Seeing people turn Wintergirls into a book promoting eds makes me so sad. That book is the complete opposite lmfao. It shows you the result of letting an ED spiral out of control until the point you are distant from your family, tired, sick, unproductive, severely underweight to the point you have to lie to keep people thinking that you're getting better, death, being forced to be monitored etc. etc. LIKE? I really wish the "coquette" Lana Del Rey, Whisper girlies would leave stuff alone sometimes. Wintergirls was the book that helped me recover a lot and it sucks that yall are using it as "thinspo"
Hi guys! Because I can't post this on my art account (or maybe can, but still don't want to say where it's from lmao) here's how imagine Cass and Lia from winter girls. Maybe they're completely different from what I think but that's okay! I'm only halfway through it.
I imagine Lia being tall with brittle straight hair. From the book I have only retained that she uses a lot of coats and layers and that Cass had chipmunk cheeks and curly hair (?) from when Lia last saw her hanging posters with a new jeans or something.
It makes me so sad seeing people talk about wintergirls in that way and not talk about the story itself, like lia and Cassie's friendship, how lia processed Cassie's deth, lia and Emma's bonding moments and how she makes sure Emma gets like treats and stuff, and how lia hallucinated cassie, how the dads probably cheating on Jennifer again, how Emma is being set up for being likely shell also developed an 3d, how lia spins the narrative so much you find yourself agreeing with her on completely unlogical things, ect
