Overwatch/OW2 Theories: Future Character Challenges
With the Pachimari Roadhog skin challenge, I wanted to speculate about what character challenges we might get in the future. So far, we have eleven character challenges; Nano Cola D.Va, Pachimari Roadhog, Maestro Sigma, Mardi Gras Ashe, Brick Bastion, Kyogisha Hanzo, Marammat Symmetra, Comic Book Tracer, Bastet Ana, Combat Medic Baptiste, and Dr. Ziegler Mercy. So, I’m going to go over some fun ideas for skin challenges based off real world holidays and pieces of lore.
Holiday Skin Challenge Ideas:
Summer Solstice Lucio: This would be in between the Anniversary and the Summer Games, so in late June/early July. I don’t have as clear of an idea of what the skin would look like compared to other skin ideas, but it would be shades of blue, yellow, orange, and white, kind of like a sunrise.
New Year’s Wrecking Ball: So this would be around New Year’s, so between Winter Wonderland and Lunar New Year, if Winter Wonderland started earlier than normal. So, Hammond would be in a white and black suit and the wrecking ball itself, would be a disco ball.
Valentine’s Day Hanzo: This would be around Valentine’s Day, before the Lunar New Year event. I’m not exactly sure what the outfit would look like, but it would have a red, white, and pink color scheme. I think that it would fit Hanzo best because he is an archer and cupid is depicted as an archer. Ashe(maybe not Ashe since she got the Mardi Gras skin) or Widowmaker would also be ok, but it should be a sniper in my opinion.
Lore Based Skin Challenge Ideas:
Bride Widowmaker: This would be between the Anniversary event and Summer Games, or between the Summer Games and Halloween Terror event. This would be based off a photo of Amelie and Gerard on their wedding day, so I think that would be cool.
Veteran’s Day Reaper: This would be in November, around the same time the Symmetra Marammat challenge happened last year. This would be a holiday based skin and a lore based skin. He already has his Soldier: 24 skin which is supposed to be a military uniform skin, but I think giving him a skin similar to Soldier: 76′s Commando and Night Ops. skins would be cool because he was part of the US military, like Soldier 76, before joining Overwatch.
Patrol Officer Orisa: This would probably be between Archives and Anniversary. We know that Orisa was built from one of the destroyed OR15 bots from the Numbani Doomfist fight and we know that the OR15′s were used as defense bots that worked with the police. So, I think that Orisa should get a police skin that would be similar to D.Va’s Police Officer skin and Brigitte’s Riot Police skin.
Deadlock Rebels Ashe: This probably wouldn’t be a character challenge skin, since Ashe already got the Mardi Gras skin. It will most likely(hopefully) be an Archives Event skin just like Deadlock McCree. If it is a character challenge, I think that it would happen in June/July of this year since the Deadlock Rebels book is coming out in June 2021.
Anyways, I think I’m going to go over a character I want added to the game soon or a map that I want added to the game that wasn’t actually added but already had a concepts created for it.
TLDR: Some ideas I have for possible character challenges include: Summer Solstice Lucio, New Year’s Wrecking Ball, Valentine’s Day Hanzo, Bride Widowmaker, Veteran’s Day Reaper, Patrol Officer Orisa, and maybe Deadlock Rebels Ashe.
Overwatch Recalled: The Queen
So, I mentioned that I wanted to discuss possible future character. I have a list of characters I want to go over, but I want to start with The Junker Queen.
What We Know: The Queen, also called “the Queen of Junkertown” or “the Junker Queen”, is a Junker like Junkrat and Roadhog. The voice actress for Junker Queen is Siho Ellsmore, a Australian actress, voice actor, and filmmaker who is currently based in New York City. Junker Queen is the Ruler of Junkertown and used to be a mech gladiator champion in the Scrapyard. She is known for being charismatic and a skilled fighter who rules over Junkertown with the help of enforcers. Although being from Junkertown, like Junkrat and Roadhog, she doesn’t like either of them. She exiled them from Junkertown and put a bounty on their heads.
With that said, she gets along well with Wrecking Ball(Hammond) and made him the mech champion of the Scrapyard, we know this because of one of Wrecking Ball’s sprays in-game and his origin story. We also know that she has blue hair, greyish-blue makeup, a red cape, blue ripped pants, and a black and white top. As well as being a champion level mech fighter, we can assume that her primary weapon is the axe that she is seen holding in her poster on Junkertown. We know that there is a chance of her being a hero because the Overwatch Devs. have mentioned her several time.
