was bored so made a bag using an old pair of jeans :3
also featuring some badges i made!
this only took like 3 hours and I've never made a bag before so i genuinely have no idea how i managed to make this actually look good??
Project wallet made from an old needlepoint canvas! Polyester/cotton lining and faux suede back. Everything here is salvaged, thrifted or inherited materials except for the buttons; including the needlepoint panel itself, which I bought already completed from a charity shop for a couple of pounds. All hand stitched.
This is the second of these I've made, so I've improved on a few points from the original prototype and I'm very happy with the result. I'll definitely be making more, as they're fun to put together and they really are useful...
getting back on here was my best idea yet. I've been seeing so many upcycling projects and been like hey thats cool.... WAIT I CAN SEW NOW. I CAN DO THAT

I found a mushroom shaped cork the other day, so I recycled it into a real mushroom!
I made a book!
I do love notebooks and I sure have more than enough of them at home that are sitting unused in my shelf, waiting for me to give them a life. and I will. all in due time :D But, I have so much scrap paper at home that I wanted to give book binding another try. I cut up a load of old papers - because I like the mismatched look of every page being a different colour or texture - and an old chocolate bar box and just started without overthinking it. I even threw in some old sheet music pages and I love how it looks :D i did make some mistakes along the way, and the binding of the signature is very improvised, but it all holds together and it was such a fun project to make :D to everyone looking for a new idea or project to do - Try making your own notebook! :D
For all of my fellow twigs who thrift, here's an upcycling(?) tip for skirts
Add a way to tie the skirt in the back from the inside, then make a ribbon/lace tie at the front to the side, feed the excess through, and add a decorative stopper to keep the excess in place and looking aesthetically pleasing (I used tiny fake flowers, but chunky beads/a bigger flower should work too)
Enjoy being able to wear that skirt that's just way too big
(P.S. You can tell if a skirt/pair of pants is your size by sticking your arm into the waist area and seeing how comfortably it fits your arm on each end. It should be snug, but not tight. You can also wrap it around your neck. There should be a little bit of overlap)
