Codywan Week Day 4: Kidfic
Codywan Week Day 4: Kidfic
Summary: After finding a child in the aftermath of order 66, Obi-wan takes her to tatooine with him. Then Cody finds them and they become a family.
The Temple had been so quiet. The gentle cries of a young child had startled Obi-wan. The child was the first and only survivor they found that day. She was a human girl. Her name was Marla and she was four.
With no other choice, Obi-wan took Luke and her to Tatooine with him. Luke couldn't stay with him. It was already a risky move taking two force sensitive children together.
It had been a few years since then. Obi-wan had reunited with his old partner Cody. After the order and inhibitor chip were explained to him, the Jedi started to allow the clone back in his life.
It started off small. The two would spend some time together when Obi-wan or Cody weren't working. Then Cody started to watch Marla when he could.
Soon the two were just in love as they had been. Maybe they never fell out of love. Marla started to realize Cody wasn't just her dad's good friend but his boyfriend. They seemed like they should be married or engaged the way they talked.
"Are you going to marry my dad?" She asked Cody one afternoon.
"I would like to." He confessed with a chuckle.
"You should. I like having you around." Marla was eight years old. She smiled as she walked around the kitchen of the tiny house Obi-wan had found for them.
"Okay." Smiling, Cody told her it was time for bed. Looking at him, Marla tried to escape her bedtime.
That morning Obi-wan came home from his job at the bar. He found his asleep daughter hugging his boyfriend. He smiled as he hunted a blanket for the two of them. It felt so right. After making sure they were comfortable, the man went to his own bed.
When he woke up, he found a glass of water by the bed with a note. 'Marla and I went to the market. We'll be back soon.' -love Cody.
Soon Marla would be calling Cody "Buir." The word meant father in Mando'a. The girl never truly knew how much that meant to Cody.
"Marla" Obi-wan called for her.
"Yeah?" The girl was nine now.
"Your Buir has a surprise for you."
"Oh! What is it!" She squealed excitedly.
"Go find him and figure it out. I believe he is out by the cave." Obi-wan wasn't nervous to send her on her own. The cave wasn't far and he knew Cody would not let anything happen to her. That girl was their life. How she became their daughter was unfortunate. Despite that they loved her with all of their hearts.
When she returned, she had a new stuffed animal and a big smile on her face. She ran to her room to add it to her collection.
"Thank you for getting her those."
"Of course." Holding hands, the two men looked at the lives they built for themselves. They looked at their daughter as she ran back into the room, telling them all about how she had to introduce each of her stuffed animals to the new one. She had already named the bear Neo and so far everyone liked him.
After telling them about the meeting, she grabbed some apple slices off of the counter. Then she ran back to her room to make sure everyone was still getting along.
As she turned the corner, Cody turned to face Obi-wan. "Look at our daughter."
"I know." They smiled at how kind she was, even to stuffed animals. "I love you."
Cody kissed his husband. "I love you too."

Codywan Week Day 5: Only One Bed
Summary: After being sent on a diplomatic mission, Obi-wan and Cody settle into their room. The only problem, there's only bed.
Funny story about this at the end.
Obi-wan and Cody stared at the room before them. It was a nice room. There was a mini fridge, a bathroom, a bedside table that had a lamp on it, and a desk. There was only one problem, there was only one bed.
When the Jedi had sent Obi-wan on a diplomatic mission, they sent his commander with him so that he wasn't alone. After all, he was being sent to a war zone. It was fitting to have Cody there. However the council partially sent him for the company on the long days if travel.
The two spend a lot of time together, but one on one time like this was almost rare. I'm truth, both enjoyed being is such close contact for the few days they had spent travelling. Now they could have more close contact time.
"I can sleep on the floor."
"I can't ask you to do that." Taking off his shoes, Obi-wan sat in the bed. "We'll be fine to share a bed."
There was a nervous feeling that flooded Cody. It wasn't a bad feeling at all. "Okay."
Slowly the two settled into the room. The clone took off his armor and set it down in the corner and the Jedi removed his lightsaber from his belt and placed it on the bedside table. The two changed into comfortable clothing. Then they got into bed.
The blanket was soft. They laid an awkward distance apart, both men wanting to hold the other. It felt like it should come naturally to them. After a moment, Cody decided to shift, trying to see how Obi-wan would react.
As Cody moved, Obi-wan did too. Shifting to be closer to his commander, he grumbled about the room being slightly cold.
"Just come here." Cody smiled, holding his arms out to his Jedi. For a moment, Obi-wan hesitated. He wasn't sure why he did. Then he inched closer to the man.
Wrapping his arms around him, Cody pulled him close. "Is this better?"
