Hey No One Else Around Me Cares Enough About That 70s Show So I Thought I Could Tell You. You Should

Hey no one else around me cares enough about that 70s show so I thought I could tell you. You Should Be Sad by Halsey has MAJOR Jackie/Hyde breakup energy. Wanted to see if you think so too?

hey hun 😊 first of all, that's a great question and i love this song :))

and yes, just yes. especially this line:

no, you're not half the man you think that you are and you can't fill the hole inside of you with money, drugs and cars

i can picture jackie saying something like that to him when the stripper was around. not even screaming, simply stating this as a fact because she's done with him. and i can't blame her, it's impossible to defend s8!hyde (fuck him, btw). i love post-s8 scenarios where they get back together, but damn i don't think there's anything that might make him deserve her trust again.

what he did was shitty, to say the least. and i'll never get over that, apparently. :(

i listened to the song to remember the lyrics, and i realized that there is a burkhyde song-fic based on this song. here's the link, if you want to read it.

anyways, thanks for your question! i'm honored you thought of me 💖 that's so sweet :))

*part 2 here*

Hyde, who had just entered the kitchen: Hey, you want company?

Jackie: Yours? I think I'll pass. [proceeds to take a shot of tequila]

Jackie 1 × Hyde 0

Hyde: Listen, I'm sorry I ruined your dinner but, to be fair, you ruined mine when you brought that asshole here.

Jackie, sarcastically smiling: Well, you ruined my entire life when you brought that stripper here. And you had the nerve to call me a whore. And a slut. And a bitch. And a skank. Did I forget something?

Jackie 2 × Hyde 0

Hyde: Okay, I guess I deserved that.

Jackie: It sucks, doesn't it? When someone throws all your shit back in your face...

Hyde: Yes, it does.

Jackie: You're such a hypocrite. You want me to forgive you and get over everything you've done, but if I was the one who cheated, or the one who went out on a date with a biker guy, or the one who married a Las Vegas stripper, you wouldn't even look at me. [proceeds to take another shot of tequila]

Jackie 3 × Hyde 0

Hyde: You're...

Jackie, interrupting him: Shut up, I'm not done speaking. I kept this to myself for so long... I'm not your mother, Steven. You kept waiting for me to give up on you, but all I did was love you. I loved your flaws and qualities, I tried to push you to be your best self. Every mistake I made was trying to make it better for both of us, but it wasn't enough for you to make an effort, was it?

Jackie 4 × Hyde 0

Jackie: Aren't you tired?

Hyde: Of what?

Jackie: Of hurting me and destroying whatever piece of joy I have left.

Jackie 5 × Hyde 0

Hyde: We spent so much time together that your selfishness rubbed off on me. I can't lose you, not again. I don't want to destroy your happiness, I want to be the reason why you're happy.

Jackie: Yeah, calling me names and rubbing your marriage in my face is a great way of showing you want to make me happy.

Jackie 6 × Hyde 0

Jackie: I'm out of here.

Hyde: Please, don't go yet. Stay. Fight with me. Tell me I'm a jerk who's not good enough for you. Scream at me. Hit me, if you want. But please, don't leave me again.

Jackie: I never left, you wanted me to go.

Jackie 7 × Hyde 0

Hyde: And now I want you to stay. Make my life a living hell, make me grovel, make me work fucking hard for the privilege of holding your hand again. Stay and punish me until you feel like giving me one more, lousy chance. But, please Doll, don't go.

Jackie: This is so... out of character.

Hyde: Choosing anybody over you was out of character, this is what I should've done a long while ago.

Idk if you've answered this before but how did Amy and Jackie meet?

that's a really good question, ty for asking 💖

i never specified how they met, just that they were on the same grade, and it's actually a pretty normal situation.

first day of school. they were both freshmen, had no friends at all and, on top of that, amy had just moved from brazil (and her english was questionable at that point). the first day on a new school can be scary, specially when you're a fourteen year old bi immigrant or another fourteen year old girl with no friends.

the concept of their friendship is so unexpected, because they're so different, but it just worked. (and also because my first plan was to make them a couple, but my zennie heart decided to make amy the captain of the burkhyde defense squad)

basically, that's how i think it happened (i'm not using dialogue/incorrect quotes format because i wanna describe the scene properly, sorry if there's any grammar mistakes :)

[...]

Should I say "hello" or "hey"? Maybe just "hi"? I am going to say "good morning"... or is it "good day"? What is the difference between "in", "on" and "at"? Am I going to fail my english class? Are they going to make fun of me? I miss Brasil, Amy thought to herself while looking for a friendly face.

The weather was cold and she wasn't used to it. She missed her grandparents and speaking portuguese with someone other than her mother. Hell, she missed not having to translate her thoughts.

And, mostly, she wanted to cry.

Stupid, right? The world was facing so many problems, and she was complaining about the weather.

She focused on finding someone to talk to. Boys were never options, but talking to girls seemed so... terrifying. Maybe she could start a conversation with a compliment.

Her train of thought was interrupted by the brunette girl who had just sat beside her.

She's so cute, the blonde murmured to herself. And she looks just as scared as I am. I'm going to compliment her. Should I say "that's a nice shirt" or "this is a nice shirt"? Is it even a shirt? Maybe it's a sweater. Well, I'm just going to say:

"I love your outfit!"

And it worked. Relief appeared on her face in the form of a smile. Amy felt her heart warm.

"And I love your hair!" The girl said.

"Thank you!"

Tell her your name and ask for hers, Amy! How do I pronounce my own name in english? Oh, screw that!

"I'm Jackie, what's your name?"

"My name is Scarlett Amelia, but I go by Amy."

"Amy, come sit here behind me so we can talk more..." Jackie was practically bouncing on her seat.

"Sure!"

[...]

like i said, a really common situation. but i hope you enjoy it! xx ;)
