts twisting her arm and she can feel the muscle ripping from the tendon.
"Ow! Rafe stop!- You're hurting me!"
"Rafe! Act like a fucking man and beat on me you pussy!" JJ yells. "One of you fucking stop him! What, do you guys hurt women too?!"
Finally Topper comes over and removes Rafe from Y/N. Then the security guard walks in after hearing all of the ruckus.

There was something seriously wrong with Y/N's arm. It hurt to even have someone run their finger along it, and move it even a centimeter.
Her brother found out what happened when he squeezed her arm to get her attention. He hadn't seen the handprint that she was covering up until she flinched away.
"Y/N, what the hell happened to your arm?! Whose handprint is that?!" He exclaimed as he pulled her hand away from her arm.
"It's nothing Reese. I'm okay." She whispers.
"No, who the fuck did that?!" He continues to yell.
Everyone's eyes were on them. Including Rafe's, and JJ's as he was hauled out of the locker room.
"Tell me!"

Y/N looks at Rafe with frightened eyes. He just gives her a glare, silently telling her to keep her mouth shut.
Then she looks at JJ, who is nodding his head.
"Tell him Y/N! You didn't deserve that. You don't deserve anything bad." JJ says.
She hesitates for a second and takes a breath. Then she turns back to her brother.
"Rafe Cameron did it. I tried to stop him from beating JJ to death and he got mad. This isn't the first time he's laid a hand on me either." She says quietly.
Reese's eyes go wide and he starts shaking. Then all of the sudden he turns and runs at Rafe, who is standing by his father now.
"Reese don't!" Kristin yells as she hurries over to stop him, but she was too slow because Rafe was already on the ground.
"How do you like that Rafe?! Huh?! You pussy ass bitch! Beating on my baby sister? You fucking coward!"
Rafe is covered in his own blood and borderline unconscious when Reese is finally pulled off of him.
Kristin storms over to Y/N, who is getting checked on by her father. She grabs Y/N's injured arm and squeezes. Y/N immediately cries out and tries to get away.
"Look at what you caused! Over a lie! You're ruining this family's reputation!"
"I'm not lying! You've seen all the bruises and cuts I've had because of him! You always make me cover them in twenty pounds of makeup and wear long sleeves and pants so dad doesn't find out." Y/N yells back. "You make me feel like a plastic doll because of how controlling you are, all for this fake family reputation bullshit! I am so sick of it! You lie to the only people who actually care about me, because if somebody saw me at the hospital as a patient they would have to report this and then you'd look bad. I don't even like Rafe at all, but just because you slept with Ward and you two need to keep up with the look reputation you decided to put me through the hell of being his "girlfriend"!"

Kristin looks around the room. Everyone is watching, and Ward gives her a look. He's silently telling her to shut her daughter up.
"Y/N! Rafe had never done anything to you! Why are you doing this?!" She yells.
Y/N scoffs and looks at her dad,"If Rafe has never done anything to me, then why was I covered in bruises last Friday night? I said something that he didn't like and he tried to choke me!" Y/N exclaims.
"My son would never-!" Ward tries to but in.
"Shut up Ward! You know he would. There's always been something wrong with him, even when he was younger." Rose exclaims, furious at her husband for cheating on her and for trying to protect Rafe when he's obviously traumatized the girl. She takes a few steps closer to Y/N and Kristin, gently pulling the girls mothers hand off of her obviously injured arm that is now purple and blue. "You're hurting your daughter Kristin. Take your hands off of her."

The tears run down Y/N's face as she looks at her dad.
"Daddy, please help me. I need help."
Michael tears up as he steps closer towards his daughter. Rose removes her hand from Y/N's elbow so her father can look at it. His shaky hands enclose hers and he examines her arm.
He can immediately tell the muscle is completely separated and she will need surgery.
He removes his hand and looks closer at his daughter. There's marks everywhere.
Burn marks, handprints, scars, and a freaking bite mark.
As he realizes what all Rafe has done to his little girl, and what Ward has allowed his son to do and get away with, Michael goes off.
"You bit my daughter?!" First, he goes after Rafe, who is now standing up again. "You piece of shit! How could you?! She's never done anything to you! Nothing!"
Rafe doesn't have the energy to fight back, so he takes the punches.
"Things happen." But his mouth has energy.
Michael's eyes go wide and he doesn't see anything but red.
Ward's trying to pull him off, but he's her fathers next target.
"You told me I could trust him! You knew he did this to my little girl! You let him get away with it! You sick bastard!" He knees Ward in the groin. "What if that was Sarah or Wheezie? How can you live with yourself?" He cries. "You, your son and that woman are sick in the head. You're all psychotic and I hope you rot in hell."

