at the end of the wicked king, when cardan exiles jude, i always was and still am confused how jude couldn’t figure it out that she could have come back anytime she wanted. because she was queen of elfhame and part of the “crown” cardan says that she can be pardoned by. AND FOR SOMEONE WHO HAS LIVED HER LIFE SOLVING RIDDLES AND PUTTING TOGETHER PUZZLES OF THE PAST. SHE COULDNT REALIZE THAT SHE COULD HAVE PARDONED HERSELF??????

Hi ! I’m an artist and writer and I will mostly post fanarts or ramble about stuff I like here ‼️

These are the fandoms I take drawing requests on from now : TMC, Marble hornets, Creepypasta, SCP, Pokémon, Ace attorney, The Stanley Parable, Persona5, Genshin impact, Cookie run, The folk of the air, The song of Achilles, Warriors, WOF, The Simon snow trilogy, ghost, music stuff, anything Hannibal related, TMA, TMAGP, The bright sessions, Malevolent, Gravity falls, The Magnus archives and Percy Jackson

I only do humanised versions for Warriors and WOF characters btw (I don’t really draw furry or animals) (about warriors, since in my country all the books aren’t translated and because the names are all over the place every time I only read it in my language so no spoil about what happens after the first book of omen of stars or I will kill your family and friends./j

Oh and I love to talk about stuff so you can also just ask random things about mostly fiction, books, fandoms, or pretty much anything as long as it’s not too personal :)

Bestie. You need therapy. Not a Fae prince with midnight hair and razor sharp jawline who hates you because he thinks of you. Often. It's disgusting, and he can't stop.

The Folk of the Air series really didn't have to go as hard as it did with the poetic lines

“I have lied and I have betrayed and I have triumphed, if only there was someone to congratulate me.”

“Most of all, I hate you because I think of you. Often. It’s disgusting, and I can’t stop.”

“If I cannot be better then them, I will become so much worse.”

“Have I told you how hideous you look tonight?” “No, tell me.” “I cannot.”

“Kill him before he makes you love him.”

“Kiss me again, kiss me until I'm sick it.”

“He is even more horrifically beautiful than I was able to recall. They’re all beautiful, unless they’re hideous.”

“My sweet villain, my darling god.”

“I want to tell you so many lies.”

“Whatever I imagined then, now it is I who would beg and grovel for a kind word from your lips.”

“By you, I am forever undone.”

“My sweet nemesis.”

“It’s you I love, I spent much of my life guarding my heart. I guarded it so well that I could behave as though I didn’t have one at all. Even now, it is a shabby, worm-eaten, and scabrous thing. But it is yours.”

jude duarte's heroism and bravery lies in her standing up for herself it's not some lame and boring captain-america-standing-up-for-the-little-guy bullshit that main characters generally have and i LOVE that about her folk of the air would have changed the trajectory of my life if middle school me had read the books her selfishness and survival is so admirable most of the times people overlook her characterisation because we're all focusing on jude x cardan and it's ridiculous because she's such a layered character everything she does is for her own survival in this essay i will-

Macbeth/ The Cruel Prince

"Thriftless ambition, that wilt ravin up thine own life’s means!”

“The odd thing about ambition is this: You can acquire it like a fever, but it is not so easy to shed.”

I know that in the first, Ross is talking about patricide, but in general, when it comes to ambition and how far a person will go, there are a lot of parallels between The Cruel Prince and Macbeth. (Never mind the fact that Madoc always reminded me of Macbeth, and so did Jude, for those parts of her that reminded me of Madoc.)

(Underrated Queen of Nothing quote)

“If I am undressed, he will know me.”

"You are my creature, Jude Duarte."

-

"Tell me that you are mine, Jude."

"I am your creature, Prince Balekin," I say, looking into his eyes and lying with my whole heart.

dunno if this makes sense but I found this parallel. turns out dain and balekin are more alike than we thought 🤨🤷

Against my will, I aim the sharp point of the knife. I press it lightly against my skin. I am ready. I hate him, but I am ready. I hate him, and I hate myself.
