I came up with new things for this fic and i might have figured out Riza a little?? But here is what i have

My idea had Ed and Al finding Roy alone by themselves without the team’s help, my very original idea ( that i came up with last June) had the boys traveling when the colonel got kidnapped, and when they got back they were like, “ where is our commander father??” the team was like, “ meh boss we don't know,” so Ed and Al were like that is fishy, so they look around and after few month or weeks they find Roy And keep him in their apartment ( notice, apartment and not dorm, so finding Roy Was kept a secret so no on would know that they have him)

When i stumbled across this note couple of nights ago, i had more time thinking it over and i posted my idea yesterday and gotten more ideas for it.

So here is what i have so far

Roy has Riza as his bodyguard ( everyone on his team is his guard in a way if you think about it) + Roy is a very strong fighter if he needed to be, ( he is his team’s guard btw. He protects them.) so it got me thinking, who was strong enough to kidnap the strong feared Roy Mustang?

Someone who knew how he thinks and acts. someone who knew his weaknesses, someone who saw him daily and knew him well. Who other than his men themselves??

BEAR WITH ME THESE ARE ALL JUST HALF COOKED IDEAS.

Riza would never betray him like that, and i know she would have ran herself to the ground trying to find him, so i just kept brainstorming how to keep the original idea of Ed and Al rescuing Roy while not having Riza with them. And it got me down to these points.

Hawkeye could be undercover and under radar and didn't know Roy was even kidnapped until she went back to central and knew and got mad with the team and somehow the boys let her knew about Roy’s whereabouts

Riza never joined the military and married Roy but died so Roy has that dead wife trauma. Which can add more whump to the story but idk

My least favorite one, but what if Riza is the one who took him down and delivered him to his captures? Not that she wanted but maybe they held some sort of blackmail over her? Maybe get grandpa, the Elrics or maybe she is in a relationship with Roy so that could have ended badly?

i am still not sure what i should do with Riza, since i just know she loves Roy sm, and it just doesn't make sense for her to hurt him at all.

The newer idea for this plot also has the Elrics taking Roy back to Resembool to thier granny since she is a doctor/ has a medical knowledge, and she might be able to help them care for Roy the first few weeks. Maybe they just stay there as long as Roy needs until he is ready to go back to public and face the military and expose them? .

I am just thinking some sort of family drama between Roy And the team since they are his found family, and how they betrayed him and stuff, and have Ed and Al being protective of Roy And attacking the men. ( this is not based on actual life experience of course not! Haha.. Hah… ha)

There is of course lots of truma i want to give Roy 😈 his childhood, teenhood, the war and kidnapping and Woah so many so many. Maybe involve his mother? Aka chris mustang and i know she is his aunt butttttt i love making her his mother or adopted mother, maybe she could be there too??

Also if we went with Riza being under cover and not knowing her beloved man was hurt she could probably go to resembool later on and just help Ed and Al taking care of Roy?

This is kinda what i have so far! Later on ( aka right before i sleep ) i am sure i will get more ideas hehe. Roy Mustang is one of my favorite characters to whump Oh my god

Gonna be real, but i cannot stop thinking about recovery fics and how beautiful they are. They are amazing, the way we see the character gets better always just makes me feel so inspired, the way that they learn to get over- or get around- the thing that hurt them. The way that they learn to be alive and living. How to love themselves and embrace what happened to them.

As much as i love these types of fics, i only wrote like, two maybe? With this idea (I love and have written torture more than recovery) . And it got me thinking… why not write a whole recovery fic?

It is no secret that i love parental Roy and Riza to the Elrics, and how they take him after he was being hurt and help him recover and be better and feel better.

BUT

But.

I am proposing another idea. Same child parent dynamic. Roy And the Elrics. Here is what i am thinking:

Evil Millirty hating how good and you Mustang is and they know he is a threat + them setting up to kidnap him by evil gang or something + team Mustang for some reason not being that loyal in finding him + Elrics stop their red stone research and to find their missing dad CO+ THEM SAVING THIER ADULT + FAMILY DRAMA AND PROTECTIVE SONS™️= my new fic idea

Which has traumatized Roy who is trying his best not being so traumatized but in the middle of it all, the Elrics discover How badly hurt thier adult is!

Do you have any Parental!RoyEdAl headcanons? I love reading headcanons, especially if it concerns one of my favorite btotps! ^.^

Of course, of course! My top two favorite headcanons include:

Roy constantly calling the places that he has sent the boys to, to make sure they arrived safe and have a place to stay. At first he was just calling to make sure they weren’t destroying things, but after a year or so, the questions were less “what have they done now?” and more “are they settling in well?” He will not tell the Elrics that he does this, and he makes sure that whomever he spoke to knows that they should not know he called.

Ed and Roy are both introverts, who like their quiet spaces and alone time. They both recognize this in one another, so when Ed is feeling a particular need to introvert, he’ll come stretch out on the couch in Roy’s office and read, research, whatever. Roy knows, when Ed is making a certain face or acting a certain face, that he actually needs something, and should not be teased. It’s one of very few times that Roy actually actively works on his paperwork

That’s not all though!

