Codywan Week Day 2: The Wise Man's Fear
Codywan Week Day 2: The Wise Man's Fear
Summary: Cody is a very gentle man. It takes a while for him to truly get angry. However, when Obi-wan is shot, he finds it hard to control his emotions.
There are three things every wise man fears: the sea in a storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentle man. Cody was a gentle and kind man. He had a good heart and few fears.
One of those fears was losing those he was close to. In a war, Cody knew it was likely; the death of a loved one. The man had already lost close friends.
Now on the battlefield, the clone faced the thought of losing his general. Cody should have known loving a Jedi was a bad idea. When Obi-Wan got shot, he didn't know what to do.
Taking Obi-wan lightsaber may not have been the best idea. With the droids closing in on them, Cody made the decision to give them a chance they might not have. Switching it on, the clone walked towards the droids.
He swung the saber into the metal droids. It was harder to hold then he expected. Cody was angry, it was time he expressed it. His brothers died around him everyday and now he was being faced with the possible death of the love of his life. He was tired of it.
The saber sliced though the droids with ease, even with the saber being heavy. Cody knew why, the saber wasn't his. Still, he could feel it getting lighter. It was like the crystal was excepting him.
As the droids fell, he could feel his anger grow. Even so, it seemed to be working. With his brothers fighting back, the group of droids grew smaller and smaller. Soon Cody was standing over a pile of scrap metal, breathing heavily.
The clones around him had never seen Cody act like that before. Switching the saber off, he walked back to the main group. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah. Are you?"
Still trying to calm down, Cody nodded. "Is Obi-" he paused. "Is the general okay?"
"He should be." The medic informed him.
"Good. We'll finish the campaign without him." Cody took a look at the lightsaber in his hand.
"Do you know how to use that?" One of the men asked. "It came some natural to you."
"Only a little." Cody said. He had spent hours watching Obi-wan practice.
The gentle man still felt the anger in his heart. Breathing steadily, Cody calmed himself. "Okay." Putting Obi-wan's lightsaber on his belt, the commander started to walk forward. "Let's move out."

Augusnippets Day 7: Waterboarding
Fandom: Spy x Family
Summary: Loid is waterboarded
Loid didn't know what had given him away. All he did know was now he was in enemy territory. He had been on a mission to infiltrate a popular gang in this area. One of the members must have found out he was not there to truly join them.
Despite his abilities, Loid had not expected the gang members to attack him. All it took was one lead pipe to the back of his head and he was lucky to be alive. When Loid woke up, he was in some room. His hands were tied together and he heard what sounded like a sink running.
"Who sent you?" A gang member asked. Loid stayed silent.
"We don't have time for your fucking games man. Who sent you?" Still, Loid didn't answer.
"Alright, you asked for it." One of the gang members grabbed a bucket while another grabbed a cloth. They soaked the cloth and brought it to Loid's face.
Dropping the rag over the spy's face, the gang member poured more water in it. Loid struggled under their grasp, trying to escape. It felt like he was drowning, even if he wasn't. The water coming into his lungs, was painful and had the potential to be deadly. However, at the time he should be okay.
After a moment, Loid tried to calm himself enough to think about how to get out of the situation. Escape was all about the timing. If the man could plan it out to where he used his strength against the others when they didn't have water on him.
So he waited for a moment. Once they ran out of water, Loid took his chance. He attacked them, freeing himself. Shaking the cloth off of his face, Loid headed for the door. Forcing the door to open, he ran down the hall. Now Twilight just had to figure out how to escape the building.
Augusnippets Day 11: Whumpee wearing Caretakers clothes
Fandom: The Clone Wars
Summary: While in a mission on a frozen planet, Cody falls into a lake. Obi-wan knows it's important to keep him warm.
"Cody!" Obi-wan sled over to him as he fell under the ice. The thickness of the ice was hard to see under the snow. One of the men helped the jedi grab a hold of Cody and pulled him back to the surface. They dragged him away from the opening.
"Are you alright?" Kenobi asked. Cody didn't answer at first. Suddenly being submerged in freezing water had taken his breath away. He just listened to Obi-wan talk. Talking to the men, he told them to find a place to shelter them from the harsh and cold winds. They agreed and went to find a place to set up camp for the night.
As Obi-wan wrapped his clock around the man, Cody finally snapped back to reality. "Obi-wan?"
"Yes love?"
"You're going to get cold" he shivered.
"Oh I'll be alright. Let's get you someplace a little warmer. Then men are.teying to find cover."
Cody pulled the cloth closer to his body. It made him feel a little better. While he couldn't feel the clock's soft texture, he knew it was there. After all, he had felt it many times before.
Helping Cody stand, Obi-wan pulled him close. "Let's find the men."
August snippets Day 1: Stalked (Alt Promt)
Fandom: Percy Jackson
Summary: Percy starts to realize something or someone is watching him when he's out with his mom getting ice cream.
Percy knew he was being watched. He had gotten used to the uncomfortable feeling of eyes on him. However most of the time the feeling of being watched went away when he was outside of school or camp.
