Behold, the piece of art I had sitting in the back of my computer for the last year and a half. Bathe in the horrid colors and the yellow stuff on the bottom that is supposed to be hay. Soak in the fact that I have horrible shading skills. Rosalin and Geraldine( chosen name for the MC) from “Fall of Eden”. 10 out of 10, best game I’ve ever played, would play again.

Lighting + Dark Skin
One of the biggest issues with whitewashed art is the lighting. Poor lighting can wash out dark skin, making it look ashy and vampiric. Here are some different lighting styles (colorful, soft, dramatic, neutral, bright, etc) and dark skin. Look at how stark the difference is between the highlights and shadows in more dramatic and bright lighting. Notice how some skin is warmer and some has more blue undertones. Pay attention to how softer lighting has less highlights and more shadows, which is very different from more dramatic lighting. Observe how dark skin behaves in different lighting! Practice!
