Idk if anyone remembers that movie.. "Song of the sea", if you do, remember the scene where the mom gives birth to the little girl by going in the water, and leaving?

Thats exectly how i imagine Thetis to give birth, but instead she doesnt disappear from existence, she disappears for a week or so to go back in the ocean and tell all her sisters about his baby... i find it really cute tbh

I saw several mosaics depicting this motive and decided to try my hand at it as well.

Also, I just find Thetis to be quite interesting as a character. There’s gotta be something fundamentally Tragic about raising a child, knowing that he will most likely die very young.