Instead Percy was getting ice cream with his mom. The two had decided to go out after Percy had passed his first quarter at school. Blue ice cream sat in front of them.
"Is everything okay, Percy?" Sally said. "You haven't had much of your ice cream."
"Yeah. I'm okay." Percy lied. After everything he had gone through, some ice cream and time with him mom sounded perfect. As the two sat at their table, the teen settled in. While the feeling he was being watched stayed with him, the boy started to ignore it.
It wasn't until Sally and Percy had finished their blue raspberry ice cream when the feeling started to bother him again. Sally seemed to realize something was wrong. She looked concerned as she watched their surroundings on the way home.
"You feel it too, don't you?" Percy asked him mother.
Sally nodded and stood a little closer to Percy. "Maybe it's a monster?"
"I don't think so." Percy looked around and sighed. "Let's just go to the park."
"Okay. I could call Chiron."
"We'll be fine."
The two walked to the park, never being able to rely. Once there, they talked about what was next. "Maybe it is a monster? I think I should look around."
"Percy" Sally started, "We look together."
"I can't put you in danger. Whoever or whatever is watching us, wants me."
"We go together. I'll be okay. I faced the minotaur, remember?"
"And almost got killed, remember?"
"Percy."
"Okay."
The park was a beautiful place. Sally used to take Percy all the time. He had always shown an interest in the decorative water fountain in the middle as well as any drinking fountains that had been around.
Walking around the park, Sally and Percy tried to find the source of their discomfort. For it being mid-day, there was no one around. The wind blew the swings gently. "Not creepy at all." Percy said, looking at his mother.
There was a quiet noise in the trees. Percy grabbed his pen and took a step closer to them. Standing right behind her son, Sally prepaid herself for whatever foe may be hidden in the pines and oak trees.
Pulling the leaves back, Percy looked to see what was there. A squirrel ran out from the tree and went up another that wasn't too far from it. "You know, maybe we are just being paranoid."
As the two turned to leave, they realized they weren't alone. Their feelings and been right.
"Hello Percy." Luke Castellan said. "You must be Sally Jackson." The man said as he motioned to Sally with his sword. "It's nice to meet you."
Taking a step back Percy pulled his mother with him. "Luke? How long have you been following me?" Uncapping Riptide, the half-blood placed it between his mother and Luke.
"A few days."
"A few days?!" Percy yelled surprised.
"Leave my son alone!" Ms. Jackson yelled sternly at Luke, putting a hand on Percy's shoulder.
"I'm sorry, I can't. You see, I need your son dead. So-"
"You'll have to get through me."
"Mom. Let me handle it."
Luke looked interested. "Sally Jackson fought a minotaur, I'm sure I'd be no challenge." He joked. Taking a step forward Percy pulled him back with the threat of his blade.
Both demigods knew it was time to fight. They readied their weapons. Percy stood in front of his mother, knowing he couldn't let Luke get close to his mom. Sally was one of the people who Percy loved most. She was his to protect.
As they fought the question of how Luke found him lingered in Percy's mind. "Let me get this straight, you've been following me for days now? Just like that? I never noticed you?"
"Yep. I thought you would be more observant. With everything that's happened, how could you not be?" Luke said as he swung his sword.
It only took one look at his mom for Percy to know why he hadn't realized Luke had been looming; his mother would keep him safe. "You want to know why?"
Luke was an all year camper. Percy never learned what happened to his mother but he knew that it was complicated. As much as he didn't want to, using his mother and his own might help get them out of the situation. After all, his mother was there. Percy couldn't let her get hurt.
"Why?"
"Because I trust my mom."
Luke paused. The words surprised him more the Percy thought they would. Using his hesitation, Percy slashed Luke's arm with his sword.
Jumping back, Luke almost dropped his sword. He looked at his arm, blood pouring from his wound. His eyes landed on Sally who had found a stick to hold, ready to fight if she had to. The man's breath was shaky. With his left arm, the demigod pulled his sword up. "Good for you." Attacking again, Luke swung his sword at Percy, aiming for his chest.
Moving, Percy drug his sword across Luke's side. With Luke behind Percy, Sally had the opportunity to slam her stick over his head, knocking him to the ground. After a moment, Luke sat up and looked around. Percy had a sword at his throat and Sally had her stick hovering menacingly near him.
Swinging Backbiter at the Jackson's feet, Luke stumbled to his feet. He knew he had to escape. Looking around, the man decided the trees would be the easiest place to disappear. Quickly placing his sword in it's sheath, Luke ran into the woods.
When Sally went to follow him, Percy stopped her. "We don't have to follow him. He'll get away anyway. I don't want you to be in anymore danger."
Sally nodded. "So, that was Luke?"
"Yeah." Percy sat down, breathing heavily.
"He seems a lot less though then how you described him."
"He was an all year camper. When I said I had you, it must have messed with him. Trust me, he's not fun to fight."
