How do you write a song for someone about missing them without it being inherently romantic? Literally has platonic in the title and I'm concerned even my close friends would look at me like 🧐 (I will admit the lyrics are fruity af but that's gotta happen yk?) Like they don't even know the songs title and I can guarantee they can guess who the song is gonna be abt.

Well, first of all:
Melanie has talked about being raised in a "traditional Latin household" and how she'd been made to feel ashamed of her sexuality.
But also:
Eating all the rainbow cookies
Rainbow associating with LGBT, and cookies I'll talk about in a minute. For those who don't know btw, Melanie is bisexual herself. While she's LBTQ herself, she can still pass as straight.
Next,

I don't know if she was raised in a Christian household to be fair but there's no other way for me to interpret this when she outright tells us her boss is Mother freaking Mary. This whole bakery represents Christianity/ the church.
Moving on,

Bearing and raising children. Except she has no real say in their actual upbringing, cause that's where the Church takes over. Their minds, lives, outlook, morality and identity are shaped according to Christian standards

We talked about rainbow cookies earlier, and we just talked about the Church rolling out the dough... Melanie herself is the dough being shaped and formed... The shape is a girl in a skirt, which later gets decorated very plainly... I mean 2 + 2 + 2 + 2= ?

Okay so this might be a total stretch, but hear me out:
She only mentions the rainbow cookies getting eaten. Like the faulty products that aren't good enough to be sold, so they're consumed and done away with by the staff members. The others are packed, tied with a ribbon and sent off.
Melanie was prettied up in a pink dress and blue accessories and packed off, presumably, to her mother in law's house. Where she isn't eaten but still cut up and layed out bleeding:

There's parts in this song that I can't figure out what she could possibly mean by them, so I'm not drawing any conclusions but I do want to open this discussion.

I made this about a year ago when i found out Himiko Toga died. The quotes are from the manga, "I bet on losing dogs" by Mitski, "Overgrown Garden" by Beetlebug, and "Nobody" by Mitski.
Edit: i added a picture with my handle at the bottom. I don't know how to take away the picture without my handle. Idk is that possible? Or do i just have to delete it and repost it?
The lyrics are from "Pink in the Night" and "My Love Mine All Mine" both by Mitski. Chapter 428 had me crying for days😭 I just had to give my two favorites a happy ending. They both deserved so much better. 🥹🩷💛
I put a lot of little details. The phone is playing "Sophia" by Clairo. There are matching teddy bear and fox plushie. On the mugs is "Lavender Menace" is reference to the Lavender Scare, and on the other mug is "Meteor Shower" as a reference to the song by Cavetown, which always makes me feel better. A daisy and rose in a vase(Idk how to draw spider lillies). I gave them matching tattoos on major arteries, because they both were willing to give eachother their blood for the rest of their lives💔 cherries are scattered on the ground bc maximalism and i can't handle blank space.
I just UGH I love them SO MUCH!
I finished it today, but I plan to color it later. I plan to make Himiko Toga's pajama set red and white with accents of black, and Ochako Uraraka's will be yellow, and white with accents of red. I just thought those colors of cherries suit them so well!