"Yeah" Obi-wan said, surprised. Cody always did run warm. It felt nice, their body heat being together. It felt right, being so close. Trying to resist the urge to kiss him, the clone looked around the dark room.
Then Obi-wan got closer to him. His head rested on his chest. Looking up at Cody, his eyes lingered on his lips. The man noticed and waited to see if anything would happen. After what felt like a minute, Obi-wan leaned into his commander, kissing him.
The kiss only lasted a few seconds before the Jedi pulled away. "I'm sorry, I don't know why I-"
Interrupting him Cody pulled him back into a kiss. "It's okay." The two looked at each other for a moment before Obi-wan laid back down.
"Goodnight."
"Goodnight."
The next day, the two got up. They didn't talk about what had happened the night before until the day was over. "So, what now?" Cody asked.
"What do you mean?"
"Are we going to talk about last night?"
"I've wanted to do that for a while now. I'm sorry if you feel uncomfortable."
"I don't." Sitting on the bed, Cody rested his hand beside him. "I like you, a lot. I'd love to date you, but I can't ask that if you. You're a Jedi."
Obi-wan crawled onto Cody, his legs on both sides of the man. "Don't worry about that. I'd like to be your boyfriend." Then kissed him. The two fell to the bed. Maybe sharing one bed wasn't so bad.
Funny story: I was gonna do hurt/comfort. My only note was "You have til August." I went to write it and figured out I didn't have any ideas previously so I changed the prompt. Next to the "You have til August." I wrote "It's August." I just think it's kinda funny. That's all.

The Merry Whump of May Day 2: "Don't You Dare."
Fandom: Star Wars The Clone Wars
Warning: Character Death
Summary: Obi-wan never thought a memory of the past would be ruined during the war. Anakin was never a fan of listening to other people.
"Anakin, give that back." Obi-wan sighed
Anakin held his master's lightsaber, taunting him. "What are you gonna do?" He was ready to run away.
"Don't you dare" Obi-wan told his Padawan.
At the tail end of 'dare', Anakin took off down the hall. "Anakin!" Obi-wan yelled after him. Chasing him down the hall, the Jedi knew it would be a while before he got the boy to train. Like most ten year olds, he was difficult.
However, Anakin was his padawan. Training him was a pain but something told him it would be worth it in the end. Watching the kid run away with his lightsaber, Obi-wan couldn't help but smile. As frustrating as it was, it had some humor to it.
It had been years since Anakin had stolen his lightsaber and made Obi-wan chase him around the temple to get it back. As the years passed, the little boy that Qui-gon had picked up on Tatooine, grew into an adult.
Now the two brothers were generals in a war. They would fight side by side from time to time. Today was no different. "Hello Anakin."
"Hey Obi-wan. Good to see you."
"Likewise. Shall we go over the plan?"
"Probably."
Sitting together, the two looked over the battle plans and created them. They carefully thought out each attack and strategy, trying to find one that would take them to victory with the least amount of casualties.
The battle had started as they normally did. Hours of combat seemed to never end. Now they were pinned.
"What now?"
"I have a plan but you're not gonna like it."
"What's your plan?" Obi-wan asked Anakin.
Explosions went off all around them. Obi-wan's ears were starting to ring, a sound he never did quite get used to. "I'm going to take out the command tank."
"You'll die before you get there." Dismissing the thought, Obi-wan started to come up with another idea.
"Do you have such little faith in little old me?" Anakin joked.
Rolling his eyes, Obi-wan ignored the comment.
"I'm going to do it. It's our best shot."
"Don't you dare." Obi-wan told his padawan.
Anakin didn't listen. Running towards the command tank, Anakin deflected bullets. He got to the tank and slashed it with his lightsaber. The droids attacked the tank, using it as a weapon to kill Skywalker. Pieces of the tank scattered across the field. Anakin's body lie burned and still not far from the biggest part of the tank.
"Anakin!" Obi-wan screamed, Cody kept him from going to him.
The clone's arms wrapped around his body. "The medics will help him."
The world felt colder than he remembered. Trying to shake the feeling of loss was harder with Anakin then Qui-gon. Then again, Obi-wan had time to grieve with his father.
The battle couldn't stop for one man. If it could, there would never be any fighting. Kix pulled Anakin away from the scene and tried to find his vittles.
Cody got Obi-wan away from the scene. The fight continued and ended with a Republic victory.
Staying with Obi-wan, Cody never left his side. He already knew that General Skywalker had died. He had seen it in Rex and Kix's body language. Somehow, he knew Obi-wan knew. However, for everyone's sake, it was best to keep that quiet.