Speculation: We know from the Junkertown: The Plan animated short, that Junkrat and Roadhog stole from the Queen which caused her to not let them into Junkertown, but based off of the Wasted Land comic we know that the Queen and Roadhog already had a tense relationship due to something Roadhog did that personally upset the Queen. We also know that they have known each other for a while since the Queen is one of two characters, the other being Bruce from the Wasted Land comic, that calls Roadhog Mako. If that is the case, then the Queen and Roadhog might have been in the Australian Liberation Front together before the destruction of the Australian outback.
Based on what we know about her, a lot of people think she would be either a DPS or a tank kind of like Doomfist or Reinhardt with her axe. But, I think she is going to be a support. We know that she is charismatic and that she is good at rallying support from people which would lean into being a very tough-love support character. Having her as a support would also mean that we have a Junker tank(Roadhog, maybe Wrecking Ball), Junker DPS(Junkrat), and Junker support(Junker Queen).

TLDR: The Junker Queen is a former mech fighter who now is the leader of Junkertown. She doesn’t like Junkrat and Roadhog, but she likes Wrecking Ball. There is a good chance of her being added to the game since the developers have mentioned that she is one of their favorite character. We know she is a mech fighter, but her main weapon is probably the axe. There is a chance that she could be any of the roles, but I want her to be a support. Overwatch Events: 2021 Anniversary
Happy 5th Year of Overwatch!!! I have to admit, I think I love all of these skins!!! Like they didn't miss this time and the background music hits hard! I mean, they made Wrecking Ball into an 8-Ball and gave him a little tux!!!!! Also, watch out for my 2021 Anniversary Events skin rankings coming as soon as I can get it out!
Overwatch Events: 2021 Anniversary Skin Rankings.
We got 8 new skins with the 2021 Anniversary Event(3 Epics, 5 Legendaries), and I will rank them! I will be ranking them in their category of Epic or Legendary, but I do think that all of them are cool. From top to bottom, I will go from my favorite to least favorite.
Epic Weekly Challenge Skins
Wrecking Ball - 8 Ball(Week 3): I love it so much! I think that it is such a good idea and that it was executed perfectly. I love how he has a little tuxedo and I love the wood grain and black plastic texture. I think that this could have been a legendary skin, I know that I would have bought it.
Echo - Bird of Paradise(Week 2): I think that it is super pretty and works really well with Echo's character. I love how colorful it is, but I wish that they incorporated a little more blue into the skin. I love the flower designs on her legs, chest, and arms.
Ana - Cybernetic(Week 1): I like this skin, no as much as the other skins. The color palette reminds me of Sombra's classic skin. I think the moving pixels inside her cape look awesome. The color palette and how they executed it were well done, but the visor is weird. I wish they just gave her a mask, like her Shrike skin.
Legendary Loot Box Skins
Sombra - Black Cat: She's a catgirl... that's it... that's my reason. But seriously, it's super cute! I love the fact that she has toe beans and cat ears. Fun Fact, the first gold gun I got was Sombra's and I think that it looks really good with the skin.
Junkrat - Junkfood: Yet another extremely colorful skin! It's so great! I think that this is the most detailed skin out of all of these ones. Some of my favorite details are the candy cane peg leg, moving cherry on his left boot, and the donut on his concussion mine.
Baptiste - Funky: I think that this skin looks great. I love how his gun has a texture that reminds me of 1970s cars and that he was a lava lamp in his backpack. I also think that his belt is cool, but I just don't think it is better than Junkfood or Black Cat.
Moira - Venus: I think that it is a cool skin with a good concept and pretty good execution with a lot of detail. With that said, similarly to the Baptiste skin, I just don't think it looks as good as the other skins.
Doomfist - Gladiator: I don't like it that much. I don't know whatever he is wearing on his face, I think it would look better if we could see his face. I just don't like it; Formal is a better skin by a lot.
Anyways, I hope you all are enjoying the event so far, I certainly am. I actually just won enough games to get the Ana skin! I will be posting on my side blog about my favorite book series soon, then about my one series in particular.
