things I do as someone who has a short attention span
🩰 — identifying distractions: I try to recognize which distractions are likely to divert my focus away from the activity at hand (when I do home workout videos I get distracted by YouTube shorts - now I put off my internet connection when I’m about to workout).
🩰 — counting on my fingers: personally when I count on my fingers it kind of sends a signal to my brain to lead me back to what I was doing, I think it is a habit that just randomly began and now it has helped me alone
🩰 — when I get distracted while using my phone: for Instance I'm meant to update my notion for the night and go back to bed but I open Pinterest and get distracted what I do is go back to my homepage and just pause and then I scroll through some apps to give my brain the signal that I'm looking for something and it automatically leads me back to what u was doing
🩰— when I have to do a lot: but my mind keeps rambling and I keep getting distracted, what I do is write down whatever is on my mind. I have a small notebook on my bedside table, and when this happens, I pick that note up and write down what is on my mind. You can also just get a rambling journal; it's almost the same, It helps a lot.
🩰 — minimize distractions: I take active measures to reduce distractions, this could include turning off notifications on my phone or computer, dismissing tabs or applications, or locating a quiet location in which to concentrate. when I get distracted on my phone and I remember I need to do something the best thing to do is just shut my phone down until you're done with your tasks
if you were able to pick up a few things that could help you that’s awesome - something I said here might seem small but they definitely help me a whole lot that’s all for today bye my dew drops !!
the events of 22/03/2024 || friday
today was so good it rained the night before (love the rain), and I had a good night's sleep. I woke up great and immediately started my daily tasks.
my day was good, I did get distracted during my workout though but I completed the workout. After I got to brunch and watched The Office I just decided to finish it and that took a good 2-3 hrs. so yh I finally finished
The Office and omg it's so good loved the ending saurrr much, I love that Micheal came for the wedding I did not like that Ryan and kelly ran away together though yh but all in all its a good show - I don't know when I started watching the office.
Still, I know I uploaded some daily posts and my watch of the day was the office and idk why it feels nostalgic now that I'm done with the show. I didn't get a lot done today but I don't hate myself I feel ok

hobbies that you can start this new year ft hobby tracker notion template pink
As we dive into the year, now is the ideal moment to discover new interests that bring us joy, creativity, and personal growth. Whether you want to relax, go on an adventure, or simply broaden your horizons, there is a pastime for you. Here are ten intriguing hobbies to consider for the new year:
Photography: Using a camera lens, capture the beauty of your surroundings. Whether you enjoy landscape, portrait, or macro photography, there are limitless opportunities for creativity and investigation.
Pilates: is an adaptable and efficient fitness regimen that provides a rewarding pastime option that fits into every schedule. Pilates classes, which emphasize strength, flexibility, and mindfulness, can be brief but effective, relieving stress and boosting overall well-being. In my opinion, pilates truly focuses the body in a soothing but powerful way. Overall, I like it.
Writing: allows you to express yourself creatively. Whether you're into journaling, fiction, poetry, or nonfiction. Writing is something I really enjoy doing. I've written poetry and begun a novel, but I constantly get sidetracked and fall off course, which is why I built the hobby tracker to help me focus on writing, which is one of my goals for the second quarter of the new year. Writing might be as simple as making cute notes, but it is quite fun and relaxing
DIY crafts: allow you to exhibit your creativity while also decorating your space. From knitting and crocheting to woodworking and painting, crafting is such a productive way to spend your time, and I really enjoy the sense of completing a craft; it feels very satisfying.
Learning a Musical Instrument: To channel your inner rockstar, learn to play a musical instrument. Mastering a musical instrument, whether it's the guitar, piano, or ukulele, can be both tough and incredibly rewarding, and the music itself is simply lovely.
Cooking or Baking: A lot of people see cooking as a chore but it's so relaxing, in the quiet of your kitchen or better yet with your friends just imagine baking, cleaning up, and eating with the people you love; it all sounds so relaxing and it can really help in the future in the instance you get really good and might even pursue it as a career.
