Texted my brother and we had this serendipitous interaction.
I have a friend at school who vaguely resembles a younger, lighter skin-toned Locus and I wish to tell him this, but how to you properly tell someone, “hey you look like a character from this show I watch who’s a war veteran who’s convinced himself that he is a perfect soldier to hide behind the horrors of his actions and who eventually becomes a sympathetic character after killing his long time partner and running from the law only to show up later and help save the day before disappearing again”

Locus gets caught by some tentacle alien plant that wants to tickle him and make him feel good. I know it sounds weird. But trust me, it is.

So there’s been talk of Locus and Felix meeting Siris’ family, and Cap and I took our own crack at it.
They’ve been at Siris’ house for a while, had a meal and all that, and Locus has been quiet most of the time they’ve been there because he doesn’t have a clue the social rules for this situation and he’s feeling just a lil’ bit awkward. Then, whilst Felix is in the kitchen with Siris and Meg at some point, Locus is sitting in the family room on the sofa all withdrawn and quiet, when one of Siris kid’s appears in his peripheral.
After a few moments of silence he gives a little ‘hello’ and the kid asks him if he’ll open their drink for them because “he looks strong”. He does, and the kid almost immediately launches into a bunch of questions that Locus answers in kid-friendly ways and sometimes with some rather fantastical little stories when he can’t actually tell the truth at all. And by the time the others come back the kid is sitting listening intently to him, and Locus has relaxed.
Felix ends up carrying one of the kids around because the kid won’t let go, he loves the attention the kid gives him and the kid literally has to be pried off at the end of the night.
And finally, at some point the kid that Locus was talking to just straight up falls asleep on his lap to the sound of Locus’ voice. Locus is just like “siRIS THE CHILD HAS FALLEN ASLEEP ON ME WHAT DO I DO” and refuses to move even a little in case he wakes them up. At some point after this, when the kids are having trouble falling asleep, they ask for “uncle Locust”.