Overwatch 2 Theories: Reaper's Family in "Reflection"
Alright, so theory time. In the Reddit AMA with the game developers, we learned that the family Reaper is following is related to him in some way. We are just told that they are "his family", so nothing specific which is annoying. With that said, because they were so vague, I can now write a theory about it. This post was inspired by this post by @ow-anteater, so I am going to be talking about the suggestions made in the post which would be about Gabriel's direct family, meaning: his children, spouses, or son-in-law/daughter-in-law.
Here is the TLDR: I think that the most plausible theory about how the family in the 'Reflection' comic is related to Reaper/Gabriel is that they are his adult daughter, son-in-law, and grandson.
Now into the specifics.
1. It's Gabriel's ex-wife and her new husband. It could make sense because of how the image is framed. He is alone, in the rain, metaphorically and physically since he is not with his wife anymore. With that said, she looks a little young to be his ex-wife. She looks to be around 30 while we know that Gabriel is about 60, so that would be a little weird.
2. It's Gabriel's sister and her boyfriend. The problems with this one are the same as the first one. I know some people have older siblings that are 10+ years older than them, but I have never heard of direct siblings having an age difference of about 30 years, assuming the woman is about 30 years old.
3. It's Gabriel's adult son, daughter-in-law, and grandson. While this would actually make the most sense, considering the age difference, I feel like it would make more sense if it was his adult daughter, son-in-law, and grandson because of how the characters look in comparison to Gabriel. The man is white with brown hair which could make sense, but the woman has dark brown hair and darker skin, which better matches with how Gabriel looks like.
4. It's Gabriel's Ex-Husband. I think this theory is very similar to the first idea in both pros and cons. Since we don't know Gabriel's sexual orientation, this would be totally plausible, but the man in the image also looks to be in his mid-30s or early 40s which means that there is an age difference of 20 years at least.
Do you know what would work though? Reaper76 that's what! But that is another theory for another day... Anyways, sorry this took a while to get out. I have finals coming up, so I have been really focused on studying. With that said, I will be making a post about what a character challenge in June/July would look like, so look out for that. Overwatch Events: 2021 Summer Games
Alright, it's been a while since I've posted(oops), but taking a look at the 2021 Summer Games event announcement video has gotten me excited!
We know that the 2021 Summer Games Event is starting on Tuesday, July 20th and we can assume that it will end on Tuesday, August 10th.
Going off of the video, we know that we will be getting a new Symmetra skin(finally), Ashe skin, and Mei skin. I think that they all are legendaries, but I'm not sure.
With that said, @ overfire_ru on Twitter noticed a couple more skins. In the top right image, you can see a new Sigma skin. Then, in the big image at the bottom, you can see a new Winston skin, a possible new Orisa, and Pharah skin, although I think that the Pharah skin shown in the image is her skin from last year.
So, TLDR: The 2021 Summer Games Event will start on July 20th. We will be getting a new Symmetra skin, Ashe skin, Mei skin, Winston skin, Orisa skin, and Sigma skin. We might also be getting a new Pharah skin, but it isn't super clear.
Overwatch Events: 2021 Winter Wonderland Skin Ideas
Alright, so I know that I said that I was going to cover the first issue of New Blood over last week's break, but I just wasn't able to get it done. So, I think I am going to push that off until later when I have more motivation to actually do it. I was just kind of busy over the break. My family hosted Thanksgiving this year, I have been sick for the past few days, I have a decent amount of catching up to do in terms of school work, and I have about 2 weeks of school left until the Winter break and it's just been a lot!
So, I wanted to just do something kind of simple and fun, and my brain immediately went to the upcoming Winter event(I can't believe it's already December). Now, enough of me rambling, on to the ideas! Heads up, this is kind of a long one, I didn't realize how long this would get, but oh well!
I will be referencing Master Ian Gamer's Hero's skin chart in this video for who I think should be getting Winter Wonderland skins. Watch the video if you want more information about why I picked out the heroes I did. (Also, sorry some of the images are really big. It just came out that way).
Ashe: The only winter skin Ashe has is her Epic skin, Winter. Considering Ashe got a Legendary skin during this year's Summer Games Event, I believe it is less likely that she will get a skin, but still possible. If she were to get a skin, I think it should be based on her Snowball Fight spray which I think could be an Epic or Legendary skin.