Michael wipes the tears off of his face and turns to his son, daughter and JJ, who's joined his children.
"We're going to the hospital. Let's go."
JJ looks back at Sarah, Kiara, and Pope and they all nod. They know he cares about Y/N, so he needs to go with them.
JJ wraps his arm around Y/N's back and walks with her out the door. Reese follows behind and watches as JJ protects his sister from the door as it swings back towards her arm.
This is what she deserves, someone to protect her and love her with everything they've got.

All four of them end up getting checked out at the hospital. Michael and Reese are just awaiting discharge papers to sign, so they are in Y/N's room with her, waiting on the orthopedic surgeon to get there.
Sheriff Peterkin had already been by with an evidence team, to get statements, pictures and DNA samples.
Michael decided to press charges on Rafe, Ward and Kristin. Along with pressing charges on Rafe for JJ, in addition to restraining orders for everybody.
"Dad?" Reese says as they watch Y/N sleep in the bed.
"Yeah son?"
"I need to go to rehab. I need to get clean." He turns to his dad with tears in his eyes. "I can't do this to her anymore. What if I end up like Rafe and she ends up terrified of me?" He cries. "She's already scared because of me. I don't want to do this anymore."
Michael puts his hand on Reese's shoulder and leans against him.
"Okay, once we get home I will get you in somewhere. We'll get you clean."

Once the orthopedic surgeon got one look at Y/N he got her into surgery right away. It was a long procedure. He had to repair the tendon and muscle. Then get everything back together.
Once in recovery, JJ was finally released with a few minor injuries, so he decided to sit with Michael and Reese while she woke up.
"JJ, I need you to do me a favor." Reese says, pulling him out of his trance.
"Yeah, of course." JJ sits up in the chair.
"I'm going to be gone for a few weeks. I need you to watch out for her. Dad won't be around all of the time, so she's going to need help and she's going to need someone. Will you please be there for her? I know she cares about you because she always talked about you after she'd run into you, and I know you care for her too."
"Yeah. I'll be here." JJ chuckles with a smile.

Rafe was sued and found guilty on two counts of Aggravated Assault. Ward was sued and charged with Aiding and Abetting because he knew what was going on and covered it up for Rafe. Kristin was also sued and charged with Abuse, and Aiding and Abetting.
It was a long and stressful day, but at least they never had to go through this again. Things were going great.
Reese had started rehab, Y/N was finally able to start physical therapy, and JJ moved in with the Y/L/N's for the time being. Which wasn't a big deal because his father wasn't around.
JJ and Y/N have been inseparable, they are together twenty-four seven.
Michael and Rose have even started hanging out. If anything happens besides them being friends, who knows.
Everyone got up to leave the courtroom since court was dismissed and Rafe yells across the room.
"You've ruined everything for me!"
"Shut your mouth right now before I come do it for you!" JJ retaliates and tries to get as close to Rafe as he can.
Y/N grabs JJ's arm and then laces their fingers together.
"J it's okay. Don't let him have the satisfaction." She says quietly.
JJ looks at her and calms down, she's right. Rafe is just trying to get a rise out of him to cause trouble.
"C'mon you two. Let's go." Michael interrupts.
JJ grabs his coat and Y/N's, along with her purse and walks with her out the door.