Nature Walks: Walking not only provides wellness but also allows you to explore amazing landscapes and reconnect with nature. Walking is one of the most therapeutic forms of exercise because it allows you to think and connect with yourself, and it is really peaceful.
Vlogging: For me, vlogging is more of a nostalgic activity because I enjoy going back and seeing my development and what I've been up to, but your vlogs can also be shared with the world via YouTube, TikTok, or any other site. It is a very good approach to capture memories.
Collecting: collecting merch or just anything you find interesting can be considered a hobby. For example, I want to collect Archie comics because I see a lot of people collecting manga and how it fills their shelves is so cool, I want mine to be Archie comics because I just like them and it connects with my childhood self. You can collect anything really, from toys to albums; it just has to be something you love.
Ice skating: is a thrilling and graceful hobby that offers both physical and mental benefits. Whether you're gliding gracefully across the ice or perfecting your spins and jumps, ice skating provides a fun and rewarding way to stay active and express yourself. i think it is fun
A lot of times we lose track of our hobbies and sometimes they seem too much and overwhelming so here is a futional hobby tracker to keep track of your hobbies and also add anyone you might want to dive into in the future.
You can find it through the link below.

How to be More Confident
Set Realistic Goals: Set attainable goals for yourself and strive towards achieving them. Success fosters confidence, so even minor successes can increase your self-esteem.
Be Kind to Yourself: Practice self-love. Recognize your qualities and accomplishments, but avoid dwelling on perceived flaws or failings. Positive Self-Talk: Be mindful of your internal conversation and fight negative self-talk. Replace self-doubt with affirmations and positive reinforcement. Remind yourself of your strengths and successes. Use Affirmations it really helps.
Accept Failure as Learning: Recognise that failure is a normal element of growth and learning. Instead of concentrating on mistakes, consider the lessons they teach and use them as opportunities for growth.
Step out of your comfort zone and attempt something new. Every time you test your limits, you gain vital experience and confidence in your talents.
Practice Confidence-Building Activities: Participate in activities that will enhance your confidence, such as public speaking, performing arts, or sports. The more you practise, the more assured you will feel. I used to be so shy about sports and so self-conscious but then I started to embrace exercising and sports and when I began enjoying them I wasn't so conscious and shy about it anymore. so be consistent in those activities.
Dress the Part: How you dress and groom yourself can have a huge impact on how you feel about yourself. Dress in clothes that make you feel confident and comfortable in your own skin. Dress how you feel or feel how you dress whatever you do affects your confidence and if you dress properly and put in effort you can feel so much better just looking at yourself in the mirror. Seek input and Accept Compliments: Ask for input from others and utilize it constructively to develop yourself. Accept praises and internalize positive comments to boost your self-esteem. Please don't reject all compliments I understand there a some you can be uncomfortable with but sometimes its ok to just say thanks and move on, also don't be dependent on compliments to make you feel good.
By adopting these suggestions into your daily routine, you can establish an affable demeanour and gain the confidence required to succeed in a variety of social and professional situations. Remember, this is a journey, so be patient with yourself and appreciate your accomplishments along the way.

✏️ what no one tells you about how to journal 📒
i was sick of all the "how to journal" content out there recycling the same advice that sounds great but doesn't always work in the reality of daily life. you're welcome 😏 (also low-key a shitpost, but there are nuggets of wisdom in here, i promise 😇)
✍️ what to journal about ✍️
sure, you could journal about self development and treat your diary like your therapist, OR you could write about:
the pettiest grudge you're still holding onto from elementary school 😤
all the gossip about other people's lives that you have Strong Opinions™️ about, but you're a good person, so what goes in the journal, stays in the journal 🤫
all the witty comebacks you never say to people's faces because you're a sensible, non-confrontational person, but also you didn't think of it until later 🙃
the possibilities are endless, let your imagination run wild, and/or feel free to contact the blogger for more 🤭
🚫 when NOT to journal 🚫
this is just as, if not more, important as when to journal.
