Consider this the end of my hiatus 😀🔫

Izuku Midoriya was a whole lot more competitive than he seemed at first glance - had anyone accused him of such a thing, however, he'd have straight up denied it in some kind of flustered panic.

In truth, his constant ongoing struggle for the title of 'Number One Hero' was his way of constantly pushing himself to go beyond his limits and crush any reason to slack off.

So it makes sense that the one person he's always competing with is none other than Katsuki Bakugou. After all, his resolve to work for the same title was unbreakable.

Their rivalry was nothing but a playful way to progress though, they were in a relationship after all...

And for all their differences, they shared one thing in common aside from their dream of being heroes - and that was their shared love for Shouto Todoroki.

He was of course looking to work as hard as he could be but he wasn't looking to get mixed up in Izuku and Katsuki's (although playful) rivalry. That doesn't mean he couldn't compete on the same level as the two though, he was by no means weak.

Even so, weak isn't the same as oblivious; Shouto could be plenty oblivious...

♡ Shouto Indterlude ♡

"Hey, you! Dual-haired boy!"

Okay, so that caught his attention... Shouto stopped in his tracks abruptly, now standing in the middle of the school corridor during break.

He pivoted on the spot, looking back, eyebrows raised in curiosity. His eyes settled on a raven-haired boy a few meters away.

The boy took a slow stride towards Shouto in the mostly desolate hallway and he gathered from the boys gate that he was fairly prideful.

"Aren't you supposed to be training right now with all of your higher-than-thou friends? You are from class 1-A right?" His words dripped with a condescending tone that had no effect on Todoroki.

He gave a monotonous reply which only seemed to irk the stranger even more.

"Actually it's break. I was just making my way to find my friends-"

"Friends? Isn't it a bit selfish to waste time you could spend training, making sure you're actually deserving of the spot they gave you in class 1-A?"

This boy reminded him of Monoma in a way.

only more annoying.

He was about to give a blunt reply but was interrupted by the sound of a familiar voice, accompanied by the sight of his boyfriend rushing toward him from down the hall, his hand up and waving at him.

"TodoROkI!" (I'm so sorry but his voice breaks are just 🥺🥺)

Not too far behind him was Bakugo, trudging by with his hands deep in his pockets and the usual scowl on his face.

They both drew the boys - he still hadn't given his name - attention and a sneer pulled at his facial features.

"So these are the so call friends you waste your time with? What a jack-off..."

As he said this, Midoriya slowed down to a shuffle as he got to Todoroki's side and Bakugou had stood a little further off, not quite wanting to be in close proximity of the stranger.

With a roll of his eyes he added one last comment that had Todoroki seething in rage.

"I bet your pro-hero father is so proud."

This had both Midoriya and even Bakugou in shock, not knowing what they had just walked into.

Bakugou was the first one to snap into action, quickly cussing the dark haired boy out and moving to beat his ass as he walked away while Deku startled and jumped to hold him back.

Through Deku's struggle to hold Kacchan back he managed to talk a little more sense into Bakugou.

"F-focus, Kacchan! We can deal with him later!"

This seemed to quell the boys struggling for a moment and Deku used the opportunity to fuss over Todoroki, asking things like if he was okay and why he didn't bother defending himself but he didn't get much of a reply. Even Bakugou was worrying - but he would never admit it if anyone ever asked.

Todoroki was still angry but the presence of his boyfriends -lovers- he managed to will the angry tears not to fall. He knew people hated him, hated the entire class, but he hadn't even seen this boy once in his life and he wondered how many other people hated him because of his father. He'd already suffered enough because of him goddamn it!

Part of him believed what he'd said. A small part of him that still believed he wasn't strong enough. One that still believed he was going wrong somewhere.

Almost as if he knew exactly what he was thinking, Izuku wrapped him in a crushing hug; one hand around his waist and the other cradling the back of his head.

Ever since Deku and Kacchan let him know that what had been said and done in the past was far from okay - Shouto realised just how touch starved and in need of comfort he was.

As strong as he was, he was still human, and he was still hurt.

Kacchan was conflicted. He wanted to comfort his lover but the respect he held for him made him hesitate. He didn't want to make Shouto feel any weaker. Eventually he settled on coming up behind Shouto, resting his hands on his hips as gently as possible and tipping his head forward so that it rested on the nape of his neck.

He was too soft for an upset Shouto.

The trio stood there in eachothers embrace for what felt like hours but was really only a few seconds. After this break there was only one more lesson and they could go back to the dorms and relax together.

They broke apart but still stood close, their presence a calming relief from the stress for Shouto.

"You know the extra was only trying to get to you, right? He's probably just pissed cus he's about as useful as a soap dispenser in a fight."

Katsuki smirked and Shouto huffed through his nose is slight amusement.

In contrast, Izuku couldn't stop babbling and muttering about 'not letting others' opinions define you' and what movie they were going to watch when the school day ended - leading Katsuki to yell at him about the choice of film and how "obviously you're coming to my room because it's not cluttered or covered in posters of All - Might's face!"

The corner of Shouto's mouth turned upwards at Deku's flush.

Maybe he could finally let himself relax after all...

Can I just have some poly headcanons with Bakugou and Todoroki? I always see kiribaku x reader poly but man I love todobaku and I would kill to be poly with them haha..... anyway if you don’t write poly that’s cool too!