Once outside, they see Ward, Kristin and Rafe being put in the back of squad cars.
Y/N can't continue to watch the scene in front of them. She lets out a little sob and covers her mouth.
JJ and Michael stop and stand in front of her, since there are cameras everywhere.
"Sweetheart, it's okay now. They won't be able to hurt you anymore." Michael says and pulls his daughter into his side, rubbing her shoulder.
"I know, I know." She wipes her tears as they continue to fall. "I just haven't been able to actually process what has happened and I just feel so—so relieved." She finishes.
"It's over. you've got everyone on your side to support you and move on." JJ adds.
"I know. I can't thank you enough JJ."
"You don't have to thank me. I'm always here for you baby." JJ pulls her in for a hug and kisses the top of her head.
"Forever?"

She said, I was seven and you were nine. I looked at you like the stars that shine in the sky, the pretty lights.
The sun had set, and the two kids sat side by side staring into the water as it glimmered against the moonlight, her head turned looking at the blonde-headed boy she called her best friend.
He shined, like the stars. She thought as she admired how pretty he was, although the two had no clue what the hell love was or hormones yet. She felt funny.
She wondered if he saw her like that, and if he felt funny whenever he looked at her. All she saw was stars when she looked into the blue eyed boy.
And our daddies used to joke about the two of us growing up and falling in love and our mamas smiled and rolled their eyes and said oh my my my
Although her family were kooks they were the most loving people ever. Excepting her and her little friend JJ Maybank she had met at the park, and she beg beg and beg her parents to let her go to the same school as him.
One Friday evening after pre-school, the four sets of parents had invited the Maybanks round for a dinner, obviously Before everything had happened with JJ’s mom passing away and his father becoming an asshole.
The two of the kids had ran off somewhere, carrying on just like kids do, when the two dads had spoke up. “They’re gonna realise their love for each other I bet you!” Y/n’s father said “he’s the only one I’d accept and trust with my daughter” he smiled at the Maybank family. 
“Very funny” her mother laughed making the mom’s roll their eyes at the two dads “it’s true! The two of them will, I bet” Luke spoke agreeing with her dad making the women roll their eyes again laughing at the men.
“Not gonna lie, I kinda see it happening aswell” JJ’s mom turned to look at y/n’s mom as the dads were off in a separate conversation “don’t tell them, but same” the women laughed watching the kids from a distance.

The house up in the tree that her dad had build, not too long ago for her 11th birthday was also a gift for JJ, since the two would spend most time up there, playing video games or just chilling whatever kids do.
The two were currently playing a video games nudging each other as they were completing with each other “I’ll beat you up!” He yelled a laugh coming along with the comment, “you wouldn’t dare!” She yelled back nudging him again. She was right he would never dare to touch his precious y/n y/l/n.
Now the two currently sat playing truth or dare after she bet him in the video game the two were playing “truth or dare, Jay” she said leaning on the bean bag “dare” he said copying her actions.
She sat in thought for a couple seconds as an idea had popped into her head “I dare you to kiss me!” She said before bolting out of the tree house, Him hot on her tail as he chased her around the yard laughing out loud when she almost tripped over her bike that way laying next to his.

No longer the little kids the two of them intended to be, at her sweet sixteenth birthday party, y/n and JJ had snuck away down to the beach to relive some old memories, it was dark as the two snuck down “crazy how we’re not kids anymore” she sadly smiled and sat down after placing a towel down to not ruin her dress.
“I know, least I got to spend the years with you huh” he said. Now, the two teenagers had turned into hormonal snot nosed teenagers, that smoked and drank against her parents wishes.
JJ had turned into, the islands heart throb, with girls. Y/n hated it, she hated all the attention he got, she missed when she was just hers and no one else’s.
As for y/n she had turned into a respectful young woman, but her and JJ were at different ends of the social spectrum but the still hung out when the could, obviously they had made more friends like now the two of them were Pogues, hung out with John B, pope, and kiara, ( who was another kook, like her ). Pope and kiara were the only ones who hung with her at school, but John B and JJ had their own friends.
But it was fine, she still loved JJ the same and maybe even more, and maybe just maybe he felt the same way about her.
“Remember that time you dared me to kiss you? And then you ran when I tried?” He said lighting the blunt that was already in his mouth “huh?” She raised her brows, of course she remembered, how could she forget? “We were playing truth or dare and you dared me to kiss you and then you like bolted away from me when I tried” he said handing her the blunt.
“Oh shit” she laughed “i do” she chuckled again leaning down on the towel “y’know” he paused taking the joint back “I would’ve done it if you would of let me” he copied her action leaning on of his side facing her “dude, we were what? Nine?” She shook her head “I’m surprised you even came tonight” she sighed
“What’d you mean” he said as the girl turned around on her side facing the boy “wouldn’t miss my favourite girls birthday over anything” he said reaching out and brushing a strand of hair that had fell out of place, behind her ear.
“Wanna play truth or dare?” He asked sitting up in a upright position “sure” she copied him “okay you go” she said “truth or dare birthday girl” the girl thought for a second before answering
“Dare” she sat back the boy copied her actions from when she was nine before he repeated her answer from that exact day.
“I dare you to… kiss Me” he trailed making the girls eyes go wild “what?” She chuckled awkwardly “I dare you to kiss me” he shrugged a smirk appearing on his face “if you insist” he smiled at her as he leaned forward puckering his lips up for her.
She took a breathy laughed before pressing her lips against his.