"Come on, let's go home. Do you want to stop by the candy store and pick up some blue jelly beans and watch a movie when we get home?" Sally helped her some off the ground. She smoothed out his hair and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Hell yeah."
Augusnippets Day 13: Forced to Watch (alt prompt)
Fandom: Percy Jackson
Summary: Luke tries to spare Annabeth during The Titan's curse. Percy can do nothing but watch from his dreams as this happens.
"The girl is of no use to us." A voice said. Percy still wasn't sure who was talking.
"She can be used as bait for the half-bloods." Luke said. Annabeth lay on the ground.
"The goddess will also serve that purpose. There is no need to keep the young half-blood alive. Kill her."
Luke looked distraught. "No. The half-bloods have a personal attachment to her. They are more likely to come for Annabeth; especially Poseidon's son." He walked over to Annabeth. as if he would protect her.
If Percy didn't know better, he'd say Luke didn't want her dead. However he'd ordered her death half a year ago. That couldn't be the case.
The man didn't seem to want to budge. Percy wanted nothing more than step in and save her like she had done for him. However, he couldn't move. After all, this was simply a dream. All he could do was watch and hope that Luke convinced him to leave her alive.
"Leave the young maiden alone." Artemis argued.
Luke looked over the goddess then back to the Titan. He whispered as he spoke. "Please, do not make me kill her."
The Titan didn't move or speak. He just waited for Luke to get over his idea of saving Annabeth and kill her.
"If you will not show her mercy" Luke kneeled in front of the figure. "Show me mercy. I ask you, do not kill my sister." The demigod's voice shook.
Percy felt his blood go cold. Luke was begging for Annabeth's life and he couldn't do anything about it.
"Kill the girl Castellan. Prove to me you can do it or I'll have to report your failure." The enemy's voice was harsher than it had been.
Luke was faced with a choice; kill Annabeth or betray Kronos. Trying to help, Percy started to yell out to Luke and Annabeth. "Annabeth! Annabeth, get up!"
"Annabeth, could be a strong ally. Let me talk to her, maybe she will align."
"Take the deal!" Percy yelled, knowing his voice couldn't be heard.
"Kill that daughter of Athena!" The voice shook though the cavern.
Tears filled Percy's eyes and he saw that they also filled Luke's. This was never really in either of their hands. Taking a look at his sword, Luke raised it. He turned towards Annabeth. "No!" Percy yelled out.
Then he woke up, unaware of Annabeth's fate. Tears fell down his face as he realized there was only one way to find out if she was alive. He would have to go to her.
Augusnippets Day 3: Thunderstorm
Fandom: EPIC/The Odyssey
Summary: When Telemachus was ten years old, thunderstorms became a common thing in Ithaca. He got used to them. As he walks around the palace, he learns that Odysseus had become terrified of them.
Thunderstorms were a normal thing for Ithaca. Telemachus started to notice more of them when he was 10 years old. He used to fear them. Now he sits by the window and watched with lightning and closes his eyes as he listens thunder and the rain.
It was a stormy night when the boy learned his father was scared of thunderstorms. Penelope has gone to visit Ctimene; someone Odysseus wasn't ready to see again after telling her about Eurylochus.
Listening to the storm, the prince walked around the halls of the palace like he's done since he was young. Stopping in front of his mother and father's room, he felt as if he should go inside.
Without knocking, Telemachus opened the door. Inside Odysseus sat in his bed. His sword was in his hands and his knees were to his chest.
"Dad? Are you okay?" Telemachus asked.
"They're coming." Odysseus said, his voice shaking.
Walking more inside the room, Telemachus approached his father. Odysseus jumped back, surprised by the movement. "who's coming?"
"The Gods." The king said, whispering. "They have come for me."
"It's just a thunderstorm." Telemachus approached his mother's bed and tried to sit down.
Odysseus swung his sword at his son.
"Dad, it's okay. Can you put the sword down?"
After a moment, Odysseus realized what he had done and pulled his sword away for his son. "I'm sorry." As he started to cry, Telemachus sat down with him.
"It's okay. Can I see that?" He gestured to the sword in his father's hands.
Nodding, Odysseus handed it to him. Then Telemachus put it down beside the bed. "The Gods won't get you here. I promise."
"You can't guarantee they won't." The king said softly.
"True, but it will be okay."
"Are you sure?"
"As sure as I can be. I'll be right here, okay? I'm not going anywhere."
Telemachus remembered what it felt like to be scared of thunder when he was little. Now his father was scared of it for a very different reason. Still, he knew that it was a hard thing to be afraid of. Only the gods can control thunderstorms after all.
"Okay." Pudding his knees back down onto the bed, Odysseus tied to relax.
"You know, I used to be afraid of thunderstorms too. I got pretty used to them. No one is going to hurt you here. You're home."
"I'm home." Odysseus repeated.
"Maybe try to sleep?"
"Yeah." Laying down, Odysseus closed his eyes. Telemachus went and sat by the rocking chair that was by a window.
"Thank you son. I love you"
"I love you too, Dad."