Baptiste: Baptiste has no Winter Wonderland skin. I think that he could get an Epic or Legendary skin since he doesn't have one already. I think it would be cool if he got a skin, Epic probably, but maybe Legendary based on his Snowball Fight spray.
D.Va: Like Baptiste, D.Va doesn't have a Winter Wonderland skin. I think that she should get a Legendary skin since she hasn't gotten a skin in over a year, her last skin being her 2020 Halloween Terror skin, Shin-Ryeong. I think that a Legendary skin that turns Tokki(D.Va's mech) into a sleigh would be really cool and I think that it would fit well with Maddy Jean's Festive D.Va(left/upper image, I don't know how it will look depending on the device you're using). Otherwise, an Epic skin could be based on D.Va's Ornament spray (right/lower image).
Genji: Since Genji just got an Epic skin with the Halloween Terror Event, if he got a skin, I think it would end up being a Legendary skin. Genji does not have a Winter Wonderland skin, but, like D.Va, I think a decent skin for him would be based on his ornament spray. Although, I think giving Genji a casual skin to match with Hanzo would be really cool.
Orisa: Orisa does not have a Winter Wonderland skin, but she has some of the coolest fan concepts for the Winter Wonderland Event! Kai Chang on Artstation created this amazing Reindeer Orisa concept art(left/upper) and Maddy Jean on Artstation also created her own rendition of Reindeer Orisa(right/lower). I think that both of these skins would end up being Legendarys if they were added to the game.
Wrecking Ball: Like most of the other characters on this list, Wrecking Ball does not have a Winter Wonderland skin. I think that they could make an Epic skin based on his Stocking spray(left/upper), but I also think they could make a snowball or snowglobe-themed Legendary skin. An example of a Snowglobe themed skin would be the image posted by Devygone on Reddit(right/lower).

Overwatch Events: 2021 Winter Wonderland Event!
Alright, the 2021 Winter Wonderland event has finally begun! The event will be running from now until January 6th, 2021. You will be able to get five legendary skins and three epic skins.
The Epics are Peppermint Bark Brigitte(week 3), Mistletoe Symmetra(week 2), and Wooltide Tracer(week 1).
The Legendaries are Snowboarder Baptiste, Sleighing D.Va, Ice Wraith Genji, Reindeer Orisa, and Snowman Wrecking Ball.
You will be able to get the epic skins during their corresponding weekly challenge by winning a minimum of 27 games(lose = 1 point, win = 2 points) and you will be able to get the legendary skins for 3000 credits each.

Overwatch Events: Winter Wonderland 2021 Ranked Skins
Alright, I mentioned in my previous post that I was going to rank all of the skins from this events, so let's get to it.
Epic Skins:
1. Wooltide Tracer - I really like this skin. I actually think that it's one of Tracer's best epic skins. I love the texture/details on her sweater, scarf, and guns. I think that it's a basic skin idea that was executed really well.
2. Mistletoe Symmetra - I think that it's pretty. The colors look great and it has enough of each color that it looks good. The only thing that I don't really like is the shape of her crown thing, I wish it was in a more Greek wreath like style.
3. Peppermint Bark Brigitte - I don't really like this skin. Brigitte deserved better. I like the color scheme and I like the look of her shield, but her hair look horrible. They should have just put it in a ponytail. If it was like that, then it would have been fine, but the hair just ruins the skin for me.
Legendary Skins: I just want to say that all of these skins are really good, but there are just a few things I would want changed.
1. Reindeer Orisa - We've been waiting for this skin. I can't tell you how many videos I've seen suggesting this and I think it is a great concept and was executed well. I think that it's super cute and goes great with the D.Va skin!
2. Sleighing D.Va - Like the Orisa skin, I think it's cute. I think that Tokki look really good, I like the antler's on the back since it makes it match with Orisa, but it still looks like a sleigh. I love the pattern on D.Va's dress and I like that they gave her boots. The only thing that makes me put it as second is that I think D.Va hair should have looked different.
3. Ice Wraith Genji - I think it's great. I really like the color palette and, even if it wasn't intentional, the cat ears are awesome. I love his sword and shurikens. The only thing I would want changed is the back of his head. Everything is very detailed, but the back of his head is really plain.
4. Snowboarder Baptiste - I really like this skin, but it's pretty simple. I don't think that it's a bad thing. I think that concept and execute was good, it's just not super vibrant. I still really like how they textured his gun and clothing.
