That was madness. 

These would-be dragonslayers might as well try to quench a fire with a spear thrust. “Death comes out of the dragon’s mouth,” Septon Barth had written in his Unnatural History, “but death does not go in that way.”

DID YOU HEAR THAT, D&D? ONLY WAY TO KILL A DRAGON WITH A SCORPION IS A REALLY LUCKY SHOT THROUGH THE EYE. SOMETHING NEITHER THE NIGHT KING NOR EURON DID IN THE SHOW. ANYWHERE WITH SCALES WON’T WORK. 

Lucette didn’t buy it.

“oh really now, hm?” She questioned slyly, tapping her fingers against her cheek as she gave Victoria a sly grin. A grin anyone in the palace knew well. It meant she was planning something.

“And what exactly did Victoria say to you, dear uncle, in regards to these “speculations”, hmm?”

Lucette’s grin looked as if it would fit better on a picture of a cat that got the creme.

“Uuuuuuunccclllleeeee!” A familiar yell rang out through the hallways, before the doors of Kane’s study were slammed open to reveal a familiar face.

“Uncle!” Lucette yelled, though there was no need to. She scurried over to where he was sitting at his desk and immediately sat on top of it, ignoring his work.

“Uncle, you will NOT believe the rumor I just heard from Victoria!”

As usual, Lucette ignored her Uncle’s veiled commands. And Victoria’s subtle pleas.

“Aht aht, dear uncle! It’s not just between you and our darling Victoria, now is it? It includes a lot more people than that. And don’t give me that look, Uncle, I had nothing to do with it. People were already giving me weird looks before I found out why.” Lucette said with a huff, crossing her leg over the other and smoothing down the large skirt of her dress. its honestly surprising she managed to fit on the desk with how big those dresses are.

“And it does involve and concern me, uncle, because I’m the one who has to deal with the twitters of the Court ladies. And their not so hidden questions to me about you. Besides, you’re always busy. Don’t you wanna spend some time with your lovely niece and know how she’s doing?” She asked with a grin, picking up a cogwheel that had been on his desk and fiddling with it.
