Jaskier sleeptalks. Geralt is fine with this. Until he isn't. At first it was nice. A low hum in the background to know that Jaskier was still alive and well. Sweet mumblings and murmurings and sometimes even singing. But then Jaskier started having bad dreams, and now Geralt wakes up every few hours to "Geralt!" said in a gasp of panic. Geralt gets tired of the startling one night, and moves his bedroll right beside Jaskier's and holds him in the hopes of comforting the bard, only to just now get much happier sounding "Geralt"s in Jaskier's sleep. Now Geralt can't sleep because Jaskier, while still fast asleep, is asking him opinions on songs, complaining about the food they're apparently eating in dreamworld, and weirdest of all, complimenting Geralt ad nauseam. Geralt begins to grow into being able to tune out Jaskier's mumblings and finally sleep for once, only for Jaskier to make a new kind of "Geralt" in his sleep. This one sounded a bit breathless, like his gasps of fear, but he sounded warm and happy. Jaskier makes the noise ONCE that night, and yet Geralt is wide awake for HOURS. Terrified to move, or blink, or breathe, because WAIT HUH?