5. Snowman Wrecking Ball - I do like the Wrecking Ball itself, it's a cool combination of snowman, snowball, and sleigh. But I don't like Hammond with a beard. I just don't like it, it looks so weird. I would have probably put it higher if they got rid of the beard.

Overwatch Events: 2022 Lunar New Year
Alright, the 2022 Lunar New Year event has begun! But, there's only five skins in total this time which sucks. With that being said, in an article by Liz Richardson, an Overwatch spokesperson explained that there are "more Legendary skins planned in 2022 than any year prior" which could be either: more legendary skin with the yearly events, more OWL legendary skins, or (maybe) legendary skins that correspond to character challenges.
Anyways, this event you will be able to get Nezha Tracer and Seolbim Mercy for 3000 Credits each. Once you win 27 points (a win is 2 points and a loss is 1 point) you will unlock the weekly challenge skins. Week 1 is Prosperity Ashe, week 2 is Auspicious Soldier: 76, and week 3 is Porcelain Wrecking Ball. Out of the three I think Porcelain Wrecking Ball is my favorite and I think that it's one of his best skins overall.
You will also be able to unlock two new emotes (Widowmaker and Genji) and one new Highlight Intro (Zenyatta) along with the many voice lines and sprays that always come with the yearly events.

Overwatch Theories: Possible Inspiration behind Wrecking Ball's Ultimate
Alright, it's mini-theory time!
This might be a bit of a stretch , but I think that Wrecking Ball's ultimate is inspired by landmine-sniffing/landmine-clearing rats. Landmine-sniffing/landmine-clearing rats are trained to detect chemical compound in explosives which I think is super cool! I know Wrecking Ball's a hamster, and this may just be a coincidence, but I feel like there must be some connection. Wrecking Ball's ultimate is Minefield, the explanation for the ultimate is: "Deploy a massive field of proximity mines." The fact that the mines are specifically proximity mines also adds to the idea because proximity mines are usually considered to be landmines.

Overwatch Events: 2022 Lunar New Year Week 3 - Porcelain Wrecking Ball
Alright, it is week 3 of the 2022 Lunar New Year event which means we can win a new skin! You will be able to win the Porcelain Wrecking Ball items. For context, when you win a game you get 2 points and when you lose you get 1 point.
Once you win 9 points, you win the Tea Player Icon. Once you win 18 points, you win the Porcelain spray. Once you win 27 points, you win the Porcelain Wrecking Ball skin.

Analysis of Overwatch 2 Release Date Reveal Video
Alright, I said I was going to make a post analysing the official Release Date Reveal video of Overwatch 2 and here it is! The thing is... I've written so much that I chose to put all of my notes on the video in one document for you all to look at.

Since the document is three pages long, here's a list of what I think the most important things to know are!
Junkerqueen is going to be added as the newest tank. Her weapons are a shotgun and ax. She has a slash ability with her ax and an ability that seems to be like a mix of Reinhardt's charge and Orisa's Javelin Spear.
Charms are going to be added to OW2 based on stills of Cassidy and Lucio who have different charms on their guns, Cassidy's being Hanzo's Sake bottle and Lucio's being a dog.
Characters will be able to inspect their guns/weapons during games based on actions by Cassidy, Doomfist, Lucio, and Symmetra. There also might be taunts based on Orisa doing a thumbs down after killing an enemy Hanzo.
There is probably going to be pack skins added to OW2 based on a still of Tracer, Sojourn, Reinhardt, Baptiste, and Mercy who all have skins that have a very similar white, gray, and orange color scheme.
We get confirmation of the Kanazaka Fox character when we see a blue fox run through Kanazaka, creating a path for Zarya, Hanzo, Genji, and Ana who were following it.
We get to see clearer images of D.Va, Wrecking Ball, Symmetra, and Moira's new base skins.
Even though
I am not a big fan of Miley....her song wrecking ball is a very heartbreaking song and the video isn't as bad as people are making it out to be. If she wants to be naked she can- I think what ruined it for me was that she was very sexual. She's talking about being wreck and then she's licking a sledge hammer...That's was my turn off. It's hard not judge her from her Hannah Montana days, but she'll do what she wants and I have to do my best to ignore it as much as possible. My two cents that no one has to listen to.