nothing to say — forget morning pages, i can barely string together a coherent greeting before lunch. also, a whole night's sleep is like a total memory wipe, so i have nothing to write about 🤷♀️ and don't listen to whoever says to just write "i have nothing to write about" because if you start enough entries with that, you're gonna begin to feel there's no point BUT THERE IS!! just not right now. and that's okay ☺️
too often — personally, i think it's important not to make journaling your one source of clarity 🔮 continue to think things through in your mind, confide in people you trust, and have moments (in nature, perhaps) that simply can't be transcribed to words 🌼
not feeling it — if you're too tired OR feel fulfilled and clear-headed enough about your day, don't make journaling a chore you have to do no matter what. if that means you don't journal everyday, then so be it 🌝
so when do you journal? in general, when doing so would add something to your day ☀️ whether that's peace, humor, gratitude, or something else.
🎁 materials 🎁
now for the fun part: let's go to the stationery store! 🛒
✒️ GET A PEN THAT WRITES SMOOTHLY! you are literally lowering the physical resistance that's keeping you from journaling, trust me it works. also pencils suck.
🔐 get a journal with a band, lock, clasp, button, etc. — just because it's fun, but it has the added benefit of securing your intellectual property(?)
have a separate journal for writing thoughts vs. schedules vs. todos vs. collections (TBR lists, recipes, etc.) — beats having to make and maintain a whole index to keep it all organized in just one (1) notebook 😵💫
🌸 stickers — are a pretty substitute for correction pens 😻 (in theory, but i have yet to use all the washi tape i bought 😅)
or just journal digitally, idgaf, do what works for you, okay? 😇
would also love to do this, I use notion a lot, and if there's any way I can help anyone to use it too. That'd be great.
A few things I use notion for
╰・language learning
╰・fitness
╰・work
╰・studying
╰・meal planning
╰・goal planning and tracking
For those who might not have the time to learn I have some free and paid templates on kofi. But of you're learning and need anything I'm happy to help.
love temi ❄️
i'm getting a lot of questions about notion setups these days so i'm gonna put a masterlist series together—what do you want to know about setting up an academic notion workspace?
reply to this or shoot me an ask, could be about my workspace, blocks, plugins, templates, you name it.

Improving Your Relationship With Food And Movement
Hey babesss I have improved my relationship with food and exercise these past few months. It was hard because I had to break down a lot of negative feelings and thoughts I had built around certain foods. I started yo-yo dieting and restrictive eating when I was 10 years old and it has had a lot of negative effects on my body not just physically, and mentally, but socially as well. These tips have changed my life and I hope they help you as well<3333
Signs you have a negative relationship with food.
♡ You think of food all the time. You think about what you're going to eat next and overthink your meals, and the calorie counts.
♡ Feeling guilt over your food choices. Whenever you eat something that might not fit into your “diet” you feel guilty and say negative things about yourself or “punish” yourself by excessive exercise or extreme restrictive eating.
♡ You must earn your meals. This ties into the previous sign, you feel like you have to earn your meals through exercise and restrictions.
♡ You binge eat. Binge eating is having a large amount of food in a short period, accompanied by feelings of loss of control.
♡ You ignore hunger cues. You feel the urge to eat but don't allow yourself to because of a certain diet or restrictive eating.
♡ You can’t keep your favorite foods in the house. You can’t control yourself around your favorite foods due to going a long time without them because of restrictions.
♡ You emotionally eat. Using food to comfort you is okay sometimes BUT it becomes a problem when you turn to food constantly whenever something bad happens and causes negative emotions.
♡ It is stressful going out to eat. You can’t enjoy yourself at restaurants or turn down invites to restaurants or events because you are overwhelmed by the idea of food and calories.
♡ You’re stuck in a diet culture mentality. It is okay to want to lose or gain weight and get into a healthier body but you can do this without restrictive eating.
♡ Your body dictates your food intake. If you are bloated you eat little or skip a meal altogether.
Signs you have a negative relationship with exercise.
