Ok, I think MOST important goes to Sunny. But Moon's about 2nd place I think.

I think it's about time I say this. Moon is the most important character in wings of fire. Not best or favorite, (though she is my favorite) those are two different things. What I mean is you can't substitute her in the plot. You can't swap her out with another character and get the same story. Moon's kindness is the one who sparks change in everyone, Turtle in his journey to be willing to help, Qibli in his journey of becoming secure about himself mentally, and Winter basically not being Racist to Nightwings. I could go on but you get the picture.

I like to think Dune just didn't care enough to tell anyone about it.

It's so weird that Talons of Peace and Morrowseer didn't notice that Sunny was a hybrid. She literally looks like a golden nightwing with a sail. Okay, maybe most dragons have never seen a nightwings, but Dune spent most of his life around sandwings, and he would have definitely figured out that Sunny was a hybrid, since her build and face are nothing like a sandwing. I think Dune knew Sunny was a hybrid back then, and he probably even knew about Stonemover but kept quiet about it.

Ok but hear me out, absolutely no hate and I see where anon is coming from, she was also so scared to lose another of her children because she loved them so so sooo much, forgive me I haven’t read the first arc in a hot minute but what I remember was that she was just trying to protect them and sure she was overbearing and pretty bad at it but she was also a queen and socially she had to appeal to her kingdom as well, she used Anemone as a weapon because I’m assuming Orca grew up kind of distant to Coral, she was a queen and she expected to have other daughters like she had so many sons, so Anemone is pretty much her first time parenting, and with animus power her advisors would have whispered in her ear as well,, when tsunami came back as well she was so happy and locking her in their dungeon where she can keep an eye on her is pretty logical from her eyes,, keeping anemone on a leash as well to protect her, she was honestly trying her best man, with her weighing fear and anxiety and probably paranoia and the weight of the crown and thrown, and grief of loosing Gill as well, I’m surprised she didn’t loose her mind

How I feel about this character

I RELATE TO HIM WAY TOO MUCH. He is literally me im just not as big of an asshole EXECPT TO ONE FRIEND. I am legit his Skippy and he’s Joe. 100%

Skippy’s character development/design is beautiful. He has a slow burn development that you kinda don’t notice, until you do. Just like Rodney McKay from Stargate. The parallels between Rodney McKay/John Sheppard and Skippy and Joe are all too similar. I’m convinced the author based Skip and Joe’s duo off of Sheppard and McKay. I’m also a SUCKER for the arrogant genius tropes. Skippy is my all time favorite character of all fandoms ever, which is funny bc that title had belonged to McKay which further proves my point.

Nagatha. Those two are freaking adorable. Nagatha and Nagatha alone. Sorry doll lol

okay I really like Frey and Skippy’s friendship. The way she sings with him and makes him feel wanted and not like he’s a burden to talk to? Amazing. I’m here for it 100%. Also Skippy and Tripps! I would’ve KILLED FOR TRIPPS TO SURVIVE OH MY G O D. AHHHH. Also Skippy and Friedlander is hilarious. And Skippy and Joes mom. I can see her chatting away with Skippy over tea about Joe, Skippy tryna learn more about his favorite monkey and Joes mom tryna make sure Joe is doing alright and hearing about his adventures kicking rotten kitty ass.

My unpopular opinion about this character:

Home front was amazing. Seeing as it was written by skippy. My only problem with home front was the battle cries that’s it, I bore through everything else and loved it.

I wish he actually snuck a puppy onto the ship…or had more heart to hearts with bishop…or yk…

I wanna hug him 😭😭😭 he deserved so much 💀 it’s not his fault he was born into a bunch of racist, god complex, lyin little worms! Honestly his queen reminded me of the Maxholx commander Reichert loll. Anywho I was so sad when he lost his eyes but also that’s really cool to visualize. He needs a scavenger companion.

I think him and Sunny are a-freaking-dorable! I haven’t read the series in a while but yeah him and Sunny I can’t change it it’s too good. Ik I haven’t branched out from canon much but sometimes canon is so good it can’t be changed.

My non-romantic OTP for this character:

Star flight and Glory. The quiet, introverted, people pleasing bookworm and the loud, sassy, bulldozer of a queen. Love it so much. Also I feel like Starflight and Cricket would be such a great duo to follow.

My unpopular opinion about this character

uhhhhhh idk lol. It’s been a long while since I read the series.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

I wish he got a scavenger friend or two to help him in the library. Ik that’s it and boring but srsly it would’ve been adorable.

hybrids shouldn't be as stigmatized as they are, nor should animus (even non-canon species), and in general just non-canon or super rare things, let people be silly and have the treat of fun ocs for once

I don’t Hate Smolder I just think he’s a badly Written character like you have this dude who was raised as royalty his whole life and Basically served his Sisters and Mother and Crept on the sidelines and let others do his dirty work(Deserter) and it Feels like he is going after thorn For the Power position and He’s in the perfect Position to do so He’s her advisor and god Fuck he can do anything and He might get a way with it to Because Thorn will be transferring to Leader of maybe 40-70 To a Leader of a whole kingdom that is not Easy to do And she doesn’t know the land that well because she has been dealing with the scorpion den all her life

BUT STONEMOVER isn’t in a relationship With her for power if anything Be doesn’t care about the power because he has Stress on his shoulders and Thorn is Breaking his chains NOT ONLY THAT but he gives her a necklace Maybe even possibly Enchanted You have to remember Thorn is Climbing the ranks Of the Scorpion den when they meet and Stonemover has the chance to charm and manipulate her But he doesn’t He loves her Not only that But he Turns himself to stone FOR HER to keep her and the world safe THAT IS TRUE LOVE and you can’t tell me It’s not there Because He LOVES SUNNY because sunny probably reminds him of thorn he Feels worthless and Thorn lifts him up It’s a perfect

Scavengers were only added to WOF to capitalize off the dragon rider fandom, they serve no purpose imo they don’t need to be in the series. No impact comes from their relationships with dragons since we’ve seen it so many times, it’s really boring!!!!! Get these apes out my dragon book /j they’re kinda just there for self insert purposes and nothing else imo
