When Ellie comes out to Joel he mentions it to Tommy who’s like “wait she just told you?!” And Joel finds out that she told Tommy a while ago. He tries not to feel jealous, but he does ask him if there was a reason she told him first. Like if he said anything or did something wrong. Tommy just kinda laughs and is like “nah, I’m her cool uncle. Plus, I mentioned my high-school boyfriend, so that helped.” And Joel’s just “you had a high-school boyfriend?!” Which Tommy finds hilarious for some reason. He replies “You seriously don’t remember? You walked in on us… y’know…” and Joel’s so confused. And Tommy just keeps talking, saying “you told him to leave, and I asked if you were mad at me, but you said I didn’t do nothin’ wrong and just to be more responsible from now on. You seriously don’t remember that?” And Joel just goes pale and looks down, muttering “I misread the situation.” And Tommy never lets him forget it.

Write Like a Sadist: Tips and Tricks for Torturing Your Ships!
Hello and welcome back to WLAS! The place to be if you want everyone reading your stories to suffer!
Tip 1: Does your ship have issues? Big issues? Such as fundamentally different worldviews or polar opposite ways of thinking? Many ships do, and in a good story that ends in a confrontation that either brings them closer or pushes them to break up, well we hear at WLAS don’t write good stories, we write ‘fuck you’ stories! Have there be a major source of contention that both of your characters tip-toe around and snap at each other about and NEVER resolve it! There should be NO catharsis! DO NOT CATHART!!! Tip 2: Does one of your characters have a significant amount of trauma? I bet they do! One way to make your readers scream at you through the pages of your story is to have that character open up about it to their love interest, only for the love interest to be a massive asshole about it! It may ruin that character and the whole relationship, but as we always say at WLAS, ‘make everyone suck and be awful all the time, no exceptions’.
That’s all for today, folks! And remember, writing isn’t about relationships, it’s about destroying them!
The whole voice cast of Hazbin Hotel is fantastic, like you’ve got Erika Henningson (Charlie) just absolutely nailing the fun upbeat ‘nothing wrong with me everything’s cool! (Please believe me)’ vibes. Then Stephanie Beatriz (Vaggie) killin’ it with the chill no nonsense vibes. And don’t even get me STARTED on Keith David and Blake Roman (Angel and Husk)!
But what I want to talk about today is Alastor and Vox’s voices. Obviously they’re both fantastic, but with Alastor and Vox being polar opposites (Tv/Radio, Red/Blue, etc.) I love how their voices are opposite too! Alastor’s is crackely, with the staticky sound effects but also sorta the reverb of his voice, while Vox’s voice is totally smooth and like… flowy? If that makes sense. I just think it’s really neat and adds another layer of juxtaposition between them, not to mention making ‘Stayed Gone’ sound even more freakin’ fantastic!
Joel and Ellie
Quite tired and smelly
Joel is not doing welly
Ellie needs to fill his belly
rode off on Callus, then she felly
woke up with a cannibal locked in a celly
Killed a man and ran through a deli
David sucks, his brain are now jellie
Joel is being a nervous Nellie
gets there too late after she’s been through helly
He calls her baby girl as I cry at my telly
I was watching TLOU HBO video essays again (it’s normal behavior, ok?! NORMAL!!!) and I saw someone say that Bella Ramsey’s performance was “flat” at times, but I completely disagree. I thought that their performance was never less than truly incredible. They portrayed such deep emotion without being melodramatic, they developed Ellie through the story in a truly masterful way, they perfectly showed us such real, human reactions and responses to all the situations Ellie was put in, and the way they played off their co-stars was really fantastic.
Not every scene they were in was hugely emotional, and the ones that were hit HARD. There were plenty of normal conversations, but those were acted to perfection too. Those normal scenes made TLOU so amazing.
IDK why I’m posting this, I guess just another Bella Ramsey appreciation post on my blog lol. Anyway, I truly, deeply loved their performance SO much, it was so amazing. The cast of TLOU is truly in another planet.
Quick side note: pls don’t DM me about why I’m wrong. It’s not really gonna do anything, and it just sours both our moods. You don’t have to agree with me, I get that it’s subjective, just don’t private message me listing all the reasons you disagree, yeah? Cheers👍 (I’m not British I just like the word ‘Cheers’)
In TLOU HBO there are two episodes that take place outside of the main timeline of the show, and both are absolutely fantastic queer love stories, but they are also completely different types of love stories.
Long, Long Time is a story about growing old together. It’s about loving someone so deeply and unbreakably that they become your purpose. It’s a two decade spanning story about time and spending your life with someone you love.
Left Behind is a story about young love. It’s about the awkward giddiness of having a crush at fourteen. It’s about the butterflies in your stomach and young, naive hope. It spans one night, probably less than four hours, that ended way too soon.
Bill and Frank’s death wasn’t the tragic end of a play, but Riley and Ellie were all poetic and decided to lose their minds together.
