everyone matters.
every single soul.
i matter.
you matter.
and your friend maggie matters.
and my neighbour kyle, they matter too.
and that asian boy i see kicking a stone out of his way across the street, he matters too.
because if anyone gets harmed or hurt in any way, i will stand for them - because i have the obligation and order, as a citizen of this world, to protect everyone at the same time, and to stand for everyone around me, no matter the nationality or ethnicity.
and if anyone in my presence gets seriously hurt by a dark-skinned person, i shall not protect that person saying that they, actually, are fighting for their rights for being dark-skinned. no matter what kinds of protests are going out there.
any kind of physical or moral harassment is blind to ethnicities.
a crime is a crime.
and i will never elevate one ethnicity over another, because it isn't how it works.
sending love to every disabled queer who will spend the month seeing pictures of unmasked superspreader events from our own community. it's okay to love pride, and also be upset that it's being hosted in a way that puts your safety at risk.
if you're not disabled, please mask in large crowds. pride is vital, and so is community care. covid is not over, despite the government minimizing it so that we'll go back to work like everything is fine. mask for yourself, for your community, and for disabled & immunocompromised people. 10% of first infections (even if you got a vaccine) and 20% of second infections result in long covid symptoms at six months post-infection. nobody can afford to continue on pretending this is not happening!
you can buy high-quality, tested masks here.

CDC Recommends Multi-layered Protection Against COVID-19 as it recognises SARS-CoV-2 is a Year-round Threat

Published July 4, 2024
The US Center for Disease Control now recommends immunization, hand hygiene, clean air, isolation, treatment, face masks, social distancing and testing to prevent and protect against COVID-19 and tells the public there is no sign of SARS-CoV-2 becoming a winter virus.
In this update published on 3 July, the CDC’s National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases warns the public that COVID-19 is likely to remain a year-round threat. This new official advice is at odds with the recommendations of some vocal scientists, who, without evidence, still push the line that COVID-19 will simply attenuate or weaken over time to join the many causes of the common cold, only really affects the vulnerable, or that it will become a winter bug.
The CDC’s new position is a welcome recognition of reality and an acknowledgement that those who expected SARS-CoV-2 to settle into a winter virus pattern were wrong. The advice to adopt multi-layered protection is perhaps a tacit admission that COVID-19 is taking more of a toll on public health than many people expected.
In a study recently published in Science, Peluso et al. provide compelling evidence for two potential contributors to Long Covid: persistent SARS-CoV-2 and aberrant T cell activation, both of which can be found for up to two years after acute infection.
A recent review published in Medical Review sets out the spectrum of disease pathology with COVID-19 and Long Covid and gives some clues about why we’re seeing an increase in long-term sickness and in work disability around the world.
Our recommendation remains the same, take whatever steps you can to protect you and yours from COVID-19. You can find our advice here, or download the US Center for Disease Control’s easy to follow graphic on multi-layered protection.
Wear a damn mask unless you want to find yourself crushed to death behind those powerful abs.

Mask-up bros.
I got my ten year tetanus booster two days ago and my arm still ACHES like how did y'all forge through the covid shots??? I'm rolling around feeling awful cause my arm feels awful and all of my friends are telling me "oh that's nothing I felt like I got fully hit by a train for three days after I got the covid shot" like wtf o.O
I’m genuinely worried that I’m going to get covid because I work in a retail job and they’re making us stay open for Black Friday with extended hours. If I don’t get sick I’m going to be repeatedly screamed at because we can only allow a certain number of people in the store at once. I’m genuinely afraid for my and my roommates safety (they also work retail jobs)

I caught the virus 2 weeks ago, and I'm good now, but it put a hamper in my plans to start praising and talking to the gods again, ESPECIALLY because I dont want to bring that around them, or other humans :/
Please be kind and wear a mask when going out, especially if your going and picking up food! 💛💜💙

I get the flu or something nasty when the season hits, every time it hits. It's been a repeating pattern since 2012. This year I'm giving modern medicine a try. Because, if I can help it, I am not going to let the flu drop my immune system on the floor only to have covid try and bugger me while I'm picking it back up.
As a science major, This is problematic.