When Ed first started in the military, he had no idea how to budget. He was a kid with money, who wanted to pay back Winry and Pinako for the automail. His paychecks often ran out… so Roy sat him down and showed him how to budget

When Ed was taking the exam, he stayed at Roy’s. Just because he couldn’t afford a hotel and couldn’t stay in one without an adult anyway. Roy didn’t want to pay for the hotel, so he let Ed stay on his couch.

That’s not the last time that happens.

The day that Ed, Breda, and Armstrong met with Maria Ross, Ed had almost never been so relieved. It had scared him to know that Roy had been such a monster that he would kill Ross for petty revenge, and knowing that he hadn’t was more of a relief than he expected.

Roy totally gave Ed the sex talk. Ed was not amused.

Alphonse never stopped looking up to Roy. Not even after the Ross Incident. A strong part of him just kept saying “there’s no way that such a good man would do something like that with no good reason” even though all logic and sense said that was exactly what happened.

Roy and Riza go ring shopping with both Ed and Al. Ed was embarrassed, but Al was delighted.

Roy braids Ed’s hair when either of his arms are out of commission. Al couldn’t tell how hard he was pulling, and Riza could only do it behind her head. More than once, he has put Ed’s hair into a fancy braid, like a fishtail or something out of the ordinary, before Ed even realized it.

Hughes once half-jokingly said that Roy should just adopt the Elrics and get it over with. A few days later, holding another damage report from one of their missions, Roy seriously considers it “if only so they would just listen to me”.

The day Roy regained his sight, he sat in Alphonse’s hospital room and just stared at him as he slept. It would take a very long time to associate a living, breathing, human child with Alphonse.

Roy and his team are the only ones allowed to poke fun at the Fullmetal Alchemist and his brother, and Roy will make sure that everyone is aware of that.

That cat, that Roy as supposed to take in after Ed beat him in 03 ep 13? Roy went out and found it, and kept it. As soon as Al knew about it, he visited every day.

Ed has never full-on cried, full sobs and everything, in the military. There were times, however, when he may borrow Roy’s shirtfront, when he feared he may come close.

Roy keeps a close eye on Ed because Ed acts exactly how Roy used to act at his age, and that could only end badly.

Roy occasionally threads money into Ed’s account. Not often, but Roy wasn’t about to let his boy starve because Ed was too embarrassed to come ask for money.

Roy slips up and calls them “his boys” instead of “those boys”. More times than he likes to admit.

so in the the end q!badboyhalo was not only father to dapper. he adopted pomme. he was richas pai if only for one special minute. ramon had told him before he was more of a father than others were. trumpet was taken care of by him til his last days. lullah had always said he was like a father to her. and some of leo’s last words for him were that he was also her pa. all the little eggs wouldn’t have made it this far without their tio. it’s very gratifying to see all the love he poured out was given back to him tenfold ♡ rest well little ones

an Incredible theory

Right, so I don’t have any programs to pull out the GIFs for anything from the movie and I haven’t found them online. 

But I and my fiancee were going over some lines from the Incredibles Movie and we caught something Edna said, which struck us as odd…

“Your outfit will be ready before you next assignment.”

NEXT ASSIGNMENT

How did she know he was getting missions? Mr Incredible never said he was taking missions, in fact he was denying he was even moonlighting as a hero at this point. 

Unless. 

She knew Syndrome. 

Now we know Syndrome has money, he has power, and he’s been trying to set himself up as a Hero. If he’s been using his resources to find all these heros it wouldn’t take much for him to also look up the person who was their costume designer. 

And he would very likely have approached her. After all, he’s wanting to set himself up as a hero.

Now Edna, she’s been working with heros her entire career. She knows a real hero when she sees one. And we also know she too is in a position of power and has her own resources to draw from. It stands to reason that she would very likely read Syndrome pretty easy and know that 2+2 equals fish in this case. BUT, she’s not a super herself. She’s also in hiding. If she refused to make Syndrome’s outfit for him he could very likely cause her a LOT of trouble. 

Edna can’t do much, she is not in a position to be able to tell anyone about what’s  going on, supers are not in good standing and ones disappearing, well no one is searching for them at all. What else can she do?

She can manipulate things as she sees the opportunity show itself to her.

Mr Incredible comes to her about repairing his costume. He’s obviously on Syndrome’s hit list (hell she likely got Syndrome monologuing and knows everything going on) 

She already had the outfits for the rest of his family ready before Helen even got there. 

She knew their powers. She knew the best things to say to Helen that would get her to go help her husband. 

She placed a tracking device without telling Mr Incredible in all the suits. She put that device into his suit apparently BEFORE she made the ones for his family.

She gave them the resources, put them into the path that would allow them the best chance of stopping Syndrome, because she knew this situation needed real heros. 

And she did one other thing for them. One major thing that goes against everything she is so vehemently against.

She gave Syndrome a Cape.