And yet they did bet on it, but they didn’t think it would become reality, as y/n told her father about her and JJ becoming a thing. Her dad had grinned high-fiving her mother with a grin making the woman roll her eyes.
JJ’s mother had passed, making it extra tough on JJ, but her family still accepted the boy, even though JJ’s father was now an asshole and bet the boy up repeatedly.
But y/n would welcome him with open arms and patch up back into one piece, and she was lucky enough to have parents that let boys sleep in her bedroom.

No one ever expects it but it happens, some girl was flirting with JJ at a party while he was getting himself and y/n another drink, and yet he didn’t do anything it look like he was and y/n was mad.
“Why did you not just tell her to fuck off JJ!” She yelled as John B, Sarah, Kie and pope sat on the couch awkwardly glancing between the couple and themselves
“I don’t flirt with every girl I talk to y/n!” He yelled back “and she didn’t know I have a girlfriend!” He spat “you could’ve of told her, it’s so simple “oh by the way I have a girlfriend that I love so much and care deeply about” see that easy” she yelled
“She just wanted a drink y/n!” He explained angrily “yeah! Sure! That was totally the only thing on her mind when she was touching up all over you!” She yelled before slamming the door behind her after leaving the chateau.
It was around 4am when she heard light taps on her windows as she rolled her eyes knowing it was JJ, she turned her TV’s volume up ignoring the boy who just wanted her attention.
A few years had gone and come around we were sitting at our favourite spot in town, and you looked at me got down on one knee.
The beach was always pretty during sunset, the couple were now both 23 and had moved out of outer banks, only back to visit her parents for a couple days during the summer.
The girl had been caught up in the pretty sunset as they were sitting on one of the fold up chairs her parents had in the garage, she hadn’t noticed JJ looking at her with such love and affection in his eyes, but she had noticed the strange feeling that someone was stairing at her burning holes into the side of her face.
“What..?” She said a smile appearing on her face as she turned around to look at her boyfriend “nothing” he said getting up from the seat and bending down on one knee “y/l/n” he paused “I’ have loved you ever since I met you. And I’m extremely lucky to have such an amazing, gorgeous and incredible girl in my life.. so will you marry me?” He said tears prickling in her eyes as he spoke.
“Yes, yes, yes!” She smiled as she stood up as he copied her actions engulfing her in a hug and placing a light kiss on her lips.
Take me back to the time, when I walked down the aisle, the whole time came and my mama cried you said I do and I did too
The time had come for the couple to get married, the long white dress trailed behind her as she slowly walked down the aisle after Kiara and Sarah. Everyone’s eyes on her as she made her way towards JJ, his eyes glassy as she stood across from the boy.
The vows, came and this was it “do you.. JJ Maybank take thee y/n y/l/n to be your lawfully wedded wife?” He said as JJ nodded “I do” he said wiping a quick tear away “and do you y/n y/l/n take thee JJ Maybank to be your lawfully wedded husband?” a smile appeared on her face “I do” she smiled as the family and friends cheered a smile appearing on her face as JJ left the room with her bridal style.
