when anyone says that they struggle with trying to study i understand them, i was in that position too so i get them.

(tw:depression, kinda vent)

At 13, i got the biggest depression of my life, i couldn’t get out of bed so i really didn’t go to school nor pay attention or study, which got me to fail a semester because i just couldn’t continue, with a lot of help of my mother and a lot of painful hours trying to understand concepts i passed my year.

The following year i started to start to try to get back my concentration, it was hard and it cost me hours just to try and not think of anything rather what i was trying to study, i tried the pomodoro method, thinking it will help me, it did in some way, i’d do 30 mins and then 10 mins of rest, i got decent grades and everything was going well.

At 15 (two years after what i went through at 13) everything i builded up crumbled, my depressive episode came back and a guy in my class started to stalk and bully me, which caused into not wanting to go to school because it meant i had to deal with that guy and the hell he made me go through, still i tried to cope with what i was going through and trying to get at least the minimum to just not fail, which it worked but i really got to go back to step one to just get the minimum.

Last year, i went again to go through to try to gain back my concentration, which i got most of it that i had builded before i was 13, i got decent grades and i’m still working through it this year.

So if you are struggling to study believe me, it’s hard but not impossible, setting goals and trying different methods of studying instead sitting there for hours and hours just to not get any results; do not have any type of electronic device near you (like an ipad, ur phone or ur macbook, specially the last one, i used to have mine in my desk and it kept me getting distracted of what i had to do), not listen to music, when someone says that they listen to music and concentrate it might be bullshit (maybe someone does but not me, if u do i WISH) being in silence is what helps me, obviously try to romanticize studying by making cute notes about what ur studying and having a clean and cozy vibe in ur desk, in ur breaks if u do pomodoro method watch videos of studying motivation so u are still in the mood even when u are resting and don’t get to overwhelmed because instead of liking or kinda liking studying it’s gonna get u to hate it.

Anyways that’s what i have to say, if ur struggling u can slide in my dms, they are open to everyone that wants to vent (no creepy men pls!!!!)