No words were exchanged when Kix hand Obi-wan Anakin's lightsaber. Maybe if Anakin had just listened. Anakin never liked to listen.
Augusnippets Day 8: Found Family
Fandom: The Bad Batch
Summary: Echo thinks and learns about his new family.
Most of the time you find your family. But sometimes they find you. In Echo's case, they saved him. There was something about the Bad Batch that made him feel safe and wanted. Something he used to have with the 501st before she blew up. So he went with them.
Being a part of their family was new. Echo remembered being called 'a bad batch'. He remembered that he hated it. Now it was a name he picked for himself.
The clone remembered being new to Clone Force 99. It took a while to get used to how they did things. The 501st was crazy and half the time the batch matched that energy. However sometimes they exceed it. Echo wasn't sure how he felt about it, but he knew he would get used to it just like he did before.
Getting used to the batch's personalities and individual quirks took some time.
It was strange that Hunter knew what was coming before it did or knew the weather an hour or so before it happened. The sergeant was sensitive to overly loud noises because be could hear better than the other clones could. If there were too many vibrations and sounds at the same time, he would get nervous or confused. He would also complain about stubbed toes or other injuries more because he felt them deeper than the others.
However Wrecked seemed to complain about small injuries just as much as Hunter did, even though he couldn't justify it with heightened senses. He was a kind man with a lot of energy. It took a while before Echo got used to being picked up while he was being hugged by him. Part of him was still surprised. His blind spot was another thing he had to get used to. Even if he could be childish, Wrecked was the most emotionally intelligent member of the batch.
Lula was Wrecker's stuffed tooka doll. She tended to get shoved into people's faces or chest. Crosshair seemed to receive this treatment the most.
The sniper was standoffish and grumpy. Still, Crosshair had his moments. Sometimes he could manage to be compassionate when Echo really needed it. The man seemed to instigate with the regs as much as or more than Wrecker did. He was also the reason Echo found wooden toothpicks everywhere. When the man would flick them to the ground, he would have to stop himself from making Crosshair pick them up. He knew wood was not the worst thing to be on the ground, but it was still littering.
Tech was the man who carried him out of his prison. He had found out how to free him from Skako Minor. The two had become good friends. The man was dense and straight to the point. His voice wasn't quite monotone but it was close. Most of the time he was looking at a data pad, trying to learn anything he could about their next mission or whatever topic he had found interesting. He wouldn't stop until he knew just about everything he could on the topic and then he would tell someone all about it.
Echo had learned about many strange topics while being talked at with Tech. The clone had told him anything from the mental and physical effects of cannibalism to what kind of bees lived on certain planets. Tech also couldn't stand some textures and made one of his brothers deal with them. He had a habit of offending people which Echo quickly realized wasn't on purpose.
While spending time with them, they all learned about each other. Wrecked told him about explosions and fire. Hunter explained some ways vibrations helped with missions. Crosshair would take him to the range and Tech would share interesting facts about any topic he could think of. Echo found himself making sure he had time for each activity in his day. He would tell them stories about being an Arc Trooper or about his days as a cadet.
It was a late night when Echo realized the people around him weren't just his squad, but his family. He had grown to love them the way he had loved people like Droidbait, Cutup, Hevy, and Fives and he was okay with that. After all, they found him. It was only a matter of time before they became family.
Augusnippets Day 10: Begging for Mercy
Fandom: The Dragon Prince
Summary: Aaravos tries to argue with Cosmic Judges for Leola.
Aaravos couldn't seem to understand why his daughter was being punished for giving the humans magic. The girl had done it out of love, not mallis. She was young and didn't know she was breaking some old code.
Standing in front of the Cosmic Judges, the startouched elf tried to plead his daughter's case. As they argued, he could feel Leola slipping out of his fingers. Would he really lose his daughter?
"She is but a child!" Falling to his knees, he yelled at the judges. "Show her mercy!"
The judges stayed quiet, cold in their decision. The girl had broken their code. It had been written to keep them safe as well as to protect their future. Now that the humans had magic, their downfall would begin.
"She has broken the cosmic order." The stern one spoke.
"She didn't know any better! I allowed her!"
Leola tugged on her father's clothing, "Daddy?"
Trying to calm his voice, Aaravos spoke. "It's alright. It will be okay." Kneeling down to his daughter, he tried to comfort her.
Deep down, Aaravos knew he would lose. That didn't mean he wouldn't try. After all, how could he give up on his daughter?
So the elf argued. He fought with all of strength; trying to have the judges grant his Leola mercy. Maybe it would be an act of mercy to him too. After all, what kind of parent wants to lose their child before they die?