♡ You use exercise as a punishment. Whenever you overeat or feel like you have you make yourself exercise for long periods.
♡ You feel guilty when you miss a workout. As women sometimes we can’t work out the way we want to because of our menstrual cycle and you need a break and it is okay to take a break.
♡ You exercise even if you're injured. Rest days are okay working out through injuries only makes injuries worse.
♡ You do workouts you don't like. You're focused on burning calories and not the enjoyment you feel when working out.
♡ Affecting your social life. You might excessively work out to the point you're missing events and invites to work out.
Tips to improve your relationship with food.
♡ Learn about nutrition. A lot of us are uneducated on nutrition and how we should be eating to prevent excessive weight gain and malnutrition I will recommend a lot of books below to start your education on nutrition.
♡ Practice mindful eating. Slow down and become aware of what is happening to your body when you eat certain foods, and your hunger cues, and don’t make any judgments. Eat foods without distractions such as TV, books, and phones. Take your time to chew and taste your foods. Mindless eating is eating without control or out of boredom.
♡ Stop labeling foods. We tend to use the words “good” and “bad” when talking about foods. However, labeling foods can harm your relationship with foods. Welcome all food groups into your diet. Making food decisions shouldn't make you feel like a bad person or a good person.
♡ Find enjoyment in food. Focus on enjoying food and the pleasures that come with preparing and enjoying food with others.
♡ Allow yourself to eat the foods you enjoy. It is okay to eat foods you enjoy in moderation,
♡ Challenge negative self-talk. The way we speak to ourselves regarding food and diet can affect the way we view foods challenge those thoughts with positive thoughts when they come I recommend reading this blog post about your mental diet by @arielsreality
Tips to improve your relationship with exercise.
♡ Create your own vision of fitness. Everyone has different body goals and what they want to look like the media pushes an image not all of us want to fit into. So create a vision for what you want to look like.
♡ Try different forms of exercise. Try different types of exercise. If you don't like cardio, try weight lifting. If you don't like weightlifting, try pilates. There are many options to choose from, so give them a try. Do what feels right and brings you joy.
♡ Listen to your body. If your body is sore, skip a day and walk instead of lifting weights. Listening to our bodies is super important ignoring pain cues is very harmful.
♡ Embrace rest. Sleep is our best friend getting the right amount of sleep every night is what helps our glow-up journey over all. Taking rest days is super important as well.
♡ Understand your body changes. Your body at 12 is not your body now and that is a beautiful thing. We especially as women go through a lot of bodily changes so we have to let go of society's expectations of how our bodies should be and look like what do you want your body to look like? And how can you get there?
♡ Follow women who look like you. Follow women with similar body types like yours. I have a Pinterest of women who have similar body types to mine labeled “Your body is beautiful” I look at it if I need reminders when feeling insecure. I follow a lot of black women on many platforms as a black woman because I like to see women who look like me in positions of success and wealth it motivates me.
♡ Celebrate non-scale victories. Maybe instead of being stuck on the number on the scale, you tried those jeans that couldn’t fit before but now they are so comfortable. That is something to celebrate!

Study Tips for Students like Me & You
Organize your time if it's not a distraction. Planners are meant to help you and get work done, not procrastinate by planning.
Get all the jitters out before studying, addressing all of your concerns so you enter with a clear, determined mind.
Eliminate distractions when possible, or filter out the distractions with music!
Create mini-goals to make the daunting tasks more simple and less scary to complete.
Step away if you get too frustrated with a concept or don't understand it. Come back to it when you have energy and tolerance.
Know how to balance your hobbies with your responsibilities, allowing you to avoid burnout for much longer.
If studying a weak point, remind yourself it's okay, and no matter the outcome, you're going to go down with the ship trying and fighting.
Be realistic and optimistic. Don't procrastinate too much when you think you have more time than necessary.
If you are doing last-minute studying, acknowledge the possibility that you might not do as well, but don't lose hope as any amount of studying always counts!
Create one big goal to help motivate you for your little goals. My grand goal is to one day earn a PhD.
