Skiing AU:

Arthur is a skiing-beginner and accidentally runs Merlin over on the slope. Needless to say neither of them is very fond of the other after that meeting.

It really was an accident though.

So was the second time.

And the third time.

The fourth time, however, wasn’t.

Possible endings:

1) Arthur invites Merlin to their skiing lodge at the end of their holidays as a way of apologising for the times they unfortunately bumped into each other.

2) Merlin and Arthur get stuck in a gondola and huddle together for warmth.

3) Both of the above.

Gwen: Oh my god that's a genius idea, Merlin! You're the smartest person I know.

Merlin: That's really unfortunate.

Merlin: *looks at the knights beating each other with wooden sticks*

Merlin: And yet...not surprising.

*Merlin and Morgana watch Gwaine grab the front of his trousers in an attempt to look cool*

Morgana: Does...does Gwaine have problems with his genitals?

Merlin: Yes.

Merlin: He's thinking with them.

Visiting knight: Oh, I'm not afraid of fighting a sorcerer. I've tackled one before, you know, in controlled circumstances.

Arthur: Oh, don't worry. You won't find any of those here.

Visiting knight: What, sorcerers?

Merlin: No, controlled circumstances.

Prompt #19:

Merlin has been in love with Arthur from the moment they’ve met. And even though there were several moments where the sexual tension was tangible, he never dared imagine something might actually happen between them.

Imagine his surprise when, out of the blue, Arthur proposes to him.

And imagine his heartbreak when he realises Arthur only proposed to spite his estranged father.

Even though the proposal was made for the wrong reasons they might realise it hasn’t been the wrong decision after all.

Arthur: Really, Morgana? Merlin? Is this wise?

Morgana: I know, but you don't have a choice.

Arthur: You really want me to rely on Merlin, Merlin, to ride out and escort a princess, a princess, all the way from Escetir to Camelot on horseback, on horseback, so I can ask her to be my queen?

Merlin: Why shouldn't I?

Arthur: Because, Merlin, you're an idiot. You'll probably get lost or scare her off before you can even cross the border.

Morgana: That's what I'm counting on.
