Apollo 11 - Tumblr Posts

On this July 20, the 55th anniversary of the #Apollo11 Moon landing, I'd like to share my dad's autographed photo of Neil Armstrong from when he was working for Neil in 1991 or so (before I was born).
May the intrepid journey of Armstrong, Aldrin, and Collins continue to inspire us all!

Would you let her send you into orbit?
Another drawing of my Saturn V rocket humanization! I tried to finish this a few days ago for the 55th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon landing, but other stuff came up. Oh well! (And yes, I did take heavy inspiration from the Cantina scene from the first Star Wars for this drawing, heh.)

Actual quotes from the Apollo 11 mission:

The weirdest guy I ever met in a church was this boy who referred to “Buzz Aldrin and his husband” going to the moon. I was completely baffled, and when I asked if he’d misspoken, he got really angry and accused me of being deliberately ignorant of the facts. It turned out that he was somehow comvinced that Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong were married. It took five Wikipedia articles to convince him otherwise.
One of Jupiter's moons is called Io...Juno was right to check on him lmao
Apollo is related to the sun but apollo 11 was a mission to the moon
Can it be that we want the twins to meet??
Juno was a mission to Jupiter, so were we trying to send Jupiter's wife there to check on him?? He does attract a alot of asteroids 😂

The Eagle has landed: July 20, 1969

Imagine being the only person alive who can say this

Farewell, Mike Collins. Thank you for supporting the United States' first mission to Mars, Apollo 11.
where's Michael Collins appreciation

yes his notebook says "Ye Olde Lunar Scratchpad"
also loving the visual of Buzz and Neil coming back into the capsule after the moon landing and- just- looking around at Collins' scrawl everywhere like "what the hell, Mike"
